McCain...You Know Who Isn't Helping With This Whole Blago Mess? The RNC, That's Who.

Et tu, Mav? But of course!

"I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary,"

...McCain suggested the Republican National Committee's calls for the Obama team to publicly release their conversations with Blagojevich and his people aren't helpful.

"With all due respect to the Republican National Committee, we should try to be working constructively together," McCain said.

"I have some confidence that all of the information will come out. It always does it seems to me," he said.

Yeah, the RNC is being unhelpful here. Funny how it's always the Republicans fault in McCain's mind.

I thought McCain rewrote the 1st Amendment because we had to worry about the "appearance of corruption". Yet now that we have actual corruption on the part of a sitting governor, we must not ask any questions of Obama but rather just sit and wait for Him to tell us what He thinks we need to know.

Oh and Mav? It's not the 'Obama campaign', it's The Office of The President Elect. Didn't you see the logo?

And before McCain decides this is a partisan witch hunt, he might want to consider that even writers for the LA Times are starting to notice that the silence of The Office Of The President Elect on the matter is a legitimate matter of inquiry.

What’s puzzled some people and raised suspicions among others is Emanuel’s refusal to talk about it (reportedly physically pushing one reporter’s tape recorder away and having a verbal altercation with another) and the delay on Obama’s part in releasing the promised diary of contacts.

From a practical point of view, if everything is above board, what’s to hide?

I can't wait for the youtube video of McCain crying and demanding that we "Leave Obama Alone!"

Added: I did see the whole show and can't find a transcript yet but I think this video from the RNC is what McCain was talking about as being 'unhelpful'.

How dare those damn Republicans use Obama's words against him. They're nothing but a bunch of lowlife bastards for sinking to this level.

1 Mc who???  What a fool.  Maybe this explains why the Dem's are still fighting over the Senate seat in Minnesota.  That seat going to Franken plus McCain switching to Dem would give them 60.

Somebody needs to hit McCain with a clue hammer. Here is a clue for you John boy. The only help I want to see from anybody is getting to the bottom of this so that all the responsible parties spend time in the penitenciary of the government's choice. I do not want anybody helping to sweep it under the rug. I do not want anybody helping keep Obama out of the fray. I do not want anybody helping to impede grand juries. I do not want anybody helping the press to not do its job. I want all this corruption to see the light of day. I want people to spend time in jail.

The point of this is that we are talking about people who make decisions that affect our lives. I do not want some corrupt governor of a corrupt state government that has not got enough sense to clean out their own sewers to name some corrupt idiot to the senate to make stupid decisions that affect my life. We already have enough of that.

What did we do to deserve these stupid, stupid senators, governors, politicians?

McLame is showing his true colors now that he doesn’t even have to make a pretense of being a conservative or even a real Republican. He signed on with the Dems on that horrid pack of lies for the Senate Armed Services “Torture” report, he’s thrown Palin under the bus in more than just those comments referenced above, and now he is all for giving the One a break on crooked Chicago politics; even to the point of condemning his own party.

I knew there was a reason I was not going to vote for him until Palin was nominated. All I can say is the GD Republican party better do something with their GD primary rules before the next election. They also better start cleaning up the GD liberal democrats with a fucking (R) after their names.

There is no there there. Going hard after Obama for something another guy did, something Obama Obama clearly had nothing to do with, will make the party look silly and it will not help.

Obama has made himself look foolish during this scandal. The only way the GOP could mess this up is to overplay their hand. They are currently doing just that.

43 McCain shares one essential quality with Obama: extreme narcissism.

Even if he has to beat Palin with a stick to the end of his days to prove his defeat wouldn't have been overwhelmingly humiliating without her, he will. In the same way he blamed his 2000 primary loss on Bush's evil rumors, keeping that meme alive for years, rather than face the truth of his own unpopularity with Republican voters who fall anywhere right of center.

John McCain is totally and utterly insulated from reality. He's a politically spineless progressive, slightly to the right of Barack Obama, a placement which, given that Obama falls off the leftward end of the chart, isn't hard to accomplish.

