| Minnesota in Play ?(Kat-Mo)Since the comments are already going crazy, let me put up a little link to Hot Air North showing Minnessota within the margin of error. 60 hours until votes are counted in Minnesota, Barack Obama’s advantage over John McCain is back inside the margin of sampling error, according to SurveyUSA’s final look at one of 2008’s most interesting states. Obama 49%, McCain 46%, in interviewing underwritten by KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, WDIO-TV Duluth and KAAL-TV Rochester, 10/30/08 through 11/01/08. Obama led by 6 two weeks ago, now by 3. The late break to the GOP is occurring among men and seniors.Read ye, KOS kids, and weep. Comments1

I've been a life long Republican, but after the last 8 years of Bushitler/Cheney regime and failed policies, I just can't take it anymore.
With Barack, I won't have to worry about putting gas in my car or paying my mortgage. I'm voting with my heart for hope and change. Besides, the USSA has a certain ring to it, even to a life long Republican. /astroturfing off Posted by: BillyBob at November 03, 2008 08:50 AM (v9vTw) 6

My husband made a bet a few months ago with a top insider in the Obama campaign that no matter who won the spread would not be more than 10 points. A few weeks later the guy said I will make you another bet the spread will be at least 5. (nervous my husband was right about 10 and this guy wanted to hedge his bet.) Last night my husband got an email saying that my husband would win both bets. Obama's internal polling must look awful. He guy still claimed Obama would win so please IGNORE those gallop polls.
Go McCain/palin Posted by: Rachel at November 03, 2008 08:51 AM (4EQPW) 8
Oh, that Minnesota poll is still good news even if I'm right and the GOP falls short there... it shows McCain's numbers very similar to Bush's 2004 numbers, at least in Minnesota.
Plus the GOP and 527s poured more effort into PA this time around, and Obama fucked up royally there... I'm not even sure the great Joe Biden from Scranton can save him. Posted by: Christoph at November 03, 2008 08:52 AM (hawOV) 9

TRO, you almost certainly know this already, but just in case you didn't, Gallup's 11-point lead for Obama poll yesterday had 6% more Dem respondents than Reps and -- inexplicably -- they weighted it by adding another 6% Dems... a full 12% weighting in favour of Democrats.
Those numbers are nuts. Obama may win, but not by 11-points nationally. I thought the idea pollsters are intentionally salting polls in favour of Obama was overblown, but that Gallup final poll is really making me question that. It sounds like malfeasance. Obama's internal polling must look awful. He guy still claimed Obama would win so please IGNORE those gallop polls i've heardsome rumors that they're hoping supression of GOP will save them and that if they pick up a bunch of rural red states itll make up for PA OH FL which all 3 seem to be going for Mac the way things are, remember if obama loses all 3 he's screwed unless people in those rural red states have a socialits momment ps: hell yeah just found out my bucs' Mike Alstott is suporting mac and will be w/ him at a rally in the Ray Jay stadium parking lot, awesome, FL is so staying red Posted by: YRM at November 03, 2008 08:56 AM (004wR) 13

Even though I think the HillBuzz gay dudes are overly certain, the reality is they've been a huge boost in morale. They've really provided some leadership to the GOP blogosphere. I'm a hell of a lot more excited by McCain's chances today than I have been. Now I wasn't one of those pessimists saying it was over, but I thought it was looking bad for a while. But McCain started fighting again, Palin kept on fighting, Ace rejoined the fight (and other conservative bloggers, thanks in part to people like the gay dudes at HillBuzz -- sorry -- I'm needling the 0.003% of Ace's audience that are Paleoconservatives), and Obama fucked up royally while Biden kept on fucking up. He's been awesome too! yeah and this new coalgate audio could keep VA red and hand PA and the elction to Mac, the pessimism i had 2 weeks ago is gone, Mac said he'dmake a firious comeback and he's delivered. Now it's up to GOTV efforts and whether this country goes socialist or not. ps: the gay dudes at hillbuzz may be overly excited and certain but it shows me that if obama wins there's no way (unless we see freaking communism take over), that he last more than 1 term, it'll be like carter all over again but i fear worst.oh well if the messiah pulls it off i can say i told you so to obama voters 4 years from now and 2010 will probably see a republican year Posted by: YRM at November 03, 2008 09:05 AM (004wR) 16
NBC's final garbage poll is BO by 8- I cannot imagine they had less than 10 percent more Dems sampled. NBC wish fulfillment due to BDS, and totally misreading the reasons for the 2006 GOP losses. Which is key to why McCain WILL win- Palin singlehandedly took the main gripe conservatives had with McCain and the way the GOP spinelessly ran from their roots in 06, off the table and firing up the better base. This race is inside the margin of error- lets all vote and crush our enemies hope. Posted by: jjshaka at November 03, 2008 09:06 AM (mtU/O) 17
I still don't think it'll happen. But like I said in the comments over at HA, this does give a look at what's happening to public sentiment on Obama. It's just that this kind of shift in voter sentiment takes time, and I hope it's not too late.
But if he does get elected, I'm guessing it'll be the first time a president has taken office with a 15% approval rating. Posted by: Eric at November 03, 2008 09:07 AM (quZLX) 18

