In Obama's America, Blue Collar = Desperate and Poor (and Also Bitter, Clingy, and Racist)

Remind me again: Why is the media "vetting" a plumber who asked a question, rather than a Senator who answered it?

Thanks to Paul.

UPDATE[DiT]: That there video was put together by our ol pal Cuffster.

The real mother of Trig
Massive voter fraud
The story of a random plumber in Ohio
A Republican presidential candidate's affair with no evidence available
A presidential candidates ties to terrorists with real evidence available

22 Has anyone ever been elected to President after publicly insulting a private citizen?

Insult, F'that, hog balls to the wall assault a blue collar working class guy trying to bootstrap himself up.

This coming from the Proclaimed One (DNC - "By Proclaimation... Barry is The One") who spent the LAST twenty years of his life sucking up the "disavowal of the middle-class" is a principle religious tenant so-called 'religion' cult.

Every time that National-Socialist pipes up about being "for the middle-class" he needs to have his head shoved back up the Reverand Wright's ass where it belongs.

From now on, you will have to pass a "background" check to ask The One a question.  Wonder how they will run that check?  No problemo - the Dems already have a database of "troublemakers".

It is the U.S. voter registration list... minus the the DNC membership list.  Simple.

29 Interesting comment at HA:

What needs to happen is the media needs to be vetted.

We need to dig into their taxes, their private life, their investments, their divorces, their liens, their hairdressers. We need to make their lives so over-exposed that Britney is just a by-word.

Then, the playing field will be even.

I should have guessed when he said he 'works hard.'

Really, I think this is a sterling illustration of the bullshit of the Democratic 'fighting for the working man.'  They want to take away the money the guy earns as a 'working man' to 'spread around' to those who don't fucking work, pay taxes, or do anything but wait for the gummint handout.

With the current state of the economy, I have doubts that it will be able to recover when a 'screw the producers' philosophy takes over.

45 FYI, tangential to point of post, but just in case you hadn't read:

Mr. Obama was paraphrasing Saul Alinsky when he spoke to those sweet let-go-ers of money in San Fran . . .

pp. 188-189, Rules for Radicals

“Their bitterness is compounded by their also paying taxes for these colleges, for increased public services, fire, police, public health, and welfare. They hear the poor demanding welfare as ‘rights.’ To them this is insult on top of injury. Seeking some meaning in their life, they turn to an extreme chauvinism and become defenders of the ‘American’ faith. Insecure in this fast-changing world, they cling to illusory fixed points–which are very real to them”.

I’m happy to make a donation for Joe.  But I also want to make sure these scumbags don’t get away with this.  I’m really shaken by what they’re doing to Joe.  Maybe we’ve got a community activist here that can tell us the best way to get our voices heard. ;-)

Really, this is beyond the pale.  It was bad enough when they completely trashed Governor Palin.  But at least she’d made the decision to put herself in the public.  Joe the Plumber doesn’t deserve this.  NO private citizen deserves to be harassed just because he/she dared to question a political candidate.  I know Bill O’Reilly obsessively hates the DailyKos scum so I’m sure if we made enough of a stink he’d pick up the story.  But I’d really like to go beyond the rightwing sphere.  Democrats and Independents need to know how Obama’s brownshirts operate and what a risk they pose to free speech.

Last thought: I hope someone clips McCain’s speech.  He’s always had a great sense of humor.  It’s too bad most Americans haven’t seen it.

74 One of the most bizarre aspects of the left to me is how they are pathologically incapable of understanding that people change income brackets over the course of their lifetimes.  They look at the breakdown of incomes and see winners and losers whereas the truth is it isn't static. And it simply amazes me that they can't grasp the fact that someone who works hard but isn't an especially high earner wouldn't begrudge those who are but rather aspire to be one himself. That he makes a joke of this guy's ambition is not only moronic but runs counter to the many high school friends of mine who have gotten fairly wealthy in businesses like plumbing, contracting and landscape design by investing in their businessses and growing them .

