Drew Griffin Reassignment Watch

How long will CNN permit the infidel Griffin to spew heresies about the one?

I see Griffin on the consumer protection beat in the near future.

A baffled Wolf Blitzer cannot believe one of CNN's own reporters is declaring (accurately) that Obama paid $832,000 to CSI, an ACORN subsidiary front with the exact same board of directors, for get out the vote work.

13 I do not think that word means what you think it means...

Griffin is going all in on this and it will either ensure his prominence in the future or end his career. I gotta respect that!

If Obama loses CNN will realize that all their hard work to elect him has done nothing but cost them their last shred of credibility... unless they can trot out the one, ONE intrepid reporter that dared cast doubt on the annointed one. They are hedging their bets and they probably have more accurate info on polls and such that they don't share with us. I consider this an indication that they see a looming flame out.

20 Slightly off topic:

If the media is so fine with Obama's connections to Bill Ayers, why did Trent Lott have to leave office?

Strom Thurmond at least played enough lip service to renouncing his form of radicalism to keep getting elected to the Senate (a state-wide federal election position).

Ayers takes pride on still being a radical and wishing he'd set more bombs, and all he's got to show in his favor is being elected tenure at a university by a bunch of other hippies.

My was some ambigious-at-best reference to Strom Thurmond's segregationist past by Lott enough to send the media into an orgy of anger that drove lot from leadership positions in the Senate and eventually saw him resign from office...

...When Obama's connections to Ayers doesn't even slightly put their brakes on their drive to get him into the White House???

24 Yeah, I saw last night's piece at a local fast-food restaurant, it ended with the teaser about "Next, we'll look at whether ACORN has significant connections to either of the campaigns" and I just about hurled my burrito at the set.

I caught tonight's piece on the TV at the gym while I was pouring my customary quart of sweat onto one of the stationary bicycles and just about fell off.

I'm sure that the unit 'picosecond' can now be defined in Wikipedia as the interval between Griffin's mouth closing and Axelrod pulling out his phone for the call to Atlanta.  "Look, what's wrong with you bastards?  We bought you, now effin' STAY bought!"

Drew gets my Honorably Pissing Uphill Into The Wind award for this campaign season.   I'd like to think he has a future.

25 If the media is so fine with Obama's connections to Bill Ayers, why did Trent Lott have to leave office?

I think you mean step down from his leadership position. But you raise a good point. Unfortunately, the reason Lott stepped down and was humiliated in the press for no goddamn good reason is because Republicans buckled under the pressure of the press and turned on Lott. Republicans have a bad habit of not only not supporting each other when the Democrats create a fake scandal, they accept the ridiculous demands of the shrill Democrats and oust one of their own.

The Republicans did this Newt Gingrich, even though Hillary Clinton did the exact same thing as he did when she was in the senate, and they did it with Tom Delay, even though Nancy Pelosi did the exact same thing as he did while she was in the House. And Mark Foley was sold down the river by Dennis Hastert and treated like he was radioactive.

I'm glad that pervert Larry Craig didn't resign. Fuck the Democrats. And I'm also glad that Ted Stevens isn't quitting and I hope he wins reelection. Fuck the Democrats.

26 Okay I've seen the term thrown about a lot but I don't know exactly what motor-voter is.

Can someone explain it to me please?

And what did Obama do with this motor-voter case he was involved in also?

27  from my tinyurl link.  there's video too!

There are now two investigations in Nevada into the community advocacy group called ACORN -- one by the Secretary of State and the second by the Nevada Department of Corrections. One is looking into possible voter registration fraud and identity theft by ACORN and the other is looking at how inmates were hired to register voters.

According to a spokesman for the Secretary of State, both investigations may connect. The spokesman adds that the state is doing everything possible to finish them before the election.

State investigators raided the Las Vegas ACORN office October 7, 2008. At a video conference with the Department of Corrections, Director Howard Skolnik admitted knowing there may be wrongdoing two and a half months prior.

"The staff of NDOC was not aware of the fact that these individuals were registering voters until July 31st," he said.

Nevada laws say inmates may not be involved in elections.

One inmate found a classified for a job with ACORN. He asked a company called Choices, which is contracted to find inmates jobs, if he could accept the job. He was approved.

Eventually, 59 inmates were signing up voters.

They all came from Casa Grande, a transitional housing program for inmates up for parole. One was in prison for identity theft.

Posted by: funky chicken at October 15, 2008 03:02 AM (xyyHG)

28 PowerPro, motorvoter was a law that made registration for voting easier. Basically it said that if you asked to register, they had to register you. It picked up the name because one of the places that had to ask if you wanted to register was the DMV. We had to do it as well in Army recruiting stations. But there was no requirement that you present any identification.

