| Drip, Drip, Drip: Six Agencies Illegally Scoured Joe the Plumber's Records for Dirt, Including Office of the Attorney General, So That Information Could Be Turned Over to National MediaWow! That "Sudden Fame Exception" to privacy wasn't known by many, but it sure seems to have been known by partisan Democratic Ohio bureaucrats! Ohio Inspector General Tom Charles said his office is now looking at a half-dozen agencies that accessed state records on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher. The Beacon Journal has learned that, in addition to the Department of Job and Family Services, two other state offices — the Ohio Department of Taxation and Ohio Attorney General Nancy Rogers — conducted database searches of Joe the Plumber. .. The [day after the third presidential debate], the taxation department conducted two separate searches of a database of liens for unpaid taxes that were certified to the Ohio Attorney General's Office for collection. John Kohlstrand, a taxation department spokesman, said he is prohibited from talking about individual taxpayers, but he confirmed that the databases were checked. ... Kohlstrand said that the AG's office wanted access to the records so they could turn over to the national media lien information that was a public record in Lucas County. He said the national media did not have reporters in Toledo, so the attorney general's office was helping them out with public records. On the day following the two searches, the taxation department conducted a search of another in-house database that tracks cases and correspondence between taxpayers and the department before the liens being certified and turned over to the attorney general for collection.Check out this spin: The claim is they wanted to ensure the media wasn't misreporting information about JtP's infamous thousand-dollar tax lien: Anthony said the database searches on both days were conducted to ensure that the information in Lucas County was being properly reported by the media. ''Wouldn't that have been a disaster if the lien had been paid,'' Kohlstrand said. ''The responsible thing for us to do would be to take prompt steps to make it right.''God Bless You for your service. ''We are not aware of any inappropriate browsing of information by anyone in our department pertaining to Mr. Wurzelbacher,'' Kohlstrand said.Of course not. Thus the criminals abandon the "Sudden Fame Exception" to privacy laws, and offer a new rational: the "Searching Through Someone's Records to Make Sure He's Not Being Libeled by the Media Exception." Um, couldn't Joe have requested such a service himself? And doesn't the law specify he's required to actually request that, before government snoops go digging through his files and sending them to the media? They were protecting Joe from the media, you see. By passing them the fruits of illegal private-records searches. To ensure he wasn't being maligned. By confirming their previous smears on him. Big Brother ...is Comments1
The new checks and balances system: we had to ensure that the right information was being leaked.

Watch the media, who was suddenly VERY interested in your potential indiscretions for questioning the veracity of Barack Obama's bullsh*t economic "plans" suddenly lose interest in you and pretend you don't exist because you represent a massive embarassment to their chosen political party that they spent the better part of two years campaigning for. Bush has NOTHING on these people - they are the real threat to individual liberties and privacy in the US. He'd better sue. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services has no records to support the assertion of its now-suspended director that computer checks often are run on people "thrust quickly into the public spotlight." If the Ohio GOP doesn't use this shit to take back the state in 2 years, then they're fucking imbeciles. I'm pretty sure that a lot of the arguments the Dems used in 06 to defeat Blackwell involved Governor Taft's corruption. And then they go and abuse power on a guy for daring to ask a question? I'm convinced that Democrats always complaining about the fascism and how the GOP will abuse their powers is because they know they would do exactly that, is 100% true. The most damaging aspect of this is the timeline. All the smoke and mirrors they choose to construct doesn't take away the fact that they timed this privacy invasion to take place right after the 3rd debate, the debate during which Joe's named was thrown around by McCain.

