| A Little HistoryHave I mentioned how much I love the PUMAs? Just a few reminders of what was being said before the 2004 election: Zogby's call? Kerry, 311; Bush, 213. The electoral vote call made by one of those aggregating sites?Electoral Vote (based on composite polls) - Kerry 298, Bush 231 NBC's Chuck Todd was so confident of a Kerry win, he called the race in May 2004: If you look at key indicators beyond the neck-and-neck support for the two candidates in the polls--such as high turnout in the early Democratic primaries and the likelihood of a high turnout in November--it seems improbable that Bush will win big. More likely, it's going to be Kerry in a rout.Seems his "first read" was a wrong one. Polls are not science, pundits are not psychic and nothing is decided until the final ballot is cast tomorrow. Or, in the event of a narrow McCain win, until the Obama lawyers lose their final appeal to the Supreme Court. Comments1

Slublog, there should be ANOTHER reason we love those PUMA'S ~ They are working their ASSES off for McCain!!! http://tiny.cc/PBQ4g
"Sunday: Live From Scranton" I am at Democrats for McCain Headquarters in downtown Scranton [ths: and SHE'S from FLORIDA!] and this place is buzzing. There are a LOT of people in this little office. We are waiting for the canvassers to return. Harriet Christian is trying to catch McCain at the airport. She and her bus posse tried to get into his rally here in Scranton earlier this afternoon but were turned away by the fire marshall. The place was overflowing. ...I recognize a lot of the volunteers here from Denver. They are the die hard PUMAs who were determined that the DNC were not going to get the best of them. But the manager of this office, Carol, made her decision when Hillary suspended her campaign. ...As a Pennsylvanian from the Scranton area, she was offended by
Obama’s remarks regarding bitter small towners who cling to God and
guns. Obama hasn’t reached out to the working class and the sexism
really got under Carol’s skin. She decided in McCain’s favor. Then,
this former Hillary supporter approached the McCain campaign and
convinced them to open an office for Democrats for McCain because she
felt this area of Pennsylvania would be receptive to McCain’s message. Posted by: tree hugging sister at November 03, 2008 11:29 AM (RAqf7) 6
You can argue that NBC is biased...they are. You can argue that Rasmussen oversamples Dems...he does. But when even Battleground shows the tidal wave coming for Obama, then it's time to panic. The worst thing is that the late deciders seem to be breaking heavily for Obama.

My prediction: Obama wins the PV by a couple of points but McCain wins the key battleground states and the EV. Riots break out in several cities and Obama's victory party in Chicago turns into a violent mob scene. Obama's lawyers start challenging the results in all close states while the MSM begins the narrative that McCain should step aside and allow Obama to become president for the good of the country. McCain politely tells them to go piss up a rope. End result: McCain and Palin are inaugurated in January. Liberal heads begin popping like popcorn. Dont miss - insider on Democrats campaign Finance fraud (go to Michelle Malkin for the whole story)
"I have followed the trail from the DNC to a PAC called ACTBLUE, which is responsible for the ecommerce portion of Democratic Party websites. ACTBLUE contracts the online fundraising portion to a company called, AUBURN QUAD. Auburn Quad has developed a software program, called Indigo, to make fund raising quick and easy. The secret sauce of Indigo appears to be the part of the program that turns off the Address Verification and CVV2 security features, which allows for untraceable, unlimited online donations. There is no plausible explanation for these security violations other than wanting to skirt around campaign finance rules. I would vigorously argue that a large portion of Obama’s $579 million in individual contributions is in violation of campaign finance laws. Many donations may have been made by non US citizens, made in excess of the $2,300 individual limit, and made on stolen credit card numbers. This fraudulent donation scandal goes deeper than just the presidential election. 33 Democratic Candidates running for Senate have sites that are out of compliance. And a large number of Democratic House seats as well." Posted by: Topsecretk9 at November 03, 2008 11:46 AM (7a+Ji) 38

