Obama in 1995 Blames Whitey, Calls for Redistribution of Wealth for Country's "Salvation"

Eh. Here's the deal: He's pretty much exactly the same kind of socialist race hustler as Jesse Jackson. Everyone swears he's not Jesse Jackson. But he is.

He's just less honest about it.

Thanks to CJ.

3 Nice find, via Riehl World View. From Obama's 2004 DNC speech: "I believe that we have a righteous wind at our backs, and that as we stand on the crossroads of history, we can make the right choices and meet the challenges that face us. America, tonight, if you feel the same energy that I do, if you feel the same urgency that I do, if you feel the same passion that I do, if you feel the same hopefulness that I do, if we do what we must do, then I have no doubt that all across the country, from Florida to Oregon, from Washington to Maine, the people will rise up in November, and John Kerry will be sworn in as president."

5 I think the "narration" text in the video is slightly overstated or overblown, but the overall point that Obama is a socialist is not only accurate but something the majority of the MSM passes over because it just looks "normal" to them.

Yeah, some of this should be in a campaign ad. Should have been months ago.

You have to wonder why the ruthless Clinton Attack Machine never dug any of this stuff up. Things that make ya go hmmmmmm....

The full 12-minute Obama interview from 1995 is linked below. It is on a website called "Eye on Books". I can't believe I haven't seen/heard this interview anywhere before now. It's very Wright-like in tone.

11 How did it take this long for this to turn up?  I have to figure the next 12 days is going to be a constant string of Obama's greatest hits.  I guess the DUI thing worked out good for the Dems in 2000, the Reps decided to wait till the last minute to get this stuff out.  Problem for the Reps is the press will not run with anything no matter what it is, like they pushed the DUI thing non stop.

13 A specific example was the "comparing us to genocide in Bosnia and Africa," when in fact he just said that people have the same problems all over - which is both kind of accurate and kind of misleading, because obviously LA is not like the other two places.

The important part of that quote to me is his Marxist "class warfare" overlay he puts on everything. Rich people, by and large, don't give a rat's ass about keeping anyone down. Most rich people sell things, at one level or another, and they want people to have enough money to buy those things.

Marx gave the left this bizarre fantasy that the rich want to take things from the poor (what do the poor have, again?), and it fits so well with the left's predilections that they find it "too good to check."

The guy really is sick.

In his mind, his 'salvation' and the country's are intertwined.  If we are to be saved, he must be the one.  And through that saving, we are all saved.

He must be a vampire.  He sees racism in everyone else, but there's no reflection when he looks in the mirror.

#5: There were rumors that Hillary's camp had some tape/video that would be very detrimental to BO's campaign, but they didn't wind up using it. Maybe this is it.

Remember, she was running in the Democratic Party primary. That means she had to appeal to a large bloc of voters who actually believe this stuff, thinks there's nothing wrong with it (and I'm talking about white guilt-trippers here too), so she would have had difficulty using it in those elections.

But this is a different election.

Times Editorial Board Endorses Obama By The New York Times

The editorial board of The New York Times has endorsed Senator Barack Obama for president.

In an editorial in its Friday editions, the board says that Mr. Obama “has the will and the ability to forge the broad political consensus that is essential to finding solutions to this nation’s problems.”

Of Mr. McCain, it says he has “retreated farther and farther to the fringe of American politics, running a campaign on partisan division, class warfare and even hints of racism.”

33 Methinks ACE is melting down.  The GOP is about to be wiped out.  Why?? The war in Iraq.  A war ACE has been pimping  all along. When the Republicans needed a new face, someone who would be the exact opposite of the current administration and still be a rock solid conservative, Ace did nothing but call him a Jew hater, a Nazi, KKKer etc etc.  Yes, Ron Paul was the only Republican that had a chance.  Think about.  As far back as 1999 Ron Paul was predicting the mortgage meltdown we are now going through.  In late 2002 up to March of 2003, he predicted if we invaded Iraq it would be a disaster for the GOP.

But never fear, as far as ACE was concerned old Ron Paul was a Jew baiter.  Didn't matter that Ron Paul has spent his  entire  political career quoting Ludwig von Mises, Milton Friedman, Murray Rothbard, and Henry Hazlitt all famous economist that happen to be Jews.   So Ron Paul likes to bait Jews by quoting them in his speeches and columns.  Makes sense!

Know what folks.  Ace, Allah and the Hot Air bunch are punks.  Nothing more, nothing less. That's all they've ever been and that's all they ever will be.

34 I echo the sentiments from the posters here, we kept hearing that if anything was out there, the Clintons would have discovered it, pure poppycock.

It is amazing that this took so long, unless someone was holding it, could be a narrative forming as more stuff gets out.

The Clintons really did a poor job of opposition research, if you really want to be President you have to assume anyone can defeat you and take them out before they get popular. The Clintons should have unloaded on Obama last July, reportedly that is what Bill wanted to do.

Anyway I would just like to say that this website, Hot Air, and Free Republic has the funniest commentators on the web, keep up the quality comments.

