Debate Liveblog Thread: Surge or Surrender

Obama's already released his talking points to the media. As if they didn't already know what they were supposed to say.

And while we're waiting, let's ponder the breathtaking scope of this year's voter fraud.

Thanks to CJ for that last one.

2 Lets get it on!!
This will be a shocker debate for all of you. McCain will hammer on obama, i bet the farm.
The fromat of this debate is in a format that McCain is very good in. In 2000, during the primary in a seated debate he went after bush hard. The seated debate at the reagan library he went after Mitt hard.
McCain seated next to obama will chew him up. This debate also gives 9 minutes between the candidates to talk to each other.
McCain will have some pointed questions.

4 It's over unless he hits hard. Ayers, ACORN, Wright, Freddie/Fannie, race-baiting. Pick any 3.

For the love of god, McCain, don't lay down and surrender this country to a Democrat congress + executive in times like these.

Stand up and FIGHT.

5 Time to cut the crap and earn it, McCain. I want to hear about Fannie, Ayers, abortion, ACORN, vote fraud, everything. I want red meat and a fighting spirit. Do or die pal.

6 This is a seated debate? ooohhh...that close could get ugly. McCain better be ready as I am sure Obamassiah will have a response to Ayers...

10 The meme for this debate is McCain needs to win or it's over. He needs to knock Obama into next week or else that's it, end the election it's over, pick out the drapes.

McCain needs to cause a fumble.

Maybe a corner blitz? Blindside Obama and sack him while causing him to cough up the ball.

He doesn't need to score he just needs the ball.

Then he needs to matriculate it down the field to the endzone.

And the last thing he said to me -- "Rock," he said -

"sometime, when the team is up against it -- and the

breaks are beating the boys -- tell them to go out there

with all they got and win just one for the Gipper base...

Posted by: JavaJoe at October 15, 2008 08:05 PM (Am6n/)

11 McCain does not have to talk about Ayers at all. He will i am sure.
He needs to make obama look foolish. Which he can easily do in this format. Sharp questions from McCain on taxes and spreadng the wealth can kill obama without a terrorist bomber like bill ayers.

Posted by: ppp at October 15, 2008 08:07 PM (zzms8)

12 If he says "reach across the aisle", or "earmarks", or "Wall Street greed and corruption"I'm gonna reach for my Glock and end it all --- by shooting the TV, that is.

13 Anybody read this debate between Byron York and Taibbi ? Taibbi acted like a complete asshole, no surprise, but the moonbats are crowing over it. He argues that the financial crisis is not a result of the FM/FM but Phil Gramm's Commodity Futurization Act. It may rear it's ugly head tonight. What do you think?

Matt Taibbi is an asshole.

We need something good tonight.

Posted by: ArandomPerson at October 15, 2008 08:14 PM (2PwTK)

20 poeple think McCain is a big softy and dummy.
Tonight you will see he is not. Obama has said the same things in both debates. He no doubt will say the same things tonight. McCain now has his lines down and will have a damaging question for obama on each one.
Someone mentioned earmarks. Another example, McCain should mention earmarks to bait him. In the 1st 2 debates obama gave the same answer. Earmarks"are only 18 billion of the budget"
McCain is going to shoot back that it is double that and 18 billion dollars in taxpayer money may not be a big deal to obama but it is to american tax-payers.
The first two debates were about setting the trap. It will be sprung tonight.

Yeah, it's a huge problem. People believe Obama. It appears a majority of people just love to swallow the bullshit he serves, and they even convince themselves it's filet mignon. It's the craziest thing I've ever seen.
He even manages to somehow make republicans forget about crap like that Brunner woman (?) is trying to pull in OH. If Brunner can't get you to go out and vote for the only person who can beat Obama in this election, I honestly don't know what to say to you. (that's a generic you, not a personal you)
This is a guy who has apparently NEVER had a normal close associate. This is a guy who tells plumbers that they need to share their income even more than they do now. This is a guy who said our troops just air raid villages and kill innocent civilians.

If torturing some terrorist scumbag might have saved your hypothetical friend's life, and the rest of Flight 11, I would have. I have done a lot of shitty things in my military career I regret have been necessary, but I've done them and gone back for more. That's the fucking job. My job is worth doing. I'd take those risks and dirty my conscience all over again to save you and every dumb fuck Democrat on the Daily Kos. But that doesn't mean I have to like you people a goddamned bit.

240 #218: "Palin will preside over the world like a well-dressed orangutan eating bananas on top of a pile of human skulls, shrieking wildly." - which would make her measurably superior to the Lightwanker, Bubba, Jimmuh, Lyndon-bird, Jack Marilyn-stuffing Kennedy, etc ad nauseum. It is said that Tamarlane sat atop a pile of 70,000 human skulls. Who does history remember? The victim or the victorious?

As for me, there are only two roles in the play: the downtrodden peon with his head in the gutter, or the jack-booted thug grinding his heel in to the clavicle of the former. I'm polishing my jackboots, asswipe. (That asswipe shot is gratuitous - required on this blog, IIRC).

Other than 'pie', 'middle-class' was the most frequent word out of Barry's, uhhhh, pie-hole for the last two weeks, until today.

Barry got the drop that as soon as he mentions his false concern for the well-being of the 'middle-class' it would be brought up, so confused, didn't you spend the last twenty years worshiping at a church which espouses "disavowal of middle-classness" as its principle tenant? 264 There's nothing better than trolling among people who know you're a troll but can't help themselves anyway.

Reminds me of a joke I heard once.

Cop sits outside a bar waiting for drunks to get in their cars. Closing time comes, everyone pours out but the cop fixates on one guy in particular. He's just PLASTERED. Stumbles over to a car, pulls out his keys, tries a few times to open the door and finally realizes ...it's not his car. Makes his way to the next car, unlocks the door, sits in the seat and boom, head right into the steering wheel. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK. Comes-to a full thirty seconds later. The cop is nearly pissing himself.

The guy starts up the car and pulls forward into the curb. Stops. Puts it in reverse, backs up slow and makes his way out of the parking lot.

Now the cop is almost crying with laughter but he can't risk a real accident so he puts on the lights and pulls the guy over. Gets him out of the car, gives him the breathalizer and ...it comes up 0.00%.

"That's impossible," says the cop. "How can you be blowing zero?"

"Because I'm the decoy?"

You kept saying the trolls were weak but you kept biting. Much obliged.

So Ace readers, with all due respect, I feel this is futile but necessary. Kind of like saying the Pledge of Allegiance at a Cubs game.

YHBT. YHL. HAND.

Bye!

274 After the last debate, Obama wasn't feeling well, so he went to the men's room to wash his face. He did so, then looked up and saw that, from his upper lip up to the top of his head, he was pale as a sheet.

He immediately called his doctor, who arranged to meet him at the emergency room.

After a brief examination, the doc left the room, and came back about 5 minutes later with a huge beaker and a very large jug.

He poured a rather large quantity of the jug's contents into the beaker, and handed it to Obama -- "Drink this, it'll take care of the problem."

Obama eyed the beaker's contents, a thick brown liquid, and sniffed at it. "Man that stuff stinks!"

The doctor sighed... "Just drink it."

Obama hesitantly put the beaker to his lips, and took a swig. He immediately made a face and said, "Doc, that stuff tastes like shit!!"

The doctor said, "It is. You're a quart low."
