61 I don't buy the City of Toledo story.  I've got 30+ years as a Florida State Certified General Contractor.  Every trade that I sub to, plumbers, electricians, A/C, etc, are all licensed by the owner of the business.  The employees that work for the licensed contractor, be it a plumbing contractor or electrical contractor, do not have to be licensed.  It is the responsibility of the certified/licensed business owner to have competent employees, but they need not be licensed.  The owner holds the license and he takes the responsibility.  In fact, in Florida, you cannot get licensed in the trades unless you have 5 years experience in the field working for a licensed business.

And not for anything, folks, but I wouldn't get all het up about the City building department calling Joe to say he can't work without a license.   First of all, it's probably some poor chick making $15/hour issuing permits and checking licenses who made the call.  Building code requires the City to do make that call, because contractor licensure laws exist for a reason...but unless they have someone who has legitimately - the operative word here - lodged a complaint against him, stating that he represented himself as a licensed contractor (distinction here between contractor, tradesman, journeyman, and apprentice, folks) and performed unpermitted work for which he was paid, they can't do shit.  The most they can do is tell him that he has to get a license and that he can't work until he gets one.

At 35% tax rate you will pay about 87,500 in taxes.

Lets look at a medium sized corporation.  Lets say one making 2 million a day.
At 35% tax rate they will be paying 700,000 a day in taxes.
At 39% tax rate they will be paying 780,000 a day in taxes.
That is a difference of 80,000 dollars a day.  Now lets consider that as of 2006 the average yearly wage in the US was right around 42,000.  So that means the company is losing money equivalent to paying 1.9 people their yearly wage every day, or 693.5 average peoples yearly wages each year.