Ten likely hoaxes of the right-o-sphere have been called out (http://tinyurl.com/6rrg8p). AoSHQ has been fingered in four out of the ten:

1 - During Obama’s dark, mysterious years at Columbia, he was involved in domestic terrorist bombings.

2 - Obama didn’t actually write Dreams of My Father. In fact, it was ghost-written by none other than Bill Ayers!

4 - Obama had a girlfriend that his wife found out about and forced her to move to the Caribbean.

10 - Ace of Spades’ Super-Secret Unified Field Story That Connects All the Dots

We could add an eleventh to this list. Personally I fell for #3 and the, uh, one that went to #11.

This site has floated a number of "intriguing theories", some of which it never endorsed, some of which have been retracted, some of which are still at large. The Columbia Bombing Theory in particular; think about the accusation this levels against the possible next President.

You still think I shouldn't ever come back; fine. Maybe you could do with a few "days off" yourself.

64 David Ross: who exactly is laughing at us? David Axelrod? Peggy Noonan? Keith Olberman? With all due respect, why would you care? This isn't some pink tea we're in, it's a battle for the future direction of our government.

What we're talking about here isn't a wild conspiracy theory. It's a recording of Obama expressing in his own words ideas that on their face disqualify him for the Presidency of a republic.

So what if the Establishment media will find great sport in laughing at our distress over this latest revelation? Do you really care what they think?

Posted by: Otis Criblecoblis at October 24, 2008 03:13 AM (yJXTo)

65 David Ross,

I agree that some of those theories are out there - however, most of the time those theories are simply being discussed here as theories waiting for evidence to come in to support them or not.

Like the Edwards mistress story that I thought was probably NOT true, until it became TRUE. Or that Ayers baby sat Obama's kids which I think is TRUE but will never see the light of day, but I guess could be FALSE.

If had some confidence in the media to do the checking, maybe the blogs wouldn't feel they need air these theories, but they end up doing so. The blogs end up as a sort of open bullshit session to think through these theories.

Its also interesting to note that many of things all happened to Bush, and where were these libs who are all smiles now? Were they out there disowning the "hump" on Bush's back theory? NO, they were not. They should have. But they didn't. Now, the right is supposed to not learn this sort of behavior?

66

Otis - I listened through it again. First time hearing it I heard the "white executive" bit and yawned. It's crummy and socialist and race-baiting, but it's also mealy-mouthed and weak. Next to him tossing this shit at a would-be "white executive" to his face, this part of the interview is just university-parlour pontificating. There's much worse on tape from, say, LBJ.

I've since pondered his claim that he cannot be personally redeemed until he redeems the nation. It's The One announcing His messianism again, yeah. The RNC could profitably run that much in an ad. The Left might sneer that we're "Goldberg's wingnuts" again but, deep down, they'd know we were right.

Posted by: David Ross at October 24, 2008 03:36 AM (ZdGUk)

67 I have got a better one....let's say we had a theory that some senator from Illinois had asked his hot actress wife to perform public sex acts in Paris, and that if only we could unseal his divorce records...

See, I would laugh at that theory, too. So how can judge what is an beyond the pale theory and what is not?

For example,

I don't think the Obama girlfriend scandal is impossible - because he is a male, and men like to diddle women, and the O-man probably gets a lot of attention from groupies.

So is that not allowed to be discussed?

Posted by: Harun at October 24, 2008 03:42 AM (X1eDh)

68

Harun: Thank you for your measured response.

I do apologise for the "5/11ths truther" crack. It's only trooferism if you stick with the bogus claim. (If some lackwit falls into trutherism for a week and then checks out, say, Popular Mechanics and gets a clue, we shouldn't call that one a full-on truther.)

Which of the Top Ten / Eleven (on this site, four) is this site still seriously entertaining, though? Seems to me that #1 is dangerous, #2 is petty (the one closest to "trig trutherism"), and #10 is a big questionmark. (Leaving aside #4...)

I take this personally because I personally fell for #3, largely because I've been fed so much scary information about BHO lately, most of it true as far as I could check it. Should we draw up a chart for ol' JonSwift about the status of these claims?

Presumably JonSwift isn't objecting to the discovery that BHO was in the New Party, and currently engaged in contribution fraud and election fraud (bad enough to invalidate the election in Ohio, although there I'm going out on that limb relative to the commenters here).

Posted by: David Ross at October 24, 2008 03:52 AM (ZdGUk)

69

Harun, you're talking about #4. I think that yes, we should let #4 go. #4 doesn't have court affidavits or a famous wife just waiting to bring down the candidate. We're also not seeing a pattern of "bimbo eruptions"; just the odd claim people made about, say, McCain or even Bush Sr(!). Rumours like that always turn up and they never matter.

Posted by: David Ross at October 24, 2008 03:56 AM (ZdGUk)

70 David,

You may well be right to say that there's not much here that the RNC or the McCain campaign can use. In general, there seems little hope that Obama's words can be disseminated to the electorate before Election Day. I don't agree with your assessment of it as yawn-inducing, but I do understand why you feel that way.

