Ayersmania: John Murtagh Challenges Obama's Bullshit Timeline; Says Circumstances Establish Obamas and Ayers/Dohrn Knew Each Other from Mid-Eighties

First, the tough new internet ad from McCain. I stress "internet," because I'd really like to see some real ads.

Here's John Murtagh:

Transcript at Ankle Biting Pundits.

I'm glad we're finally getting into this. It's simply not credible that Barack Obama met Ayers in 1995. Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, and Charles Manson Fan Club Treasurer Bernie Dohrn all worked at the same fucking law firm, whose managing partner had gotten Dohrn a job because he was friends with Ayers' father.

The Radical Quartet have been friends since the eighties. Not the mid nineties.

CJ--

I'm liking, BUT...

I really think they should stop ignoring Ayers' wife, Bernadine Dohrn, for two reasons:

1. She went to jail rather than testify against COP-KILLERS...

2. ...in the 1980s. Not "way back in the 60s." The 1980s.

3. It was in her living room, too, that Obama launched his political career.

OK, three reasons.

Four reasons: She also celebrated the Manson murders.

I agree completely.

TomV sends this amateur video, which seems to follow Dave at Garfield Ridge's script, pretty much:

1 Attempting to extend this realtionship back to the mid eighties is just icing on the cake. What they did years later together and in open support of each other is what's important. It matters less how ong they knew each other, but that the Ayers was unrepentant during the entire time they associated - and Ayers the ideologue would not be around people who fundamentally disagreed with him, including Obama.

4 Thank God McCain is doing this; he's fighting.

Would I like a more charismatic GOP candidate to oppose Obama? As someone who cares about the trajectory of my country's biggest military ally, trading partner, and only neighbour, damn right.

However. He's being honest with the American electorate. He's saying the truth about what Obama is... a liar... a radical... someone who has knowingly associated with terrorists, then minimized it... and McCain is offering the alternative of himself, an imperfect servant who spent five and a half years in a POW camp on behalf of his country building his character while his body was broken. Then reaching across the isle to assist President Clinton in normalizing relations with the North Vietnmamese, his former tormenters.

The contrast is so stark. If the American people choose Obama they will only have themselves to blame for the dark consequences because McCain told them. He told them.

I'm very proud of him today.

6 The length is important too.  Obama was very careful about the some-guy-in-his-neighborhood theme.  The longer the association, the bigger (and more calculated?) the lie.
I know the media has let him off for some pretty bald face statements such as his claim of the senate banking committee, but those were mostly attempts to gain positive spin from someone else.  This is something much more sinister.

it is in the EARLY 80's. Ayers and obama were BOTH attending columbia at the same time. Ayers was staying a couple blocks away from where obama was.

Dr.Diamond of Global Labor has all of the goods and info on this. Obama worked with ayers in the 80's on education during the infamous school wars of chicago.

At occidental Obama was a member of the SDS a radical left-wing socialist group that Ayers was also a part of. Frank Marshall Davis Obama's communist mentor thoughout his stay in Hawaii was from chicago and was a member of the communist party of america. Obama's whole life wreaks of radicalism.

As i said yesterday, go to therealbarrackobama.com and noquarter.com

It is all there with proof and the whole web of deceit.

Ayers is simply a warm up act. This is like a suspense thriller and after the last debate all of these roads will begin to intersect and it will be a jaw dropper.

It is all out there for everyone to know. Hannity's friends of obama show is stuff these sites have been on for months. Michelle is in several photo's with Farrakhan's wife. One of the big things that will come out is Obama and Louie are close.

Obama is a NOI plant. Reverand Wright's Black Liberation Theology is alot more like the teachings of the NOI than christianity. Wright and Phlaeger have supported Farrakhan and even given awards to him. Farrakhan has been on the cover of wrights Trumpet magazine dozens of times.

A week before the election Obama will be shown for the danger he poses. THis is not just some loony leftist. He is a danger to america and what we all hold dear.

11 Why hasn't some enterprising reporter trooped up to Bill Ayers' door and done one of those stock live-shot "refused to comment".  "We tried to ask Bill Ayers' about his relationship with Barack Obama, but Ayers' wasn't talking."  They would with anyone else.