spypeach, I think voter fraud is going to be a factor. Unfortunately I have some strongly worded comments on these threads about that because it's obviously part of what Obama does.
FWIW, I just left this comment at Hot Air and it sums up my thinking on the Leader: “I’ve never witnessed a media so boldly “in the tank” for a candidate in my lifetime.” I believe this combined with Obama’s thuggish political methods, his cold-mindedness (infanticide anyone), his megalomania (symbols of power including his personal Seal, speech to Berlin, etc.), his charisma, and his seeking out of radical allies over a lifetime… put(s) America at risk of a dictatorship within the next few to ten years. As much as I would love to believe this one poll showing McCain in the margin of error in Minnesota, it's just one poll. And more importantly, Minnesota is next to Massachusetts in terms of how liberal it is. I would like to be wrong, but I just don't see it. I too, am very worried about voter fraud. I think I'm going to need to see some numbers leaning mccain's way today with some of the more reputable polls before I can feel more confident.

Obama Promises to Bankrupt Coal Companies.
That right there was the October surprise. Thanks, San Francisco Chronicle! If the Chron had released this stuff back in January when Obama said it, there would have been enough time for him to spin it away, but coming here on the final two days, there's not time for a full response to this blunder. So, by playing it too close, and burying the quote, the Chron has effectively shot Obama in the ass in Ohio, PA, Virginia, and possibly parts of the inter-mountain west he thought he had a chance at. I think McCain's people realized the ACORN fraud was so rampant in Milwaukee they had no chance to overcome it, so they pulled resources for elsewhere. Don't forget, Milwaukee is where ACORN gave the homeless and dopers free cigs and beer for their votes the last two elections. Complete and utter fraud. The Dems have a built-in 100,000 vote "scum premium" in Wisconsin because of this crap. Add in another 20,000 bullshit "votes" from "transient" UW students in Madison, and you get the picture. Respectfully, if they had run that back in January, Obama would be watching Hillary campaigning right now. To some extent you're probably right, although, Hillary did manage to destroy Obama in Coal Country (PA, OH, WV) without it. I think the great Zombie was right when he/she pointed out that the liberal cocoon usually backfires, because this stuff has a way of coming out eventually, and when it does the Democratic candidate is always unprepared for it. By the time the Republican gets to November, there's nothing that isn't already out there (barring the 30 year-old DUI arrest). Just look at this cycle. When was the last time you heard any comparable bombshell revelation about McCain? June? July? February? There's nothing left to investigate about him. All of his blemishes are out there and figured into the results. And, now Palin is in the same place. There's almost nothing left to hit her with. This is nice, because it means my vote might end up meaning more than an addition to the national vote for McCain, but I find it unlikely that he can win here in MN. MN has not gone R in a long time. However, you might be surprised the learn how many of the Democrats here are conservative Democrats. Perhaps not enough of them, but a significant amount are. If the state does go for McCain, though, I will of course stick it in the face of the Dems I know, if only just a little.
Posted by: cranky-d at November 03, 2008 11:20 AM (kt4mn) 74
#33 - MN has a GOP senator and a GOP governor - it is not as lefty as MA but has the same issue as the other midwest states - large blue cities offset the red suburbs. I'm not sure McCain will take MN but if O isn't getting the blue collar Dems in PA, OH, etc the same is probably true in MN. #37 - Bush almost won WI in '04 (and perhaps did as there were reports of Dem chicanery). WI is the same story as MN, PA so McCain might pull it out. Given the similar demographics in MI, MN, and WI to PA and OH I've thought McCain should have been campaigning there all along. Perhaps all the last minute negatives about O will help bring these states over as well. Posted by: AWW at November 03, 2008 11:23 AM (rCL2S) 75

CO and AZ? AZ going Obama? You must have misheard. AZ is McCain's home state, and except for that one recent wacky outlier poll it's always been red. Rove must've said either NV or NM, either of which is more believable.
Look, I think we're gonna lose tomorrow, but not even I think we're gonna lose AZ. If we do, then killself. Posted by: Jeff B. at November 03, 2008 11:59 AM (OEoRy) Posted by: TXMarko at November 03, 2008 12:23 PM (sYv+X) 79
If Mac and Sarah take MN I'm going to party for three days even if Comrade Zero wins overall. The problem up here is the farmers and folks on the Iron Range that should be voting conservative keep voting for cash from Washington and then piss and moan about high gas prices and high taxes - idiots. Still... I'm going to go throw the lever for GOP tommorrow. Go Sarah, go!

No republican win Minnesota, not even Reagan. Why? Because Minnesota has a small lopphole that Democrats have become experts at exploiting. A registered Minn. voter can attest to up to five people that they are new to Minnesota and should be allowed to vote. For decades Democrats have used this to bring people in from neighboring states to cast ballots. For a Republican to win in the state, they would need to be ahead in the polls by a minimum of 10%. Where was this "we came close" quote again? If that's true, and he admitted that publicly, well......that's very good, right? Why aren't people making a big deal of this? Or did he just mean 'we came close' in Ohio? (That's still pretty good news though). Posted by: AussieMarcus at November 03, 2008 06:48 PM (tndi+) 84