McCain/Palin landslide! Pass it on! My fellow Americans, all we have to do is get out the vote and this thing is ours. There is NO WAY this great country will put an unknown with so many negatives like Obama at the helm over a great American like John McCain. It just isn't going to happen! The two great related stories after this campaign: 1. How the media completely failed to cover and anticipate the effects of PUMAs/Blue Dogs 2. How the media completely failed to vet the major party candidate while there was time to do something about it, practically guaranteeing the eventual victory of John McCain. It will be THEIR FAULT he won! Had the media done their job in the primaries, Hillary would be the Dem nominee and she'd have won the whole shebang. And I don't think most Republicans would have had a huge problem with that. Palin wouldn't have been the VP pick and the base would have sat back and watched it all unfold. MSM -- It's YOUR FAULT your guy is about to get CREAMED! BWAHAHAHAHAHAH! ELEVENTY!!!1! Posted by: ConcernedCitizen at November 03, 2008 11:46 AM (hmDr/) 39

The only way a person of such low stature and personal credentials could ever be elected president is if his political party in conjunction with a leftist media creates him, develops him, protects him and lies about him. Then they must give birth to a scenario of inevitability by demonstrating his desirability through invalid or bogus polls and conjured testimonials. All of this has been done for Obama and he is in fact the “Frankenstein” candidate.
For God’s sake don’t be influenced by the pollsters. Fundamentally, polling is a straightforward endeavor. It simply attempts to draw a small but representative and unbiased sample of some population then generalize the results of some test of that sample to the population as a whole. If the sample fails to adequately represent the total population then the conclusions drawn from the sample will be invalid. Media polls are flawed in numerous ways and frequently are nothing but mathematical garbage, particularly when they attempt to generalize their results to the entire voting population of the United States. They are a lot like the old traveling snake oil salesmen . . . until you actually watch them make their elixir you could believe it will actually cure your rheumatism. Never accept a commercial media poll at face value before you investigate their sampling techniques, interrogators and all of their sampling statistics. At best, polls can only give results that are less than perfect and are always subject to some measurement error. Commercial pollsters are paid for their efforts and have a vested interest in their client’s agendas and objectives, so one should always be skeptical of any published outcome. With regard to this election . . . screw the polls. Go vote and take your friends and relatives with you. 27. I agree that the Chicago party could be a most epic riot. Frankly, I think win or lose there will be riots (exhibit A: Phillies). But, a LOSS will result in truly epic, national guard level riots. Mark my word.

Not even close. Your $20 should get $200 from him. Intrade contracts for McCain are going for $10 right now ($100 if he wins). I bought in at the 9-1 point, so if McCain wins, I'm sitting on a $23,800 profit. I love it when leftists buy their own propaganda. And they are such arrogant assholes on their forums - they insult and denigrate anyone who isn't positive that Obama is a dead sure 100% win, they actually mock 10-1 odds as a dumb buy - that the schadenfreude as I endlessly taunt them with taking their money will be sweeter than the money itself. Yeah - there have been 2 instances where open registration have come at
crucial times of this , and the 'turfers have taken full advantage.
There's no way Allah was naive to the fact they would do it.
So after being accused by one of our commenters last week of having a "financial motive" in seeing Obama win, now I'm basically being accused of trying to help David Axelrod out. Get this straight: The reason registration's open is because political interest is peaking and we're trying to lock in as many readers as we can before the inevitable traffic falloff next week. A few trolls might slip in but the vast majority will be right-wingers who've been waiting for months to comment on the site. Skim the comments in the registration thread if you don't believe me. And yes, Michelle and Ed both thought opening reg was a good idea. Have fun with your paranoia, guys. Posted by: Allah at November 03, 2008 12:24 PM (wsk0o) 92