Of course, they could just skip that and ask Barry O.

12 It'll probably never come out before the election, but I think American Thinker made an interesting case for a ghost writer to Obama's first book.

Why the hell doesn't someone get Murtagh to stand for a Congressional election? If he wants it, he seems like a stand-up guy, strong, and a competent communicator.

21 Here is Obama trying to wriggle out of it:

"Why don't we just clear it up right now," Obama told ABC News' Charlie Gibson in an exclusive interview for World News. "I'll repeat again what I've said many times. This is a guy who engaged in some despicable acts 40 years ago when I was eight years old. By the time I met him, 10 or 15 years ago, he was a college professor of education at the University of Illinois . . . And the notion that somehow he has been involved in my campaign, that he is an adviser of mine, that . . . I've 'palled around with a terrorist', all these statements are made simply to try to score cheap political points."

This clears up what? Who has ever said that Ayers was an adviser??? He's denying nothing about Ayers promoting him early in his political career.  He can't deny it. And what about New Party and Obama's socialist ties and lectures. Come on Charlie Gibson, where is your gotcha journalism now!

Obama is hiding something...its painfully obvious!

McCain should come out and say, my friends we are not in high school, when Obama says he wants me to say it to his face this sounds so childish. This is serious business folks. Not something for sound bites in a debate. Obama doesn't need to answer to me; he needs to tell the American People why he would associate himself with a terrorist. They are the ones that are important here, not me. They need to be told the truth. I already know what the truth is, and now it's time for the American public to hear straight for Senator Obama.

Why is that?

A political sister of Ayers/Dohrn, Sara Jane Olson, pled guilty to two counts of possessing explosives with intent to murder….in 2001.

People don’t realize that this isn’t all “1960s” stuff. The crimes were committed in the 1970s and 1980s, with prosecutions running up into the current decade.

Regardless of who wins, the Ayers/Obama thing has ended the ability of Democrats to hang out with left-wing extremists and not get called on it. Which is a good thing.

I’ve been fantasizing about the following blast for awhile. One debate left to do it.

McCAIN: "Senator, this man, William Ayers, planted bombs in the U.S. Capitol, police stations, and the Pentagon. Now, fortunately, no one was hurt, but he brags about how that Pentagon bomb ‘disrupted the air war.’ Senator, those were my brothers risking their lives in that air war. I had already been shot down, but those were my brothers in arms that this Ayers fellow was proudly endangering. Senator, you sought the support of an unrepentant terrorist and his wife, who went to jail in the 1980s rather than testify against friends who murdered two police officers. Senator, you never should have set foot in that home."

John McCain, who survived 5+ years of communist torture, and who has TWO YOUNG SONS in the US military, is not going to step aside and let the protege of William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn become Commander in Chief of US armed forces without a fight.

It remains to be seen whether republicans are willing to join with McCain in this fight for the soul of our nation, or are going to stand back and scream insults at McCain, refuse to vote for him, and thus defacto

ELEVATE A HARD CORE AMERICA HATING COMMUNIST ASSOCIATE/ACOLYTE TO THE OFFICE OF POTUS.

Those people who say, "Let McCain lose and we'll get Palin/Whomever in 4 years" are fools. Idiots. If America is leaning TOWARD electing a terrorist-associating Marxist now, what makes them think that after four years of that person in the White House, controlling the levers of power, you'll have anything like a free and fair election then?

55

Reason 5 for Dohrn

She met Michelle Obama while both were working at Sidley Austin in the mid 1980s.

Reason 6 for Dohrn

She met Barack Obama while he was working as an intern for Sidley Austin

in the late 1980s.

Possible Reason 7

Did Dohrn introduce Michelle Obama and Barack Obama to the honchos at Sidley Austin as intern candidates based upon Ayers recommendations?

Possible Reason 8:

Ayers and Dohrn were friends with Edward Said at Columbia U. same time Obama was attending. Obama was a friend of radical pfakistinian professor Edward Said at Columbia U. Did Dohrn or Ayers introduce Obama to Said while Obama was a student attending Columbia U?

