Black Panthers holding night sticks are blocking the doors at voting sites in Philly.

Many precincts in PA are reporting 'problems.'

38 I do have a TV and there is absolutely nothing to support to this.  When did FOX supposedly show this.  All I see is FOX trying to find voting problems and reporting/grasping at any dumb thing they can find and nothing has been a problem.  So if there was such a thing going on, FOX would be all over it.  Lets either pony up the evidence or keep it real folks; Acting like idiots doesn't help our cause for the "reform movement" represented by McCain/Palin.  C'mon.

71 I'm up in NE PA and I was voter 172 at my polling place at about 8:00 this morning. I got in and out in 5 minutes or so.  From talking to people at work, it was hit and miss, some place were fast, others were taking up to an hour or so to get through.  There was an Obama pollwatcher at my location but he was opening the door for people and didn't appear to be doing much poll watching. 

I am not surprised in the slightest about the Philly shenanigans.  Not at all.

There was one serious piece of bullshit in that Fox report.  Where the reporter said that he'd been to a few precincts in and around Philly and there were no cops inside "because I guess that might intimidate some voters."  I live in Queens, and there's always a cop inside the polling precinct where I vote.  No one is intimidated by their presence.  Boy, Philadelphians sure intimidate easily.  Who knew?

93, my point is only that their intimidation tactics aren't going to help their cause.  Maybe they don't care about that, but I do.  As a McCain supporter, I know going in that Philly is going to go 85-15 against us, it's just a matter of turnout.  I'd assume a percentage of that 85% doesn't want to deal with that BS either.  If so that's good for us.

I figure we can win Penn, if we can keep Alleghany co. around a 10 point spread, keep the philly suburbs competitive, and win the rest (the T) around the low to mid 60's.  If they don't turn out in Philly quite like everyone assumes they will, then that changes the other numbers to our benefit.

They are reporting huge turnout everywhere, though few reports from Republican areas.  Looks like the college voters are coming out in Philly at least.  Also the SEIU and Obama campaigns have sent busloads in from NYC to get out the vote.  It looks like things are going smoothly so far.

There's a cop in every polling station/precinct in NYC. There was one at the polling station/precinct i voted at this morning in S.I.  Been that way for awhile. Keeps everyone civil. The only people I saw trying to sway voters were a couple of guys in DC 37 (Teamsters) t-shirts across the street from the polling station. They weren't even carrying signs. Not being very effective.

The most affecting part of the PUMA video for me was the older black woman who told of arriving at her polling place (in, IIRC, Pennsylvania--it was one of the battleground states in any event) to cast her vote for Hillary and encountering two large, intimidating black men who were telling voters that if they weren't voting for Obama they should just keep walking. She said that while she was there, several African Americans did just that as did she. This woman was heartbroken and my heart broke for her. Here she was old enough to remember how things were in the bad old days, how difficult it could be for black people to exercise their voting rights, and now she actually had a choice between a woman and a black man, progress in anybody's book. And then two fellow blacks attempt--and succeed in--turning her away because she chose the woman. What a blow that must have been.

I hope McCain wins for the sake of our country. But I also hope McCain wins for the sake of all those disaffected, disenfranchised Hillary voters. And I say this knowing full well that if Miz Hillary makes it back to the national scene we will once again be thrust on opposing sides. Should that be the case, hopefully we all will remember when we stood together and why.