Well we are showing support here.  We need to call into the few friendly media left and talk about how we are disgusted by the attacks and support him.  Show others that we will not lie down and take it anymore.  We need to tell friends and family who are both pro McCain or are undecided about this.  We do not sit by, but there is a lot to do to show support other than financial.  Hell, even write to the local papers and news outlets.  Maybe we will get lucky and get letters in the paper.  I've already written letters and called advertisers of media outlets that are pulling this crap and let them know my disgust.

87 I need to find this later on YouTube...

Obama's performance sounds like the  "comedy" skits that Louisiana  Gov. Kathleen Blanco tried to do at the state's Gridiron Show each year.

(A tradition is that the highest-ranking politician in the room, typically the Governor or Lt. Governor, gives a rebuttal.  Between her spending 4 years as Governor and another 8 as Lt. Governor, I saw her bomb at this plenty of times, while seeing her predecessor, supposed dufus Gov. Mike Foster, and her successor, Gov. Bobby Jindal, be genuinely funny.)

Blanco's big problems were that she was wooden, thought she was funny, and is overly long-winded.  If she'd been brief and to the point, a few jokes could have been made and there may or may not have been laughs.  By overly bloating her response, it just made it seem even worse, because it felt like it would never end.

McCain's performance,  by contrast, sounds like he had a grasp of his audience, has a sense of humor about himself, and has an idea of how to sell jokes to a crowd.

Maybe we can send a flurry of e-mails and make a bunch of phone calls to the AP over this totally inappropriate story they filed on Joe the Plumber (isn’t that the kind of thing the Obamatards do?): http://tiny.cc/6i7pE

Joe can be our cause.  He deserves some backup from these scumbags Obama shills and DailyKosScum. I’m PISSED.

107 "...Remind me again: Why is the media "vetting" a plumber who asked a question, rather than a Senator who answered it?..."

I'll remind you: because people like you said we couldn't make fun of a racist by using ebonic "terms", and certain real, if arcane, words and phrases; because you, and Malkin, and Ingraham, and Hannity, and O'Reilly, and all of you that have anything near a public forum, let a racist, and his 99% following, set the terms of engagement for the last, oh, 20 or 30 years. The chickens? They done come home to roost.

Barry IS a racist. Read his books. LISTEN to him (you typical white folks-he fucking SAID that, jackasses), and his followers, and the "people" HE follows. Actually, nah. This is way advanced for most of you, who are way more PC than you could ever imagine you are. Great job...

Did anyone else see the uncomfortable laugh at McCain's joke where he took a sip of water midstream?

That's a common tactic to buy time or hide an emotion. Or, then again, his mouth might simply be dry from laughing at McCain.

Interesting comment at HA:

What needs to happen is the media needs to be vetted.

We need to dig into their taxes, their private life, their investments, their divorces, their liens, their hairdressers. We need to make their lives so over-exposed that Britney is just a by-word.

Then, the playing field will be even.

I am ALL for this. Let's get after it. How do we dig into somebody's private life?

Seriously, I'm asking. Anyone know?

I went to the website of the Toledo Blade (Toledo's NYTimes) to read the hit job on Joe the Plumber. Started surfing around their site, and found a section for online reader polls. One caught my eye:

The poll asked if Sarah Palin abused her power when she fired her ex brother in law, Mike Wooten (Alaska State Trooper.) It was about 90% yes.

Sarah Palin did not fire Mike Wooten. He ended up with a 5 day suspension.

I learned 2 things:

1) The Toledo Blade presents Obama spin as fact

2) about 90% of their readership are idiots.

For those who are interested in vetting the smearmerchants, here's a couple of places to start: Ben Smith, Jonathan Martin, Carrie B. Brown, and Amie Parnes are at Politico.com and have been investigating the man who had the audacity to question The Messiah.

The NYT hit piece was written by Larry Rohter (William Lawrence Rohter Jr.), a man who up until 2007 was their guy in Brazil. The coauthor of the NYT article is sports writer and poet Liz Robbins, who has a couple of books on Amazon.com. Rohter and Robbins line in New York City and I'm sure their publicly available records will be most interesting as soon as I get them.
