This afternoon I went to the tailor to drop off some items and as I walked through the door I noticed that the t.v. was on in the corner. The tailor was watching CNN.

I've been going to the same tailor for about twenty years, off and on, and I remember when, just a few years ago, he and his wife took their first vacation. They work six days a week and have built a great reputation for themselves.

So, today, as I stepped up on the platform to have my trousers marked and pinned, he started going off and pointing at the televison..."Exxon! They make record profits!"

Of course, I was thinking Oh, shit. I'm going to have to find a new tailor. when he became furious with the way that the media portrays Exxon as such a terrible company. He spoke of how they, and other oil companies, pay billions in taxes. He spoke of the small profit margins they make and the fact that they contribute to keeping the economy up and running. ...

As I continued through fittings on six different items, he kept getting more upset. His wife came out of the back and stood there shaking her head while he continued about how there's always somebody standing around doing nothing and expecting someone else to pay their way. "America is the greatest country on earth! No other country can you work hard and make your life what you want it to be!" Then his wife chimed in "They should try, those people who talk about United States, they should try to live and work where we came from for one day! For one dollar a day we worked!"

Their accents are just as heavy as Tito's but they're Middle Eastern rather than Hispanic and, boy, do they love their country.

Right before I left, the wife (I can't believe I've forgotten their names!) calmed down and pointed at her husband, "He watches that shit all the time! And at night he's glued to the computer!" I wonder, are they members of the moron community as well?

Truly, it made my entire day.
