I think we're having a problem with the definition of a "fake band" and a "real band."

I feel if a band actually performed in front of a live audience, don't lip synch, and play their own instruments then they are "real" regardless of how they were formed.

The Blues Brothers, Spinal Tap, and the Monkees have all performed concerts so should be considered real.

Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem Band don't play their own instruments so they are "fake."

The Brady's. Debatable. They don't play instruments but they sing.
