If Stewart is a Jew, he confronts an interesting problem.  It is easy to see why most backs supported Obama, but less obvious for American Jews.

It is a given that Bush has been the strongest Israel supporter as McCain would have been, while Obama has large question marks in this department - Obama has a Muslim father after all.  Each Jew must have, at some time or other, wondered if the threat to Israel was strong enough to force them to abandon their liberal brothers, and answered: "Not yet."  Strong thing, ties to the elite.
