| Out of Context (Kat-Mo)So, Obama and his campaign think they are going to spin their way out of the last little surprise from Obama's past. In response to the audio coming out indicating Obama is willing to see energy prices for consumers "skyrocket" in order to force coal plants out of existence with unprecedented "cap and trade" taxation, Obama's campaign team responds it was "taken out of context". Why? because in the interview Obama said that “this notion of no coal, I think is an illusion.” Obama and McCain have both pushed for technology to develop cleaner burning coal. “What we have to do then is figure out how can we use coal without emitting greenhouse gases and carbon,” Obama told the Chronicle in the interview.Right. The only issue here is the alleged destruction of energy producing coal plants. Not that, that isn't egregious enough. But let's stick to the real point here. While driving these businesses out of business, he's willing to see energy prices "sky rocket", making it extremely difficult for the average citizen to continue heating their homes. We are talking about 100% increase in energy bills, if not higher. As if the recent horrifying spike in oil prices hadn't already driven energy prices higher by up to 50% in the last two years. He's not just talking about bankrupting energy companies that don't meet his standards, he's talking about energy prices that will drive other businesses out of business and destroy jobs. He's talking about making it hard for even middle class families to heat and cool their homes. He's talking about possibly creating a second economic crisis that will drive even more people into foreclosure and bankruptcy. And, let's not forget the elderly and others on fixed incomes. How is Obama planning to offset this horrific rate hike?
Recently, some fellow was on AoSHQ talking about the great "income disparity" in this nation and the necessity to "level the playing field" by increasing taxes on the "rich" and providing Obama's tax welfare to those who don't pay taxes. What I would like to know from this gentleman and those like him is if they have ever actually passed any basic math class. Because, simply put, with the cost of energy, transportation, housing and food rising to $5,000 or greater per year per household, what good is a $1500 or even $3,000 "refundable tax credit" when these people are going to see a net cost of living increase of $2,000-$4,000? That is not "spreading the wealth around". That is whole sale destitution of an entire citizenry with the hardest hit, in fact, being the poor and the middle class. The problem in this country is that there are too many who have a mythological view of American history. Some where, some how, people have romanticized the "sacrifices" of the depression era along with the great crime wave that accompanied it. Subsistence living on the government dole with long soup lines and 30% unemployment has turned into a national triumph when, in fact, it was a terrible tragedy. When, in fact, our great grandparents and grand parents worked extremely hard to leave that era behind and create a better life for their descendants. People are willing to vote Obama in because he says the word "sacrifice" within soaring rhetoric, further adding to its "romance" as if accepting a government manufactured crisis "for the greater good" is the thing "we've been waiting for" and will somehow purify the American soul. Someone should remind our erstwhile citizenry that there was a great number of our recent ancestors in the depression era who put sawdust in their bread as a partial substitute for flour because they simply could not afford to buy the flour they needed to make real bread. One could ask exactly how "purifying" was that experience and who wants to repeat it. In fact, the middle class appears strangely willing to sell their votes for about a $500 tax decrease when there is every indication that he is planning to increase the cost of living by ten fold that return and allow Bush's tax cuts to expire, effectively making that "tax credit" nil. It is political slight of hand and it is most egregious because our media and our representatives in government are willing to perpetrate this great scam for some inexplicable reason. "Global warming" is not a good enough reason to impoverish an entire nation. Ask the Europeans who are busy trying to nullify or extend any part of the Kyoto Treaty that has stagnated their industries and added to their increasing unemployment. Senator Obama claims that his plan was taken out of context. The only thing that has been "out of context" in this entire election is the idea that Obama is some sort of moderate or that he actually gives a damn about the poor or the elderly or the middle class or the future of this nation. Minnesota. I'm really going to love watching the MSM exploding heads when McCain wins this and by a pretty comfortable margin. Posted by: biff at November 03, 2008 08:18 AM (b1fbK) 4

Earth to Obammy: Coal is made up of carbon; you can't use it without emitting carbon, you fucking nit. I would much rather have a TRUE REPUBLIC ... functioning in the manner designed by our Founding Fathers ...
Even if it geographically smaller than the "Obama Socialist State" that is coming. I can tell you - you Yanks in the north may put up with Obama and his antics - but here in the deep South ... We won't. And if we need to secede from the Union again ... then so be it. And if Obama sends his "civilian security force" after us - then we'll blast that too. We WOULD ... however ... like to take the flag of the United States for our own - since we will be the ones living by the principles of the Founding Fathers who adopted it. You guys can design another flag - I would suggest something in RED with YELLOW highlights. I'm only half-joking here. What? Is Obama bent on destroying the nation with these stupid policies he intends to enact? Surely this man is not so stupid as to believe these policies have a hope in hell of working? Surely he's doing this to destroy the nation? WTF? Posted by: HondaV65 at November 03, 2008 08:36 AM (FMNvh) 17
Wow, that Survey USA MN poll is pretty shocking! Of course the others are well into the double digits (Obama lead). It's gonna be interesting to see which ones turn out to be dead wrong. Either way there are gonna be polling organizations embarrassed.