What I still don't understand is how this led to your comment at 49, which still looks to me like a non sequitur. Why would you equate this recording of Obama's actual words with a series of unsubstantiated rumors and unsourced stories? And again I ask, who is laughing at us and why do you care?

I do not speak in anger, and I am not spoiling for a fight. I've read and enjoyed your blog. It just seems to me that with the election so close, it is an inappropriate time for internecine warfare. As the kids say, just sayin'.

71 David: Oops! I haven't read your blog, actually; I got it confused with someone else's.

Otis - Thanks for the nice comments about my website. (It's not a blog; I used to have a blog but I deleted it ~18 months ago. I suck at blogging. I'm not all that good at commenting.)

That #49 comment was mainly a thread hijack. I read the page full of "wingnut" overreaching, saw myself in some of it, saw other commenters in the rest of it, even saw Ace called out by name in 4/10ths of it. I was upset. Also, scared, that we were turning into Truthers. (No offense meant to Jack M.) Most of all I started thinking that this site was going to lose its credibility.

I posted #49 here because this post was top on the heap for observations-of-Obama-13-years-ago, and (I think) not very helpful to the campaign.

Next time I see shit like this what do I do? Send email to Jack M?

Posted by: David Ross at October 24, 2008 04:13 AM (ZdGUk)

73 David,

I agree with you that some of these theories are not helpful and make the right look silly, but I also think these ARE the kind of theories end up being discussed in newsrooms BEFORE they become news (or don't and quietly die.)

Its like in the blogosphere, you get to see the sausage factory. You get to hear about the "get whitey" tapes that never materialize. (oops.) You get to hear the rumor about Ayers babysitting. (may or not be corroborated.) You get to hear about Rielle Hunter who I did not think was having an affair/love child with Edwards, but actually was. The MSM doesn't run until they have evidence which means they don't get embarrased when they find out such and such isn't true. (ooops on the TANG docs.)

So, maybe the top tier blogs should not talk about these stories until they come out in the MSM? That would be the best way to avoid looking like crackpots. But what if the MSM just sits on stories?

I am already upset by the "Obama is a muslim" people and a little worried about the "stock up on ammo" mentality that is making people on the right look like BSD types. So I know where you are coming from...and oh, don't "fall" for any story until its confirmed. Look how careful Ace was about the mugged chick story, doubting from the beginning. It must be nice for the lefties who don't have to do this. No one ever comes back and says their crackpots. (usually.)

I don't believe how f*cking blase and out of it you people are!

Listen to that video again!

Sarah Palin gets up and says:

"Barack Obama says white people in the suburbs don't want to pay taxes for black kids going to school." He's calling white suburbanites racist.

"Is that what Barack Obama thinks of you? That you're all so racist you don't want to see black kids go to school?"

Or she says:

"Barack Obama talks about the oppression in the world, and compares Serbia  to Los Angeles."

"Is Barack Obama saying people in LA oppressed minorities and engaged in ethnic cleansing like in Serbia?"

What a boatload of wimps you are!

Send it Drudge? HELL NO!

Send it to EVERY COLUMNIST ON TOWNHALL, NATIONAL REVIEW, and AMERICAN SPECTATOR. Send it to LIMBAUGH! He has a bigger audience than newspapers! Send it to Instapundit.

And then send it to Treacher!

Or would you rather whine about nobodies like Kathleen Parker? Wait around for some story about Obama's girlfriend, or Ayers babysitting his kids, which no one will care about?

You get an October surprise dumped in you lap tied in a bow and you want to change the freaking station?

If you don't flood the net with this and McCain loses, you've got no right to b*tch!

What the HELL people!

75 David - I see what you're saying, and I understand your not wanting this site to become deranged. My own concern is that we avoid friendly fire at this point in the process, which is why I raised an objection to 49. I got a snarkier tone than you evidently intended.

Having said that, I think Ace is very careful to present things in their proper context. I don't see him posting rumor as fact or allowing anyone else to make a habit of it either.

I'm confused as to how Jack M is involved in this, but an e-mail directly to Ace with your views on the direction of the commenters sounds like a good idea.

Posted by: Otis Criblecoblis at October 24, 2008 06:07 AM (yJXTo)

76 You folks should listen the soundclip again. He's saying whites don't want to pay taxes TO inner city children. Not "FOR" but "TO".

Mojo: So bleedin' what? That's what he means, isn't it? The only place taxes go TO is the government.

Let HIM get up in front of reporters and try to explain the nuances in the use of prepositions.

Rush Limbaugh spent quite a bit of time on this story today.

http://tinyurl.com/5dkjnt

He went right to the YouTube video and played clips of all the meaty parts and lit into Obama.

Did he see it here or on Gateway? Could be.

But I made sure he knew about it by sending an email to his site on Thursday night. And on Friday ten million+ of Americans heard about it.

Maybe some other people here sent it too.

But however he found it is beside the point.

The message got out to a large audience!

Whining on a comments section about how it won't have an effect means it won't have an effect.

Doing something about it will!