Joe and Sarah were both thrown away by McCain. Maybe he was jealous, I don't know, but I do know that Joe and
Sarah got him more votes than he got himself. Posted by: notforobama at November 14, 2008 04:32 PM (jgcGm) 25

This wasn't some grand conspiracy. It was six abuses of power by six Obama-leaning individuals. Here's what I suggest, and I'm being dead serious. Step one is get the "Liberal Fascists" idea out. Talk about it until everyone knows. Conservatives can get out the memes too ... it's just that we're usually griping and it becomes general knowledge accidentally. Be yourselves. Step two is talk about it like it's a tragic mental illness. I feel for my friends with Compulsive Fascist Tendancy Disorder. Joe, sue. Sue NOW.
The tax agency "browsing" alone is something that is heavily covered by laws due to the fishing expeditions done during the Nixon era. He could get an easy win on the Ohio tax agency case and then use that as leverage to get the other agencies to settle quick. (Tax info in particular is subject to both criminal *and* civil actions if someone's information was viewed, let alone leaked.) We have now passed the number of criminal acts during any election in Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, Iran and Russia. I don't care who was elected in the democrat party, every office was won through criminal acts and it's in the public, but nothing will be done. The politicians and 52% of the population think a criminal winning at all cost is cool. Just wait until the results of the crimes show up at their doorstep. If you think the democrats spending the past two years trashing the economy for political gain was bad you haven't seen anything yet. Look at the stock market, down from 15,000 to 8,000 and the world economy in crisis. What is that about every action having and equal and opposite reaction? The reaction to all the crimes by the democrats in the past 22 months is now total distrust of anyone, by everyone. I won't and don't know anyone willing to invest in anything today. Bury your money and hope the politicians don't find it.

Exactly how is that different than talking about buying a business on TV? b) before he said anything on TV, nobody knew what Joe's tax liability status was. They looked into to it BECAUSE of what he said to Obama. If he had said "Yessir, I sure like the cut of your jib, Mr. Obama, sir!" do you seriously think anyone would have looked it up? Seriously? Mark, I tried to figure out if you were being sarcastic, but it sure didn't look like you were. Suing the State of Ohio does nothing to the people who did this. There needs to be criminal sanctions involved. I'm sure some law applies. Misappropriation of government funds or failure to perform the duties of their office.

If you have a problem with understanding your taxes and you go to the auditor's office, they sit down and go over it with you line by line until you both agree it is right. What you and that person talk about is private to you.
Now I see that since the Democrats have taken over the state govt, that part of it is totally different. Divest yourselves of subscriptions to any newspaper that will not support fair and balanced reporting. Cancel all magazine subscriptiions and buy only those you need. Shop only at stores that do not project a liberal agenda (look at their corporate contributions). Don't patronize shops that advertise in liberal outlets. Dont watch network television, ever! Until we realize that we are in a cultural war and stop supporting the enemy, we will continue to be minimized politically. First step. divest your circle of friends of any RINOs.

Instead of people in here just throwing up their arms and saying were f**k'd and doomed to a downward spiral of corrupt Democrat politicians, we as Conservatives need to copy a chapter of the Liberal handbook titled "Squeaky Wheel". We have the right message, but we don't know how to package it, market it, and put it in people's faces like those Lib organizations such as moveon.org, ACORN, ACLU, ACT UP, etc, etc...These organizations have been able to permeate the mindset of the public because they are the squeaky wheels on the front line. How many Conservative organizations can you rattle off? If JTP was being intimidated by Republicans in Ohio, you better believe that the Liberal organizations would be all over this and and squeaking incessantly. Conservatives need to get serious about how they are going to keep their message alive and how they are going to deliver it. Conservatives are brilliant and creative people, so my thought is to have Ace start a thread of brilliant ideas. Get some lucrative funding and get the ball rolling.

When this happens once, it can be attributed to a rogue partisan 'crat. When it happens in six seperate state agencies, it's an act by government. Must be some of that 'change' I've been hearing about!

This story illustrates the unprecedented transparency that technology is bringing to society. Just as (allegedly) Plumber Joe's privacy was breached, access logs in Ohio's information systems show when his data was accessed and from which particular government offices. That's powerful stuff. Data logs can probably enable a deeper investigation into precisely who made the access and whether it was legal. If people acted illegally, the digital evidence can lead to their punishment. Such transparency represents a big trend in society. hack-igations.com --Ben

Maybe Barry O can bring back Jane Renio as AG.? Perhaps she could burn Joe and his fellow worshppers to death in order to protect their right to seperation of State and Life. Personally, I think they should have shot him on the spot for brandishing a football(Ruby Ridge?).....Ah the Klinton years, good times,,,,good times indeed.