29 Two more examples of When Republican Turn Into Pussies:

Ann Coulter (sort of) called John Edwards a faggot. Democrats made a big deal and pretended they were offended and Republicans had a fit like it actually mattered.

Bill Bennett was deliberately taken out of context in a soundbite on his radio show and made to look like a racist. Bennett was 100% innocent and was actually illustrating how the Liberals are racists in how they push abortions in the inner-city communities. Democrats demanded that he apologize and be fired from his radio gig. Some Republicans agreed with them and chastised Bennett!

Posted by: Bart at October 15, 2008 03:04 AM (sF2fI)

30 PowerPro,

Here from Wikipedia:

This act required state governments to make the voter registration process easier by providing uniform registration services through drivers' license registration centers, disability centers, schools, libraries, and mail-in registration.

It's believed to have crafted to help Democrats. It's officially called the National Voter Registration Act of 1993.

34 #25 Lott was immediately forced to resign his leadership positions and resigned from office a couple of years later - but I'd say it is safe to say one stemmed from the other.

I think this has some legs -- Ayers = unrepentant radical setting bombs to overthrow the government whose claim to the mainstream is being college professor.

Thurmond = repentant racist and segregationist elected umpteen times to the Senate by a majority of voters in his entire state.

Obama working with Ayers on his radicalism for years = good enough to be in the White House.

Lott making a slight remark about Thurmond's 1947 election bid = DIE PIG DIE!!

This is our media today...

Here is the result I want to share with Mac users:
1) Cost/Performance: Everybody wants to gain more with less money.
2) Speed: Nobody wants to waste too much time waiting.
3) Profile: Of course we want our software can convert all kinds of video formats.
4) Personal Demands: For example, someone just wants to convert part of the DVD video, or others want the special output video format like PSP compliant forms and etc.

61

I think this goes back to the Clintons.  Remember how many years we called CNN the Clinton News Network.  The PUMAs absolutely believe that ACORN provided the shock troops that committed massive fraud in the Texas caucuses and the Indiana and Ohio primaries.  They believe that $800,000 is a smoking gun if they can get anyone to find out exactly where it went.  You have to see the footage of the documentary the Clinton supporters are putting together.  It is sickening.  Obama's campaign used brutal thug tactics to get fraudulent votes recorded and to shut Clinton voters out of the caucuses.  They literally locked people out, created fraudulent canvass sheets, and threw away sheets filled out by Hillary supporters.  They flashmobbed some of the caucus sites and hurled charges of racism at people trying to vote for other candidates besides Obama.  They smashed cameras when people tried to document the fraud.  Some of these caucuses looked like Third World mob scenes.  The PUMAs who were there believe ACORN was smack in the middle of it.

It's a dead giveaway to hear Drew Griffin repeat the Obama campaign's insistence that it worked with ACORN in the primaries but isn't in the general election.  ACORN got Obama the Democratic nomination, fraudulently.  Now they don't need it anymore, it's hard to commit massive fraud in a general election.  Watch ACORN get thrown under the bus completely by Obama himself tonight in the debate.

I wish McCain had the balls to go after him tonight on what ACORN did for him in the PRIMARIES and CAUCUSES.  State flat out for everyone to hear that Obama used ACORN to commit fraud in the primaries against Hillary Clinton, and there is documentary evidence of it.  State that his campaign has never come clean about what that $800,000 paid for.  I think Obama would melt like the Wicked Witch of the West if he did, and millions of Hillary voters would come back over to McCain.

Martin Luther King gave his life for the sacred right to vote.

One person.  One vote.  That's all he was asking for.  He respected that right and wanted it to be extended to each and every legitimate citizen.

Now ACORN cancels the vote of average citizens with thug tactics, invalidating the whole process.

Where is the MLK who will  lead America from this mess?

Maybe we morons need to spend less time commenting on this site and more time volunteering in the voter registration process of our respective counties.

70 William F. vs. Christopher Buckley

In the past, urban conservatives served to analyze and interpret such events for the benefit of the rest of us. That no longer appears to be the case. But we'll manage somehow.--J.R. Dunn

So long as the urban conservatives held the power to lead, they were satisfied to be "conservative" though what all that meant applied as much to class envy as anything since the haves always cut the line to the have nots, whether the haves are conservatives or liberals or whatever. That's simply human nature, selfishness/greed, and it applies to everyone in one degree or another. To deny that is a vain, futile moronic exercise.

