The trolls are out in extra force on this post. If this were merely a tie or a slight Palin failure, I don't think there would be quite the urgency among the bridge-dwellers to rain on the conservative parade.

Palin scored. Palin won. The only question is by how much and by how much this affects Nov. 4th.

And no matter the answer to that question, no one who is open to changing their mind is going to dismiss out of hand the capabilities of Palin in general. In that (thank you MSM) we have won headily.)

16 I hope to Hell that the McCain people were paying attention when they showed the Luntz focus group on Fox and they showed the approvals going through the roof when she spoke about personal responsibility. The people of this country are smart enough and can understand that this is about a combination stupid and/or predatory borrowers and a political class that promoted it and looked the other way.

This is the kind of statement that moderate politicians are loathe to make because they think they have to make sure all people believe nobody is at fault except those evil and more powerful rich guys on Wall St. People talk around the water cooler, they speak with their friends and family and no matter what the media spouts this stuff gets out.

Memo to McCain you can follow up on this as Obama would never go there with you and he would come off looking like a typical politician with his platitudes. You can then, oh please, land the devastating blows about the dem's ties to the firms at the center of this, stick a knife in and twist...

And yet, during the days immediately after she appeared, McCain surged in the polls until he overtook and passed Obama, and he held the lead for two weeks, until this entire financial crisis thing exploded.

There's always something screwy about these undecided polls, the chief of which is that they rely upon the honesty of the people who are claiming to be actually "undecided".

That Luntz's group went wild for Palin (when they previously hadn't) tells me far more the anonymous CBS poll.
