Hmm let's see now. The area of Utah is about 54 million acres. Over 70% of it is already owned by the government in one way or another. That means the government owns about 38 million acres of Utah. So BLM wants to open up a mere 360,000 acres to oil and gas exploration? That is less than 1% of Utah's land that the government already owns. How sensitive can it all be? It's not like they are drilling in Zion National Park or anything (BLM doesn't own that).

Incidentally, am I the only one who thinks it is strange that Utah has a blue house district? If there is one state in the union that ought to be 100% red it is Utah.
