Root for the Redskins

It's that weird indicator again -- when the Redskins win their final home game before the election, the incumbent party wins the White House.

Already Covered by Gabe... And as readers note, this indicator failed in 2004.

Eh, good. I didn't want to vote for those guys anyhow.

1 In that case, we should probably root for a Redskin loss, since a McCain win would overturn all the rest of what passes for conventional wisdom.

2 Might as well.  ::sigh::  I hope I'm not rooting for 2 losers this year.  The Cowboys and the Mac.

9 Not certain, but I think the Redskins lost their homegame before the 2004 election - I would go with the Jets having a 5 or more wins the Sunday before the election has decided last 6 elections (or something) - for those who really believe such things hold sway (read: desperate for anything)

well they lost in 04 and w still won but that game had a bad call that screwed them over, i'll root for them just for fun

here's 100% indicators that so happen to have gone for Mac:

- cookie contest since 92 where potential first lady sends a recipe (cindy won)

- whoever wins halloween mask sales wins the elction (mccain/palin won)

- whoever wins cabbage patch kid auction wins election (mccain/palin won)

- when LA Lakers get to the finals (win or lose), the rep party wins the election

- nickelodeon poll had barry winning by 2 when kerry ran away w/ it 4 years ago

- and oh yeah barry always overperforms in polls (just ask the PUMAswho thought obama would win every damn primary because of the polls)
