| From 48 to 52: Thanks, But No ThanksAs I noted the morning after the election, no matter how much I'm tempted, I'm going to avoid falling into the fever swamps of unbridled hatred the left has inhabited for the last eight years. I'm not happy about the election, but I'm not going to put a stupid "Not MY President" bumper sticker on my car. (A "Don't Blame Me...I Voted Red?" Maybe.) So far, I've been successful in keeping the blood pressure down. Then I saw this site: From 52 to 48 With Love, in which the left, the same group of spoiled little brats that threw a full-throated temper tantrum after losing in 2004 now tell us that everything's okay because they finally got the kool-aid flavored lollipop they wanted.As Treacher says "There's nothing easier than telling the guy you just beat that he should forget the depths you plumbed to do so." Precisely. It's a nice sentiment, but maybe you should have thought of it before taking the time to make signs like this, or apologizing to the world because those mean nasty Republicans didn't let you win. Sorry, folks. No frakkin' sale. We remember "Jesusland." And stuff like this. And if you have a few hours, scroll through Malkin's "Bush Derangement Syndrome" archive. We remember everything - being called racist warmongers, Christianist nutbags, racists, and all the rest of the vitriol you folks threw at us in your "AAAHHH CHIMPY MCBUSHITLER HALLIBURTON IS THE EVILEST" stage of political development. You spent the last eight years engaged in a disgusting orgy of divisive political hatred and now you want to play nice and pretend we're all united now? I for one am not going to treat President Obama the way you treated President Bush. Well, I for one will NOT support Obama nor will I do any feely goody thing for the Democrats. I have had it with "coming together"! @ 17, I'm not so sure. I think Rahm Emmanuel will be pulling the strings behind the scenes. It will be a big struggle between old-school Dems and new-school Dems who got their seats when RE led the DNC.
I don't think RE will let Israel go down the tubes (didn't he serve in the IDF?) If the bailout works, I still think we are looking at a 2 year recession, so GOP should get back the House in 2010 (if the RNC stops in-fighting). I grew up in a Democrat household in Chicago and went along reflexively (Democrat Good/Republican Bad) through college. The last time I voted for a Democrat was when I voted for Bill Clinton in 1992, and at the time I was orgasmic doing so. Then he started "governing," and I finally noticed how fundamentally full of shit the Donks are, individually and as a party. That's going to happen again, and perhaps on an even larger scale this time since Obama's failures are likely to be greater in scope, and we should be ready to embrace the numbskulls who come to their senses. True Story: A 50'something friend of ours voted R and his daughter voted D. She called after the election called to have a little fun rubbing his nose in it. I'm crazy, but I must admit, in someways I'm proud of how I became crazy. I got suspended, (long story, it's political, as in national) and me being a good student, and I came home, I was like 14, and I came home crying. AS A 14 year old boy! but I was such a good fucking student, that I thought this suspension ruined my life. The suspension wouldn't have ruined my life, if I followed the stupid rules that the school inflicted on me, but when I came home and I told my dad, my dad was pissed. and dad came into school with me the next day, and read my principles the riot act (dad was a Marine) and so the school took back, (how the fuck you take back a suspension?) the suspension, and let me attend school again. I was always in trouble, and when I deserved it, dad didn't do a fucking thing, but when I didn't deserve it, mom and dad were right there staring down the administration. Because Obama won by large enough margins in several states that it would a waste of time. Plus, recounts can't be had simply for the asking, can they? Now he is all over CNBC this morning saying "well now I believe in my heart that he is our president and now we have to get behind him". I used to like Kudlow, now I believe he has no backbone. These twentysomethng douchebags make me sick. They don't own homes, so they don't understand things like property taxes and escalating utility costs and underwater mortgages and credit crunches. They have entry level IT jobs, so they don't understand how entire industries like financial services are being wiped out right now thanks to liberal policies. They are in the lowest tax bracket and don't get the incentive-killing effect of higher tax rates on senior and more productive workers and executives. They didn't have to join the military so they have felt free to whine about a war they have no personal connection to, while others fought and died for them. They don't drive or they drive their tiny little urban cars, so they don't get what $4 a gallon gas does to the middle manager with the 50-minute commute or the soccer mom with 4 kids and an old Chevy Suburban that she can't afford to trade in for a shiny new Prius that won't hold her family. So they are able to indulge their fantasy of Hope and Change, get all movement-y and join the Obama cult. They feel great now because they have a President who won't be the butt of the Daily Show and David Letterman every night. I just covered this in my blog, but I wanted to contrast it with the Proposition 8 results in California. In California, protests and outrage are erupting from those who supported the "No on 8" movement. Interestingly enough, Proposition 8 failed in California by a margin of 48/52, the same margin between Obama and McCain in the Presidential election. Are those who are part of the 48 reaching out to move forward with those who supported 52? Nah, instead, they are threatining violence, protesting, and HuffPo has even started a movement to have the Mormon Church's (whose members supported "Yes on 8") tax-exempt status removed. If the information about Obama's plans, background and associates had been available to the American people, then I could accept that even though I disagreed strongly with their decision, at least they made it with their eyes open. Instead, that information was systematically suppressed, distorted and minimized. He lied about his intentions. He enabled voter fraud and illegal contributions. All these factors add up to a fraudulent election, and I will not recognize him as a legitimate president.
Unfortunately, large leftist democrat majorities were elected along with Obama, so there is no circumstance I can imagine in which there will be any restraint on the actions of Obama by the Congress or on Congress by Obama. They will rubber stamp each others' plans. We now effectively live in a one-party state, and I don't see that changing except in the way one-party states usually meet their fate. 1) I think I know the kid who has the sign about his father voting McCain and stuff. He appears to be one of my brother's friends. I know that I for one am not going to sit back and be nice. I plan on only using cash from now on. I know they will still be able to tax me, but there are some small business owners that will be happy to get any money they can keep off the books.
