BREAKING! Obama wins in stunning, overwhelming landslide! (genghis)

According to CNN ”Dixville Notch has spoken: It’s Obama in a landslide.”

”DIXVILLE NOTCH, New Hampshire (CNN) -- Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama emerged victorious in the first election returns of the 2008 presidential race, winning 15 of 21 votes cast in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.”

Well, it was a good run, but now McCain is down 21 electoral votes and has no hope of regaining the lead in his bid for President of Dixville Notch, NH.

CNN has unconfirmed reports of unicorns descending from the clouds above. Stay tuned.

”The One Unicorn of the Apocolypse”

Now it begins...

1 They're really pimping it on the front page. Just like their "commentary earlier" talking about "only a miracle" for McCain. Sickening.

3 Yep, it's sickening.

But it's also accurate.

Those NH towns are small, but the partisan makeup vs the actual results does not bode well for McCain...at least in NH.

Here's the start of the ripoff. I pray Sen. McCain doesn't allow the "news" organizations any more influence than he should give a widow's fart. If they clamor for him to do anything, I hope he ignores them and waits for the real returns. The shit the cultists are going to be throwing today is unlikely to look anything like reality.

nope not true axelturfer, this same town voted for O in the NH primary, which Hill won, so i'll take it. It went big for w in 04 and w lost NH too.

31

from the PUMAs at Hillbuzz, memo to allah and other eeyores (emphasis mine):

We don’t want to beat a dead horse here (or, donkey, as the case may be), but we need to remind you all, once more, not to be Eeyores today.

The Obamedia is going to do to you what they did to Hillary supporters during the primaries — they are going to lie, and float all sorts of incorrect exit polls, and start revving up to declare Obama the winner.

Drudge Report — mark our words — is going to run that flashing red/blue siren he loves to report McCain losing all sorts of traditional Republican states around midday.  He’s going to get all of you Eeyores hyperventilating.

The goal of the Obamedia is to depress you so much you don’t turn out to vote. Our friend Astrid always falls for this garbage, and we know she is not all alone. She’ll be miserable all day because she’s never learned to turn out the media and just chill out.

This is going to go down just like Super Tuesday - where the media claimed Obama would win California, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and others…but Clinton won every state we predicted she’d win.

In fact, we were right about every state in the primaries except Missouri,  which Clinton lost by less than 1%. Otherwise, we were spot-on.

So, we know you Eeyores are going to drive everyone in your lives crazy today. You are going to panic and wet yourselves and email/call/bother all of your friends and relatives all day. You’ll forward bogus polls and terrible links to everyone, and depress people left and right.

We have no idea why you people behave this way and really wish  you would stop. Because we’ve been through this with you since New Hampshire and just think it’s all so ridiculous.

Here’s our advice: take a break from news today — consider everything you hear to be lies. Watch some cool movies (our favorite of all time is The Contender with Joan Allen), eat a nice sandwich, have a nap (or two), then tune into the Election Results around 10pm or so CST to see the final tallies add up and wait for a winner.

The rest of the day will just drive you over the edge — and then you will spread this Eeyore gloom and doom to everyone else, because that seems to be what you do.

We will never understand that.

But, we know you’ll do it, because you’ve consistently done it since January. It’s very predictable.

Just like the election results.

McCain wins 286-252…and America gets its first female Vice President.

And on November 5th, we start campaigning for 2012.

35 Odd that a total of 17 people voted in both primaries there but 21 voted in the general election.

And I have to ask again... can anyone name a single Presidential candidate who ever managed to win an election by campaigning on a promise to raise taxes?

Yep, but that's not what we're talking about.  Bush led in most pre-election polls, both tracking and otherwise.  And in 2000, Bush had the lead in most pre-election polls but Gore did lead in a few.  McCain leads in NONE.  He isn't even within the margin of error in one.

No, exit polls and pre-election polls are two separate things.

Exits have proven to be wrong in the past 2 Presidential elections.  The only time pre-election polls would be this wrong was back in 1948.