That would bring Obama's relationships with Dohrn and Ayers back to the early eighties and make it one of his longest lasting (25 years) relationship, and impossible to ignore.

Other interesting question,

Obama's first mentor was commie Frank Marshall, whom Obama refers to as his Uncle in his bio; had a jailbait sexual relationship with a fourteen year old white girl living in his town in Hawaii in the late 50s (Obama's mother's age at the time) as noted in his bio. Did Uncle Frank have contacts with Ayers? He certainly had Chicago contacts( and that is unexplored by the media as everything else having to do with Obama's history seems to be) which may be why Obama chose Chicago for his socialist activism. Did Uncle Frank make contacts for Obama's introduction there? Did Uncle Frank give Obama the street cred he needed in Chicago's rough and tumble corrupt world?

There is so much we don't know about Obama and what we do know is just so troubling that it is frightening that people will vote for that ONE (John McCain gave me permission to use that phrase) without knowing anything other than he speaks well from prepared texts and wants change. Well so did Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin and Chavez and Castro. But is that change you want to believe in?

56 It is well documented that when Obama went to Columbia he lived only 1/4 mile from Ayers.

Also while he was at Columbia Ayers was attending Banks College which is only 4 blocks away from Columbia.

After Banks Ayers taught at Columbia while Obama joined a business intelligence newsletter for about a year and then became a community organizer for a Ralph Nadar linked NY Public Interest Group.

Years in NYC as almost neighbors and nobody in the NYT or any of the local papers even want to take a look at the issue.

My money says they met back then.

Also this was the same time some ex weathermen and Black Panthers did the Armored Car heist attempt near NYC.

I would not promote this allegation. Obama visited launched his political career in the home of an unrepentent terrorist and a woman who refused to testify against the murderers of two police officers.

That's a fact, a blistering, damaging fact. The authobiography thing is much harder to prove, and could come off as a reach.

I think, politically at least, Murtaugh is gonna be McCain's best chance to get the Ayers issue to stick to Obama. He comes across as a smart guy, very knowledge about the group and he was a victim of Obama's good friend and esteemed education colleague. He puts a human face on The Weather Underground, something McCain and even Palin can't do since this was centuries ago in terms of political time. Let him tell his story to remind everyone.

Let Murtaugh 'say it to his face', and see if Obama has the balls to tell the truth to this guy.

The ad needs to include a clip of Ayers speaking recently about the wonders of classroom revolution -- they're on the net, McCain -- find them! If none of them are workable, find a written passage, full of arrogant vitriol -- he spews it continually.

Do the McCain people even understand the whole issue with Ayers?  If they keep presenting only Ayers' past, Obama can keep blowing it off as the past. There's plenty of material to show that the guy has just as much contempt for America now as he had in his WU days -- and that his new target of indoctrination are America's kids.

63 I think McCain needs to be exposing this relationship because it's the patriotic thing to do and it's his duty to do so. Further, I believe McCain understands this.

If the American people really want to elect a lying associate of domestic Pentagon-attacking Manson-idolizing cop-killing leftist terrorists to the Presidency, then America has truly fallen a great deal. And it's a democracy for the moment so I guess that's how things are.

But it won't be McCain's fault; it will be the American people's fault. God help those stupid assholes, present company excepted.

Regardless of who wins, the Ayers/Obama thing has ended the ability of Democrats to hang out with left-wing extremists and not get called on it. Which is a good thing.

That's assuming that Obama loses.  If he wins, it sends a pretty clear message that half the country doesn't care whether your oldest friend is a murdering psychopath who you continue to stand by until it's going to cost you something professionally.

Posted by: Alice H at October 09, 2008 12:27 PM (jRtPb)

67 None of this is going to amount to a bucket of spit unless we see John Murtagh on 60 Minutes or one of the other broadcast networks. I know a lot more people watch FOX, but they're preaching to the choir. The voters who count haven't the slightest idea who this scumbag Ayers and his murderous wife are.