Go to hell, John McCain.

McCain hates his own supporters so much, it makes me wonder if he was really running, or if he was put in there in order to lose on purpose.

I'm absolutely convinced this is one reason the media and so many Democrats (but I repeat myself) have liked McCain so much:  They knew they could beat him.

I don't want to hear any more about how the GOP needs to be more like McCain, to appeal to the middle.  NO MORE.  We nominated him, alright?  And we saw how that turned out.  He ran like a guy who didn't really want to win.  And like a guy who'd never, ever say anything too disrespecful about a Democrat.

We nominated your beloved maverick, and as a candidate, he blew chunks and took an ass-kicking.  THE END.  Good night, Johnny Mac, and bad luck.

45 If you all want to be the same screaming, hysterical opposition that the Democrats have been for the last 8 years you can go ahead. It may make you feel better but it will do nothing to advance the GOP or the conservative agenda.

The point is not that Obama should not be scrutinized. The point is that the RNC ultra aggressive approach only makes them look nuts and when Obama is cleared of having done anything wrong (does anyone really think he was stupid enough to be a part of this?) our party's credibility takes the hit.

Again, Obama has not handeled this well, but the RNC has handeled it so badly as to give him cover. The RNC was handed he ball on the one and dropped it.

If this is what we have in store for the next 4 or 8 years it is going to be a bloodbath.

(...also, since when is criticizing the RNC a mortal sin? Are we all supposed to be party people now, nodding our heads whenever the party does anything, no matter how stupid?)

We don't want to become a bunch of feces flinging monkeys.

The Blago thing and FM/FM fiasco should be handled the same way over and over again.

That way is: "Gee, it's really a shame the Democrats didn't vet Obama properly. We need to have an independent counsel now to make sure the American people don't have a corrupt President."

for FM/FM: "Gee it's too bad the democrats didn't properly vet the people they had in charge of Fanny Mac and Freddie may. But that huge amounts of money and sweetheart deals given Obama, Dodd, Frank, and Hillary. Well, it certainly looks like corruption. We better have an investigation to make sure nothing's wrong."

And so on....over and over again. BO and the Dims we'll give our side plenty of opportunities if they have the balls to use them.

IMO it looks like to me a setup designed to create a situation where Obama could get on the record as not being corrupt.

3. Keep in mind that Obama can fire Fitzgerald since he works at the pleasure of the President.  Could this nonsense be in part a shot across the bow of Obama in order for Fitz to keep his job?

45 If you all want to be the same screaming, hysterical opposition that the Democrats have been for the last 8 years ...

That's a strawman Ben, and it makes you look like a fool.

What we will do, for the good of the country as well as the conservative movement, is stop backing down.  No more going along to get along.  That's what got us here.  We've slaughtered enough of our own on the altar of "clean" govt.  Now it's time to start slitting some "D" throats.  Anyone who's been paying attention for the last 25 yrs or so knows that the democrat party is the party of sleaze.  The reason they've managed to avoid the shitstorm is that they never give an inch.  They, along with their poodles in the media, will tell any lie, bury any truth, and screw their country as badly as they have to, in order to advance their POLITICAL interests.

That's got to end, right now.  You want to talk about corruption and clean govt?  Fine, let's have that conversation.  We'll start with Reid, Jackson, Boxer, Pelosi, Frank (he was fucking a male LOBBYIST from Freddie/Fannie while he was supposed to be regulating them!), any Kennedy you care to name, Dodd, Daley...  Jesus, the list goes on forever.

The environment is so target rich it's embarrassing.

But you want to play nice.  You want to be a good loser.

I don't want to be any kind of loser.  The stakes are too goddamn high.  So Ben?  Sack up or find a nicer party to belong to.  I want my party to beat these traitors over the head with their own crimes till they die.

IIRC Ace squandered bazillions of precious and nonrenewable zeroes and ones  berating us all for not wanting to vote (and like it) for this miserable scum-sucking turncoat, and saying the alternative would be much worse.