Greg, I need to ask - your cult leader, Obama. Was your mother like his, a loose flappered communist hippy cunt who abandoned her kid at the first whistle? If so, I think I understand - you're identifying with his pain, his cluelessness, his confusion and bewilderment of all the things that don't make sense when even your own mother despises you.

I recommend counselling, Greg. Axelrod should be able to be tapped for counselling - you should do it. Perhaps then you'll be able to appreciate reality without the overwhelming neurotic filters you now peer through at things. Filters made of a mother's disdain for her son, and for her country, and for her own hygeine.

You can get through this, Greg. Many people were whelped by filthy gape-cooched commie hippie slatterns as well, but they were adopted and loved by real people and now have decent, well-paying jobs and happy home lives.

All you have to do is admit you have a problem. That's the first step, Greg. Oh, and admitting your mother is repulsive. That's step two, I think.

Posted by: Christoph at November 04, 2008 04:06 AM (hawOV)

62 "Seriously, the trolling opportunities are far greater during the late afternoon/early evening of an election day."

Desperation, last minute GOTV suppression attempt.  Like I've said for weeks, the only way Obama wins is if the GOP vote is down.  The numbers are not there for Obama.  There are not enough new voters.  All the state polls confirm this.  They are +4 to +12D vs 2006 and still within MOE in most cases and practically tied in the important battleground states.  That is scary as hell if you are Obama.

At least Obama can go to bed with a lead, its like when the underdog wins the coin toss in the Super Bowl.  Its the only thing he can look back on that will have gone his way on election day.

Posted by: David at November 04, 2008 04:06 AM (HAdov)

63 It will really be something if Obama wins the popular vote and McCain take the electoral. Earlier I was looking at the polls and noticed how big Obama's leads are in the bluest of blue states. If most of his support is from safe states, the battlegrounds are more competitive.

Posted by: Bilby at November 04, 2008 04:06 AM (8iDn7)

64 Billygreg is just trying to find an effective line for tomorrow.  If he can hit the diehard insomniacs with something, it'll work against the line folks during the day.

OH!  I'm SOOOOOO demoralized.

You know they're an axelturfer when they mention the exact name of the poll

As for how the polls got everything wrong, well, the pollsters are herd animals, and the Op Chaos folks in combination with the PUMAs have thrown the polls' ability to gauge Dem support for Obama/percentage of the electorate.

Unless something fundamentally shifts in this country (which it hasn't) there's no way party spread is more than 6 points

Those polls were within a point or two and Carter led in some and Reagan led in some.  McCain leads in none.

And I know you don't think it means anything, but McCain severely underperformed in those NH towns.  And McCain's trusty "internals" that have everybody so encourged must have shown him doing well in NH since he went back recently for a town hall.

78 So, Greg, how does it feel to know that any female fellow astroturfer makes 88% as much as you do?

Posted by: RedFox84 at November 04, 2008 04:18 AM (e4tHE)

79 And the trending of the national polls is horrific

NO.  THEY.  ARE.   NOT.

Being a troll is one thinng, being a lying idiot is another.  Billygreg, if this continues, I'm going to tell your mother to stop sucking my cock and go down to the basement with the belt.

You have been warned.

Love,

87 I'm one who believes the hot wind that Satan is blowing is at Obambi's back, but the polls have been crap this election.  You should not have 10-15 point differences between polls, or polls that show fucking 20 point shifts in one frigging day because a candidate farted into the wind, or 10 point weighting favoring the Dems because they think the cult adoration of Obamessiah is going to translate into an unprecedented massive turnout of votes in all the history of mankind.

We are not just going to hand over the keys to the kingdom to a dirty Chicago politician that easy.  It is going to be a tight ass race, but if McCain loses, it's not going to be by the landslide these fucked up polls are making it out to be.

So fuck the polls, and fuck you Greg for doing Axelrod's work for him, you fuck for brains dipshit.

Folks, it is pretty well established that these guys are trolls and Axelturfers, so why respond to them? Over half the thread is eat up with responses to the trolls. This is one of their objectives. If you spend all he time answering trolls no time is spent arguing the point of the column,

Historically, every sixteen years, Dixville Notch is WRONG.  In 1960, they went for Nixon.  In 1976, they went for Ford.  In 1992, they went for Bush.  In 2008, they have gone for Obama.  Hope their predictive trend holds.