The same goes with the excusing "need" for socialism. EDUCATION is the Romantic Ideal as in yearning for the UNATTAINABLE. To the extent that people are literate with knowledge of critical thought and historical record, people reject socialism. Just as unions have outlived their purpose, so has the Progressive Socialist movement.

And the only force at odds with the tsunami of socialism is what remains of conservatism--the first principles that established our Constitution and our balance of powers.

Two thoughts (well, make it three)...

1) Good morning, everyone. Happy Hump Day (lauraw pun unintended, but if the shoe fits...)

2) Having worked for CNN prior to getting out of the business, it's really heartening and heartbreaking to see Drew's great work shat upon by a truly unpleasant man to work with, Wolf Blitzer. I was so disgusted by the product CNN was putting out that I couldn't stay with the business any longer when we moved(this was the CBS/CNN affiliate in Nashville).

Frankly, if there was a network out there that didn't openly belittle the conservative viewpoint, I would dump Fox in a second. Fox is worth watching, IMHO, only for the soon-departing Brit Hume and for Greg Gutfeld.

3) DD, I continue to marvel at the existence of the real person you occasionally show us. You're not an idiot, and you occasionally show us some interesting insights, so what's up with the shit-flinging? I, for one, would like to see you put something up that's worth engaging you on more often... and thanks very much for your post trashing our deranged cut-and-paster.

36 So, as a resident of the state of California, should I be disappointed that our piece of bankrupt real estate is so far gone that we don't even warrant ACORNholing?

Oh, that is kinda sad.  LOL

Hey, it's still the USA, so you might consider moving to an actual normal state before the travel document requirement becomes law.

Reminds me of TWO CNN’s Lou Dobs vs. CNN’s Dana Bash confrontations.

The first, last week, was when Bash reported on how “angry” the McCain crowds were.

Dobbs noted that they were angry at MCCAIN, not Obama, as Bash implied.

Bash sputtered, “Well, it’s a little of both.” Which is not what her report indicated.

Then there’s this from Newsbusters:

http://tiny.cc/I7Jnn

DOBBS: I have to ask you, that's a terrific report. But you said she was tightly scripted and the event controlled. In what ways does that, for example, depart from the scripting and the control of say Senator McCain or Senator Obama?

BASH: Well, Senator Obama, that's an excellent point. In fact, we looked into this. Senator Obama used a teleprompter today as well as he has in the past. So in that sense it is not that different from candidates in general. But in terms of the difference from Senator McCain, it's probably best to look at how that difference is from Senator McCain say a month ago. Because basically about a month ago, he stopped doing press conferences.

90 On a report on Annenberg Challenge, the CNN reporter really brought up  stuff on (as I recall) the incestuousness of Obama and Ayers (something like that).

At the end of the report, an obviously frustrated Anderson Cooper said something like..."Well, what were they doing besides trying to "help education" in Chicago ?"

Cooper was trying to minimize the thrust of CNN's own report !

On a report on Annenberg Challenge, the CNN reporter really brought up  stuff on (as I recall) the incestuousness of Obama and Ayers (something like that).

That was the same Drew Griffin.

He’s either embarrassed at how the 2008 media coverage is going to look in hindsight, and wants to distinguish himself from it, or he’s an ambitious reporter who sees a way to make a name for himself…outside of CNN.  Or he just  has a conscience.

Posted by: CJ at October 15, 2008 11:14 AM (9KqcB)

93 If the media is so fine with Obama's connections to Bill Ayers, why did Trent Lott have to leave office?

Ooooh, this is a good one. I'm going to use it. I was just a youngin when that happened but that was a real mess.

98 Uh, the tshirts tells you a lot.  Is ACORN discouraging its volunteers from wearing partisan apparel while working as non-partisan voter registration staff?

This isn't like the DNC or RNC doing a voter registration drive where they actually wear partisan apparel, yet still register anyone to vote regardless of the party the voter chooses.  This is ACORN, a strictly non-partisan organization conducting a voter registration drive.  Persons and agents acting on behalf of ACORN should be representing the core mission of the organization, that mission is registering voters as a non-partisan outfit committed to justice.

The tshirts are a prime example to create a line of questioning the press can pose to ACORN officials.

Does ACORN practice what they preach?  It appears they do, in dramatically marginal numbers.  Report on this stuff.  It's a good stroy.

Some facts:

1. The organization can be nonpartisan but people at their rallies have a 1st Amndt. right to wear t-shirts, the organization is not providing them with the t-shirts after all. Not an issue. No story there.

2. The homeless have a right to vote and to register others. People can get the forms from lots of sources, what does it matter if the person who hands it to you is formerly or even currently homeless? It's as if they think the homeless are sub-human.