Started stocking up on ammo this weekend..GO MCAIN/ PALIN
A little late there bud.... But nice to see others doing what's needed. Bought a case of 5.56 at the gun show this weekend. I actually waited a lot longer than I was comfortable with. You see, here in Calif., gun shows are few and far between, so you have to take them when you can get them. More importantly, took my rifle and pistola out to the range on Sunday to get in a little practice, which was long overdue for me. Ammo on-hand is nice, but you gotta keep the skills up. Just saw CNBC had Obama shill/reporter John Harwood looking a little worried. Why? Early voting shows the Messiah with a 51-43 lead, well within the desired "blowout" early hopes. Dylan Ratigan on CNBC pressed Johnny who reluctantly admitted this is "maybe" hopeful for McCain. To quote Flounder from Animal House- "Is this great or what!". The electoral vote call made by one of those aggregating sites? Electoral Vote (based on composite polls) - Kerry 298, Bush 231 Yes, this site's Nov. 1, 2004 aggregation was incorrect. But the election in 2004 took place on Nov. 7. Starting on Nov. 4 and continuing until election day, that site projected Bush with a commanding lead. Even though he put in his little proviso well it is not over. but avoided the yet. they asked what would happen if each was president. He said the world would realize the American dream is real if obama wins. When asked if there will be rioting in the streets if McCain winds he answered "well, people will wonder what happened as the polls have overwhelmingly indicated BO".
That is when I turned off the tv and camer here to post this. I could not understand why they needed the polls in the tank for them too, they had the MSM, now I understand completely. The polls clearly indicate Obama is inevitable. We, as Republicans, should do the noble thing that will allows us to beg for mercy from our future Benevolent Liberal Overlords and just give up. Don't vote. Don't think about voting. After all, Obama is up over 77% in every poll, and McCain is working on his concession speech, and even George Bush has privately called to pre-congratulate Obama on his inevitable victory. Even Karl Rove has called this one for Obama, and both Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh have conceded that they will, in fact, be voting for Obama. Of course, although I have always voted Republican since birth, I will be voting for Astrobama--I mean, Obama--in this election, and all future elections, until we stop having them. In the meantime, all hail our new Maximum Leader.

McCain is going to win and may I strongly second the love for the PUMAS sentiment. McCain is going to win because this is America and not some banana republic! Americans are fiercely independent and do not like people like the media or Obama telling us we HAVE TO support a candidate, or we are racists.
We do not all wear flag pins, but we do not like having our military slimed by someone who has not held one subcommittee meeting on Afghanistan, but thought it was okay to say some very nasty things about those fighting in Afghanistan. We also like our money. We do feel for the poor, and I would be willing to bet most of us have given to different charities. We despise Congress with a passion for not properly managing our money, and telling US we have to live on less. Obama is in favor of SPENDING our money, and giving it to folks who might need it, but it would not be an independent move supported by the American people. We like to chose our favorite charities, not have them chosen for us. I think JTP explained Obama's position on money very well! Whether you are a choice or life person is not the issue regarding Infanticide. The ability to be one of the other regarding abortion is an American freedom. Our arguments back and forth is a freedom of speech. However, once a baby is born alive it needs protection. Not aiding the baby is for some or most of us is crossing the line. I would be willing to bet most people support defending the most innocent of us. If you do not like America that is fine with us. We have some issues and are willing to admit we are not perfect. But to surround yourself by an overwhelming number of anti-Americans is rather odd. I have always wondered why if you hate America so much, then uh, leave. I have been to several foreign countries and I am always glad to come back home if for no other reason than our marvelous selection of great toilet paper. LOL! And the fact that I do not HAVE to use public transportation to get around. We have more than one electrical outlet in a room and better television viewing opportunities. We are not so anti-American that we like people who bomb police stations, private homes, or support re-education camps or death if you will not submit to these camps. I think McCain will win and people like Greg will have to go to Hugo Chavez's joint to find relief or a new home that supports his views. Americans are not ready to go for someone like Obama. Posted by: Christoph at November 03, 2008 12:40 PM (hawOV) I agree. Though I would point out that the moral is to the material 3-to-1 or some such nonsense. If you are a political partisan, and you are in the last few weeks of an election campaign, you pretty much just need to drink the koolaid and get to work. The time for a thoughtful, nuanced discussion of your candidate's pros and cons in long past. I think that is why the Noonans and Buckleys and Parkers (and to a lesser extent Frum, Will et al) are so deplorable. Especially since McCain is exactly the sort of bipartisan cross-the-aisle sort of candidate many of them have been calling for all along and, now that he's got those of us knuckledragging morons on board (thanks, in large part, to Palin), these feckless twits have jumped ship. If not for this rather odd spectacle of alledgedly conservative "thinkers" thinking with their asses, nobody would be upset at Allah. He'd just be amusing. BTW, the exit polls called it for John Kerry in a landslide. The day of the election. Ooops.
Historically, all trends and superstitions point to an Obama win--the incumbent party doesn't win in circumstances such as these, generally, although the incumbent party has always lost to Old White Guys with Anglo-Irish names, so if there is some sort of hidden Xenophobia or Bradley Effect lurking out there, it may throw it McCain's way. Or, who knows, maybe the general public will decide they don't want the socialism Obama is promising will mysteriously benefit them in some way. But that latter doesn't sound as promising as rooting for the hidden Democratic racists and Xenophobes to vote for their victory and accidentally avoid electing the unholy political offspring of the marriage of FDR, LBJ, George McGovern and Jimmy Carter. Historical trends are on Obama's side. Starting with the incumbent party never winning when the incumbent president is so down in the polls, the incumbent party losing the presidency after they lose seats in the previous midterms, the tendency of a bad economy to favor the challenger, etc. But you know what? After having said all that, I still don't trust the polls. At all. And I'm going to go vote for Palin/McNugger and hope that, the day after, it's like Christmas morning and I get to drink the sweet, sweet tears of weeping liberals as the cry over the collapse of the fascist liberal Utopia that could have been. And I'll get to gloat. "You thought you were so smart, attacking Palin's family. You thought you were brilliant. You thought it was brilliant to go after Joe the Plumber. Who's smart, now?" Well, I can dream, can't I? Posted by: Magical Medical Mystery Tour at November 03, 2008 12:57 PM (dH4fW) 139