95

@91 - I laughed so hard it now hurts.

@92 - The reason to respond to an Axelturfer is that it shows your rage: Obama and his arrogance (his fucking presidental seal, etc.), the way the media is in the tank for him (too many examples to count), his thug like tactics with Joe the Plumber.  Responding to the troll with rhetorical baseball bats shows the other morons here that you are not dispirited, you are enraged.  You show you will vote and his stupid attempts to dispirt you have not only failed, they have backfired.

Greg and his ilk have so enraged me I've gone out of my way flipped three Democrats.  Normally, I wouldn't have bothered to do that because I wanted to appear nice.  But Greg has made me angry.

As to the article, the morons here hardly ever argue it, we wander off like magpies after a shiny object:  Oooh, let's do a Star Wars riff or say funny or ironic things using sock-puppets.

Posted by: Warthog at November 04, 2008 07:14 AM (D0L4x)

96 Good call axelturfing at 4:00 in the morning.  You can really get your message out to a wide audience that way.

Posted by: Steve L. at November 04, 2008 08:21 AM (o0YD+)

97 Since 1960, Dixville Notch has only been correct 50% of the time. You could flip a coin and get the same result. Of course, that doesn't prevent CNN from trumpeting the news on their front page.

Posted by: Beppo at November 04, 2008 08:38 AM (Ka5Jh)

98 Greg: collect your paycheck now. Seriously.

As for the significance of Obama "winning" in Hicksville Crotch, NH..... HAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Posted by: Dead Career Sketch at November 04, 2008 08:40 AM (JTN0y)

99 The only poll that counts is in that voting booth.  Simple as that.  Predictions mean nothing, no one ever won on predictions.   I intend to go to work,  go vote, then fix a nice dinner and watch a movie or two.  And maybe I'll check the results after the polls close out west.  I refuse to allow these Left Wingnuts, and that includes the media,  any more influence over my state of mind.  Enjoy the day everyone.

Posted by: Deanna at November 04, 2008 08:57 AM (/u06Z)

100 Deanna-
Damn straight, sister! After I get off work, I'm going to vote and then  have a nice dinner and a stiff drink and it's a Laura Gemser Emanuelle film fest for me.  I'll check the results before I go to bed and I wisely scheduled tomorrow as a day off so, if the worst happens, I won't have to listen to my idiot liberal co-workers.  I'll spend the day in the woods with the dogs not thinking about politics.

One thing is for sure it will finally be over. We had about a year of campaigning starting in 05 for the 06 elections then they went immediately into the primaries and the 08 elections. We have had three straight years of campaigning. I don’t know about the rest of ya’ll but I am tired of it.

Towns like that used to be solid Republican, when it was the party of Eisenhower, Lodge and Rockefeller.

I already voted, even though a vote for McCain in NY is wasted, thanks to NYC.  I survived Parris Island, so there was no chance Barry and his minions could ever discourage me.  If nothing else, I can legitimately say I voted against the second coming of Jimmy Carter.

YRM's comprehensive analysis is right on the money and supported by history.  Exit polls bolstered by the MSM in the last election showed Kerry ahead by 5%. We all know how that turned out.

108 McCain leads in NONE.  He isn't even within the margin of error in one.

WTF??  So you're saying it's a statistical tie in all but one poll even with an irrational weighting of party ID advantage and allocation of undecideds??

From your astroturfing lips to God's ear, asshat.  Your doom scenario would mean a resounding win for the good guys.  That tip about cashing your check quickly was a good one.

109 True Facts About Greg the Axelturfer:

1) He can suck his own cock, except he no longer has one due to a horrible peanut butter/Yorkshire Terrier accident.

2) Plays with the nipples of his sweaty man boobs every time he hears Obama speak.

3) Opened the boxes of all his collectible action figures, so his "friends" can participate in Obama victory tea party. Has extra large tube of Astroglide for his special me time with Optimus Prime.