70 Getting away with murder

Posted: November 10, 2003 at 6:34 p.m.--

"For three decades, the police murders remained unsolved. Evidence from the two crime scenes sat in the police property room.

KRON 4 News has learned that three years ago, San Francisco police secretly re-opened the case. Armed with new forensic technology and with State and Federal agencies helping, SFPD investigators began to work full-time on the murders.

And now, sources tell us, those investigators have identified potential suspects: former members of two militant groups in the '60s and '70s -- the Weather Underground and the Black Liberation Army, people who've been out of the spotlight for decades. The most prominent among them is Bernadine Dohrn, a former leader of the Weather Underground and now a law professor at Northwestern University in Illinois.

They started as the Weathermen during the latter half of the turbulent '60s. As they became more militant, they changed their name to the Weather Underground. It was a homegrown guerilla movement against the war in Vietnam and injustices at home. Its objective was to wage an armed struggle against the government.

The Weather Underground battled police at anti-war rallies. Members even broke LSD guru Timothy Leary out of prison. They bombed at least two dozen buildings across the country, including the Capitol and the Pentagon. Their targets: military and government offices and police departments.

In the early '70s, some of of the group led by Bernadine Dorhn escaped to the west coast. Dohrn was on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list. J. Edgar Hoover called her "the most dangerous woman in America."

For a time, according to law enforcement sources, Dohrn and her group lived in the Bay Area on a houseboat in Sausalito. Testimony before a federal grand jury in 1970 allegedly linked Dohrn to a February bombing attack of the Berkeley police department in which two officers were injured. And now, 30 years later, law enforcement sources tell KRON 4 News they believe Dohrn and members of the Weather Underground may have been responsible for the bombing of Park Police Station in San Francisco three days later, a bombing that killed officer Brian McDonnell. But police never had the evidence to prove it.

Dohrn remained a fugitive until 1980, when she and her husband Bill Ayers turned themselves in. Dohrn, who pleaded guilty to battery and jumping bail, was fined and placed on probation."

no it does not matter obama's age. Why? because ayers and dorhn have said that their work in education is an attempt to continue their radical agenda of the 70's.

Also, for the folks saying mac should not do this. Were you not the same folks crying that he wasn't doing it?

This is damning. It is also spooled out. Soon it will be focused on how Obama worked on education and juvenile justice with Ayers and Dorhn.

They need an ad asking if America thinks Ayers should be education sec.

Or Rezko as HUD sec.

Obama has so many radical ties, and EVERYTIME he says "i did not know" or "that is not the man i knew"

He is lying, that is what will sink him. Between now and the election he will be forced to speak the truth.

What's depressing is that the MSM is flat out stonewalling all the various absolutely true crap about The Messiah, and going over the top in digging anything they can up on Palin.  Bits of all the scummy associations and behavior of Obama leak out, but the public has made up its mind and the MSM is not rubbing the public's faces in Obama's dirt.

It seems to me that the dying, increasingly irrelevent MSM still has the power to swing elections if they set their mind to it, as they have done this year.  If the MSM were the least bit evenhanded, Obama would be history.  Would have been history against Hillary.  Ace and other conservative blogs, as well as talk radio, are doing their best, but the message is just not getting out to the masses.

This Ayers-Dohrn nonsense is fiddling while Rome burns. I hope it keeps him warm in Sedona for the next four years. Every minute that McCain wastes pursuing this line is a minute not spent laying out the details of a plan to right the ship after the Dems' mishandling of the mortgage stuff, is a minute not dissecting Obama's tax increases, is a minute not giving honest, considered, right-of-center policy points that 271 electoral votes' worth of people can vote for.

McCain is being poorly advised. The same morons who advised him to pull out of Michigan (great morale-booster, John; the resources you save by cutting MI loose are trounced by orders of magnitude by the perception that you're on the ropes--nothing says "this thing's in the can" like leaving a state. Hell, he could've left one office open and said nothing...) are the ones who've said "attack Barry on Ayers."

Here's the bottom line: people don't care about Ayers. He's an asshole, he's a terrorist, he's nobody to pal around with, if justice was served he'd be doing time. I get it. America gets it. But people are not going to not vote for McCain because of Ayers. Why? Because Ayers is an anachronism for the voting public every bit as much as the whole "Dr. No" ad. It gets no traction, it's not going to win the election. It's a dog that don't hunt.