So far there doesn't seem to be much of a difference.

By now he's probably past wondering what that warm sensation he's feeling in his pants is all about, and is desperately looking for something to take care of it with.

I suggest one of those long-handled shoehorns.

Oh go fuck yourself with that crap.

If McCain wanted to be a revered war hero and never be insulted, he shouldn't have become a politician. Of course, he knows politics is a full contact sport and doesn't plays the victim. In fact, he's far more likely to throw an elbow (at least at Republicans) as anyone. It's nice to see you have thinner skin on his behalf than he does.

It's funny that McCain has no inhibition about attacking Republicans but you seem to think he's immune from being criticized.

There are probably people dumber than you but it's hard to imagine who.

79 If the heavens had trembled, Clarence interceded, and a unicorn descended to carry Barry to his rightful place in the realm of pure Celestine energy, McCain would have won.

Within 2 years, he would have found a reason to dump Palin from the ticket.

And speaking as an ex-Chicagoan--amused observer of the Harold Washington-Vrdolyak wars, the Pax Daleyana, and the Quickening of the One--there is NO WAY that Obama could have emerged from the fetid swamp of Machine politics without having acquired its mentality and practice of sheer expediency, ruthlessness, and utter ethical disregard.

I hope Palin moves to Arizona to run against McCain in the 2010 primary.  If McCain held an event in Ohio today, can you imagine what his turnout would be compared to a Palin event?

95 I agree... Mccain may have been worse than Obama as president.  We need a president who will stick up for what's right and fight what's wrong.

If we're to have a jackass president, let it be Obama, so the nation learns to fear a weak idiot president with no experience, instead of another moderate weak lipped 'conservative-light'.

Where is Mccain when Bush is unfairly attacked?  Or Palin?

I worked hard for Mccain's campaign in some very unpleasant places.  I gave money time and frankly a bit of my own intellectual honesty in supporting him.  He has stabbed me in the back quite thoroughly.

77: Yes, Naval Aviator John McCain was imprisioned and tortured by the North Vietmanese for long years. This was deserving of honor and respect.

SENATOR John McCain has been betraying the party that funded his rise to power, and the voters who worked hard to get him elected, almost since his ass  first hit that leather chair in the Senate. Since November, he and his creatures have been badmouthing a lady who worked hard and took a LOT of punishment for him and almost saved him from his own folly. His behavior in both the personal and the political sphere has nothing to do with what is expected of "an officer and a gentleman". He seems to be willing to say anything to get favorable publicity from the liberal MSM. This deserves nothing but contempt, as it is the behavior of scum.

If you don't like the idea of Conservatives sitting out an election because the RNC isn't running a Conservative candidate... then I guess you'd better work your ass off to get a Conservative nominated, hadn't you? Because obviously y'all Democrats with other friends Moderates can't win elections without us.

Harry says, If she does help, she isn't the woman I thought she was.

Palin will help if McLame asks because she is a class-act who doesn't hold grudges of someone holding her down, like McLame did and still does.  If he thinks she is the reason he didn't get elected, he needs to take a looooong look in the mirror for the letters DDD stamped on his head somewhere since he is officially the Anti-Republican.

I refused to vote for McLame in the Texas primaries, but was forced to in the general.  At least we won't have to hear McLame apologizing to the world for the GOP over the next 4 years - we just have to watch Bambi apologize for our country and write checks his ego can't cash.

At least Fox and Friends is currently giving McLame a tongue lashing over his comments about Sarah..........

And before McCain decides this is a partisan witch hunt, he might want to consider that even writers for the LA Times are starting to notice that the silence of The Office Of The President Elect on the matter is a legitimate matter of inquiry.

Over the weekend, I was channel flipping and I ran across CBS News.  The anchor was reporting on one of Hopenchange's latest nominees.  At the end of the report, he said, "He is a former Clinton Administration official."  You could hear the disgust and sadness dripping from his voice.
