"eswinner's" YouTube Account Officially Closed 15 Minutes Ago;
No Defamation Without Representation!

I would once again stress that this is the best confirmation of everything Rusty alleged... and the stuff he didn't quite allege but we're all thinking is most likely true.

"eswinner" is not sitting at the computer watching right-wing blogs post stories.

"eswinner" does not have a staff vigilantly monitoring the internet for damaging stories.

Neither, for that matter, does Winner & Associates.

But the Barack Obama campaign, headed up by David Astroturf, does.

Barack Obama and the DNC watch this blog. And I've put them on notice since this afternoon that a story about them was coming.

Within an hour of the story being posted, the videos began coming down. Within 90 minutes they were all down.

That's a pretty fast response time. I didn't mention Winner & Associates in my hints. So why would they be on notice?

I only mentioned Axelrod and Obama.

No, I do not believe that a random Winner & Associates employee just happened to be reading the Ace of Spades website and suddenly came across a link to a story about them and then decided to wake the bosses over it.

I believe the Obama campaign and the DNC have been watching since this afternoon. And they put the call into "eswinner" to get those videos down and bury the evidence.

And now "eswinner" has decided to end his short career on YouTube, despite the fact that this was his Best. Day. Eveehhhhh.

If he was just some ordinary schnook who wanted people to check out his rad smear-videos about Sarah Palin, shouldn't he be happy he was getting so many hits all of a sudden? Isn't that the dream of every basement-dwelling wannabe Murrow of the Internet? Attention? Fame? Hits?

Why is he suddenly so shy to have his work seen? Why does he feel compelled now to delete his account entirely? To erase any and all evidence of his YouTube presence?

Why, just a week ago, he was so psyched that "FINALLY THE TRUTH COMES OUT!" Doesn't he want the truth to come out any longer?

If none of this is shadowy, as they will all claim tomorrow, why did they so quickly retreat from sunlight?

They don't even want you to see the video they were once so proud of anymore. What changed, exactly?

Questions, questions.

Why, you'd almost think that perhaps these videos were intended to fly completely under the radar or something. And that now that they're very much above the radar, they're embarrassing "eswinner." Or the client who has hired "eswinner" to peddle vicious smears under the radar so that the client himself could pretend he doesn't traffic in viciously dishonest advertisements.

If the media wants to know why this story is important:

1) It's calculatedly dishonest to attempt to scam the public with videos by "concerned citizens" which are in fact professional electioneering communications put out at the behest of a supposedly new-politics politician. People trust average "neutral" and "independent" citizens more than someone known to be an interested party. It was a scandal when it was revealed that stockbrokers were pimping their own stocks on day-trader sites, pretending to be just average investors with hot tips. Same deal here.

2) Such ads don't get fact-checked, as they're supposedly from regular schnooks. No one fact-checks a regular schnook. So Axelrod and Obama can spread lies about Palin, completely refuted and debunked 11 days before the ad was posted, and not worry about media busy-bodies calling foul.

The plan in this case was to tap into the massive traffic of the Daily Kos and have each reader send the video, under the radar, to ten friends, and have them send it to ten friends, etc. The post in question was likely written by a Winner & Associates employee. Just as Winner & Associates employee tapped into Democratic Underground, linking it there. YouTube ads are big business -- and this one was so stinking of outdated lies it had to be done under the table, in the shadows. Where no one would take much notice of it; certainly not the media's fact-checkers. But, if successful, it would go viral and a huge number of people would end up seeing it.

And no one would know where this ad came from.

The plan didn't quite work -- the lies being pushed were already utterly rubbished, and there were new, exciting smears the netroots were more interested in. But it didn't fail for lack of trying.

3) This is just the tip of the iceberg. David Axelrod is known as "the Master of Astroturfing," and this is just his sloppiest and most brazen effort (thusfar detected). You know what also doesn't get fact checked? The tens of thousands of coordinated comments smearing McCain and Palin posted every day on media and blog threads, many of which are being written by "concerned Christian conservative commenters" who are in fact agents of David Axelrod and the DNC -- either directly, as in on-the-payroll sockpuppets, or indirectly, as in big internet groups determined to do "the dirty stuff Obama can't do himsef."

Obama can't cast doubt on Palin's fitness as a mother without risking electoral debacle.

But his legions of busy, busy, busy internet sockpuppets can. He gets the benefit of the smear without having to accept any of the responsibility for it.

Rusty, by the way, will have something on that angle later, too. (My single contribution to any of this was telling him to cut his story into two pieces and just focus on the videos for now. Good advice, I think. The netroots campaign wil be a follow-up.)

These are all election communications -- and these in particular are putting out the most vile smears imaginable. But no one bothers checking their veracity -- and, crucially, no one connects them with the "New Politics of Hope and Change" Obama -- because they're supposedly just the chatter of ordinary citizens in cyberspace.

They are not.

Just like there really were not a lot of "regular concerned citizens" united in their urgent desire to see Chicago utilities raise their rates for gas and electricity.

They were fictions created by David Axelrod to dishonestly manipulate public opinion.

They were lies. It wasn't just what they were saying were lies. They were also lying about who, in fact, was speaking those lies.