Where's the outrage? Does that matter? Doesn't seem to.

If being dead right is the goal, then yes: nail Obama on Ayers, lose the election, and carry your chin high. "At least we can show the Dems they can't pal around with 60s leftists with impunity." Sure, chump, keep the consolation prize. Like they care if they get the girl and you get the stuffed monkey.

If putting the Chicago Jesus away on November 4 is the goal, then drop this Ayers angle, beat the drum on the guy's lack of experience for every minute up to the 4th, and pitch--HARD--on righting the economy from a conservative perspective.

There was however one unintentionally funny comment that stated with regards to the Ayers allegations, [it can't be true because] "if this were true, that would mean everyone who voted for Obama is an idiot."  Alas, I had no login to agree with this comment.

The main opinion on Dkos front page is that it is "treasonous" to criticize Obama. I skimmed but did not find a single comment that actually addresses the truthfulness of the claims directly and not a single negative word about Ayers. Their main argument is that if it were true why wasn't it brought up before.

In and of itself, it probably isn't enough, but it's still a hell of a debit that many voters still haven't heard about. The MSM has embargoed investigative stories on the Ayers-Obama association. Many would be shocked to know how socialist and radical Obama is, except that Obama has been trained to conceal who he is. He learned it from Team Ayers, a terrorist/socialist radical who worked underground and concealed to carry on in his activism. That is the shield that must be penetrated.

Now it is. That is step one. Step two is to link the radicalization of academia/students, ACORN, voter fraud, and Fannie/Freddie into the whole story and produce the complex timeline of associations and coordination along the way. Ayers is the apex of the pyramid. Everything, from employment, training, molding, writing, funding - everything - about Obama's adult life radiates within the orbit of Ayers.

It's a stepwise process of educating the voter. Team McCain is attacking exactly what they need to first to get to the underlying structure leading to the economic failure created by Obama's past and Democrat's present.

Keep the faith. This is a big deal, but McCain must pound on this every day, adding a little bit more every other day to advance the story. The public won't wholly appreciate just the bombing time until they understand the whole essence and depth of Obama's radicalism.

Posted by: AnonymousDrivel at October 09, 2008 01:16 PM (sI5Ho)

94 I'm not so sure that Obama had any significant association, if any, with Ayers prior to 1995.  I say this based on the lack of anyone coming forward to say they saw them together no matter how innocuous prior to 1995.  Also Obama's denials leave no wiggle room.  An association may not kill his chances but a coverup would and their is no reason why he would take that chance.

CJ: I just don't think that there's enough time on the clock to adequately pitch the convoluted "Ayers=Obama" line. It should've been the first thing in ads in the first week after the convention. Now there's not nearly enough time to make the byzantine connections that some folks need handwalking through.

Ask yourself: what is voter word association with the below?

Stock market: "holy shit, my 401k is horsefucked."
Mortgages: "Should I refinance now? How much will rates jump?" etc.
William Ayers: (?)

Now's the time to make a simple, hardcore, sensible pitch: "lower taxes, Wall Street public hangings, drill baby drill, The One hasn't run anything. Oh, and Up-Do is hotter than Mullet"

It won't be played, though, which is why--among other reasons--McCain is going to pull out a squeaker in a month.

Obama's beliefs and standards? How much do you have to hate this country and how much do you have to harm it before Obama will get ticked off.

120 railwriter, while this is percolating on the web, McCain is whacking the Freddy/Fanny connections.

Not as hard as he could, perhaps.

But the pieces all actually tie together. Put each piece out separately. Establish them individually. Then point out the cross-links. (Like suing Citibank for ACORN, knowing Dohrn, etc.)

Al:

At least 45% of the country thinks Obama is qualified to be president.

These are the same mouth-breathers you want to walk through ACORN, MacMae, Dohrn, Obama, housing collapse. Through the MSM. In three weeks.

You're a glass-half-full kinda guy, aren't ya?
