The regular ensemble cast of the earlier years made the show enjoyable and tempered Letterman's dominance. When the show seemingly became all Letterman all the time with Shaffer filling in more time than other bit players, I became less interested. He did "another broadcast" much earlier in the day; to say he lied about why he cancelled is completely unfair.  When it comes to scheduling issues, fucking Letterman isn't exactly #1 on the priority list nor should it be.