Seriously though, once in this country there was a little even called the Whiskey Rebellion. Methinks if this Commie bastard gets his hands on things we're going to see a much much larger scale version of that, but this time its going to succeed. JavaJoe,
Word. I know a -lot- of former Democrats here in NJ that will be voting for McCain. Seriously. And if you look at the trend of the NJ vote in the past 3 elections, it's been trending red for years. 1996: Clinton +18 2000: Gore +16 2004: Kerry +7 Continue that trend, and NJ goes red this year. I seriously think it might. If nothing else, I think it's going to be close enough that it's going to wow a lot of people and give McCain a lot of momentum on election night. Look at this douchebaggery by Mark Halperin, allegedly a MSM'r that leans right, sickening bullshit: "Barring an extraordinary shock, Barack Obama will win more than 270 electoral votes on Tuesday, giving him the White House. Hours before voting starts, John McCain has no clear path to reaching that same goal. In fact, based on interviews with political strategists in both parties, election analysts and advisers to both presidential campaigns - including a detailed look at public and private polling data - an Obama victory with well over 300 electoral votes is a more likely outcome than a McCain victory." What is totally idiotic about classifying carbon dioxide as a pollutant is that it is a an essential compound for photosynthesis. carbon dioxide + water + light energy → glucose + oxygen. It is the reason why we have an oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere. Earth is a closed system. There must be some process which turns the plants back into CO2 and water. Otherwise there will be no new plants and then there will be no us.Personally, I prefer the conspicuous consumption of the stored energy from plants as my part to insure the survival of life on earth.

Setting the course that bankrupted of our nation's investment banking system, triggering a recession to deplete Americans' investments in order to claim for the ignorant that only Socialism can cure the evils of Capitalism. Just how far has Obama already gone? Establishing the rule of fraud overwhelming the rule of law not only economically, but election racketeering amalgamating fraud from the grass roots to the national DNC and Majority Ruling Party. Unless defeated, this fraud will permeate into the White House and throughout the powerful POTUS appointments throughout our government and around the world. Obama's gonna put "da man" down for the worker and the drone alike. Bankrupt American industries with the world's highest taxes, caps and fines. You want to drill, mine, refine, produce or manufacture under Obama's rule of fraud? He dares you to go ahead into the bankruptcy trap he set to destroy your honest efforts. And he told you so all along, so STFU, you selfish whiner. Obama will change the world to force conformity to Marx. And just try filing for unemployment from a bankrupted nation and government. The wonderful construction contractor, TITO, pointed out that Obama's promised bribe only amounts to $.97/hour to buy your vote.
So forfeit your job, your house and your solvency for a lousy $.97/hour. THINK! Which "promise" to dedicate tax funds for public works projects has Obama fulfilled? None. Chicago's Altgelt housing project stripped all tax moneys from refurbishing into crook lawyer/contractor pockets, and the buildings were stripped as well, left in worse condition than before Obama got involved "helping" himself and his cronies instead of the poor to attain public tax funded housing. Or remember the Chicago park that never got constructed, though Obama handled all of the tax funds that disappeared. OBAMANADA Posted by: maverick muse at November 03, 2008 10:04 AM (F1b/5) 40

Great post Kat-Mo! "why would any President artificially force energy prices higher and then make people dependent on the government for a stipend to keep their energy on? A stipend, I've already noted, that won't be worth the check it's written on. Oh, except I nearly forgot, on top of that he will write laws that require the energy companies to keep pumping this electricity and natural gas for free into "qualified" homes" Cloward-Pivan strategy - I came across this during the bail-out, in my traipsing across the net-fantastic. Not being a highly educated person myself, this was news to me, but, oh-so enlightening. People should check it out. It explains moon-bat politics very, very well. It is intended to "force political change through orchestrated crisis" They were 2 Columbia Univ profs. who were inspired by the '65 Watts riots to come up with a strategy to take down the govt. They were published in '66 and the world has never been the same. "Rather than placating the poor with government hand-outs, wrote Cloward and Piven, activists should work to sabotage and destroy the welfare system; the collapse of the welfare state would ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation; poor people would rise in revolt; only then would "the rest of society" accept their demands" I colored that pink for communist!
