How Gallup Chose Its "Undecided" Voters

Undecided.

CLARK [an "undecided" voter at the townhall]: So the Sunday before last, I received a call from the Gallop Poll. They asked a few questions regarding my choice in the Presidential election. They asked who I would vote for. I said most likely I would be voting for Barack Obama. They followed with, “is there any chance that you would change your mind“? I said “Of course anything is possible.” They then asked me as an uncommitted voter would I like to participate in the Town hall debate. I said “Of course!”

MSNBC's First Read found this, but they didn't highlight the part where Clark said he was essentially supporting Obama and then was picked. They decided to flag this part where Mr.Clark speculates McCain is racist because McCain suggested the American public may not be familiar with how exactly Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac worked.

5 When all those illegal immigrants joyfully cross the border during The Messiah Administration, they'll probably be treated as "undecided" voters as well.

9 I watched the last debate on CNN - don't get FOX in Canada on regular cable.

Watching the lines on the bottom from the group they had assembled you could see the fix was in. When Bambi spoke the women's line usually went up quickly and straight-lined at the top. To get that result you would have to have a group with 90% Obambi voters. This happened too many times to be a fluke. The fix was in... naturally.

10 I feel a bit better about the polls then. Note how the "undecided voter" from the townhall interviewed by MSNBC ends his interview:

Peace and Love,

Heh.

15 In all fairness ace, I think you should cut Gallup some slack.

I mean, how can you expect a voter to choose between Awesome and Awesome?

20 He sounds like my boss, who says he's an "independent" voter, then in the nest sentence, he says he always votes for the Democratic candidates.

Meh, I consider myself an independent voter, too, and am registered that way. I do consider myself a conservative, though - I often vote for Republicans, but sometimes I vote for (conservative) Democrats, or even libertarians if they're more in line with my principles than either big-ticket candidate. I suppose there are also "progressive" independents, like the New Party people, or Joementum.

It sounds like in this case, though, they were just looking for Progressive Independents and not Conservative Independents. What are the bets that Gallup does this with their national polling as well? And that's in addition to the bogus sampling weights. No wonder they're such an outlier with the national Presidential poll. They are destroying their own credibility in an attempt to carry The One's rapidly cooling corpse over the finish line.

The polls are cooked, cooked, cooked. Ignore them and keep slugging. We can do it.

A poll on the enjoyability of Herpes.

I told them I was a comitted Herpes Hater.....when they asked if I was completely sure, I responded...."Well, I suppose I could change my mind, I mean...anything is possible!!"...

Then they asked me if I'd like to participate in a TownHall as someone yet undecided of the enjoyability of Herpes, I said..."Hey....Hell Yes!!"