Not even close. Your $20 should get $200 from him. Intrade contracts
for McCain are going for $10 right now ($100 if he wins).
Well, no it won't, because it'll be -their- money. Qwinn, I'm thinking of signing up on Intrade to bet on McCain also, but if you lose do you lose only what you bet? McCain's at 9 right now, so if I bet $100 and lose, do I only lose the $100 no matter what the odds are at the time it closes? Sorry, I'm new at this. I spent the weekend working side by side with the PUMAs at the Scranton Democrats for McCain office, and I've got to echo: GOD BLESS THE PUMAS! Those people have been magnificent. I’ve worked my ass off on behalf of McCain Palin IN SPITE OF the negativity from places like Hot Air, not because of, and it took extra effort to do so, because everybody knows that working hard for hopeless things is simply harder to do than working hard for reasonably possible things. In the end, I can’t help but wonder, regardless of how things turn out tomorrow, what the harm would have been had Hot Air taken more of a Hillbuzz approach in terms of enthusiasm and commitment? I know, I know. That would have been “happy talk,” and happy talk is the worst possible thing ever because somehow being depressed and pessimistic fires up the base and wins elections. I know, I know. I blogs like Hot Air try too hard to actually promote winning the election then their precious integrity is threatened, and that would be the worst thing ever because somehow actually beating liberals and socialists in elections should not be a primary concern for the promoters of conservatism. I will donate 100.00 to your favorite charity if McCain wins and you donate 100.00 to my favorite charity if Obama wins. First, as a liberal, your favorite "charity" is government, and the productive among us (who are all pretty much voting for McCain) already make plenty of involuntary donations to that particular "cause". Second, no one here believes that you're capable of raising $100 without stealing it or borrowing it from your mommy. So you're just not a good credit risk. Trust no MSM report or poll until after California polls close.
There will be a huge effort to suppress the Republican vote tomorrow. Lots of "leaks". Lots of stories about BO supporters celebrating his "victory". Don't believe any of it. Even if you're sure we've lost, vote anyway. Vote straight Republican ticket. Regardless who wins we need to maintain as much as we can in Congress and the Senate. Vote.