Everything they said was a lie, including the "a's" and "the's." And, as a new twist: including the "I's."

Not only is this tactic dishonest, but it demonstrates a flagrant contempt for the intelligence of the average voter.

Here's a story:

Obama thinks you're fucking stupid. And furthermore, he thinks the only way he can win your vote is to lie to you.

On that last score, he's probably right.

Thanks to MatthewW for the head's up.

All the Winners Have Left the Field... "cnwinner" has deleted his account too.

The coordinated the beginning off this and they've coordinated the end of this, too.

Well... not the end of this. But they did successfully remove their accounts.

Don't you guys do crisis communication? I gotta tell you, you pulling the ads and your accounts down is, what is the phrase, consciousness of guilt. You realize you've pretty much scotched all the various "innocent mistake" defenses?

And how on earth are you going to credibly explain that you had no calls come in from the Obama campaign, that "eswinner" just happens to be a huge fan of Ace of Spades and Prof. Rusty Shackelford and just happened to catch the posts within minutes of their going up?

You guys are fans, huh? Really?

I don't remember any donations, guys.

I guess I'm more popular with Democoratic media firm executives than I thought.

Screencaps: of the accounts, before Mr. Average Concerned Citizen "eswinner" erased them all.

1 The Obama Campaign a grotesque monstrosity of self serving lies and deception.

Two questions you better fucking ask yourself America!

Who the fuck is the guy?

How the hell can you even consider trusting him with our country?

2 Yeah, #1. I am still waiting for OBarry to introduce himself. This campaign has a really weird feel to it from day one.

3 I really think there's a tiny possibility this might help McCain-Palin in some small unidentifiable way. Too bad the MSM won't go after Obama nor even Axelrod.

Actually, when it comes to AMA, Mesa and I agree, that we only want people who "get it."

But we do it for free, and don't give one fuck if we are famous.

I can be famous as a commentor, I don't even need a blog.

5 Ace this has been an interesting evening. Thanx for all the hard work. New vigilance in modern media. I have learned a lot from this.

6 Obama will probably win the election, but it's nice to see not only McCain and Palin putting up a fight, but conservative bloggers do real reporting which will, unfortunately, be missed by the majority of the public unlike Obama's propoganda.

Posted by: Christoph at September 22, 2008 04:56 AM (hawOV)

7 Again, I ask... ACE!! Has this stuff actually been sent to major MSM outlets? Of course, send it to the radio talkers and major bloggers, but it can't hurt to have the "elite" media see it, even if for the second it takes them hit delete. Plant the seed.

8 I want to register an official complaint.

Because of late-night activity like this, I'm operating on so little sleep that I'm a danger on the road.  When I get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, I'm compelled to check out Ace of Spades, as I know y'all never sleep.

It's tough being the all-night protector of American Freedom.

10 "Who the fuck is this guy?"

The product of 40 years of leftist indoctrination and infiltration.

He's "the One," meaning the one who was supposed to take us into Marxist heaven.

The problem is that he actually started believing his own propaganda, like Woody Allen in The Front.  He actually starting thinking he was all that a bag of chips

That's what will save us, I think.  I'm pretty sure McCain will trash him in all three debates, because I've seen no evidence whatsoever in the past two years that Obama can debate his way out of a wet paper bag.

But McCain can. And McCain is serious about winning.

And McCain is pissed at Obama now.

It'll be, as Wellington said about Waterloo, " a damn nice thing--the nearest-run thing you ever saw," but I think we'll win.

19 One of the most interesting things I learned here this morning is Axelrod's scare campaign on behalf of the utility company for rate hikes. That is some seriously sleazy shit, and calls into question once again Obama's judgement on who he surrounds himself with. Who the fuck would be running the IRS for him? The DOJ? Treasury? Scary to think about it, huh?

21 Really folks, think about a political movement who gets into power with an orchestrated campaign to lie about it's identity, agenda, and opponents. That is not hyperbole in the context of this information.

Thats the kind of fascist-crypto-Orwellian activity that nutters always pretend exists. If we let it happen now, what the hell is going to happen after a few years of control of all banches of federal government?

For starters, sites like this will be shut down in a hurry. (But not before the obligatory "taking of names")

23 Heh. And yet again, the sheer arrogance of the Anointed One proves to be his undoing. Yes, Axelrod and his buddies are good at the sort of corporate espionage work that they have the (admittedly deserved) reputation for. But- and this is a serious but- this is national politics in the early twenty -first century. Assuming that you're smarter than your oppisition in this day and age is a fatal mistake.

And by being this arrogant and cocky, the entire Obama campaign and it's supporters are gonna drive themselves right off a cliff. Not that there's anything bad about that, mind.

If they're gonna do this, it's gonna make for a fun election season.

26 One more Idea: Could some legislator get traction on this issue by pushing a "transparency in astroturfing" law?

I wouldn't propose making anything illegal--but everyone should be in favor of full disclosure, right?

How about the requirement that any company which is astroturfing needs to file a record of the nature of the act--which issues, who they preteneded to be, and the places and scope of the action.

Thats legislation that would have no downside, and would make this an issue soon. Er, if congress stays in session.

Short and sweet..... what is the meat here, and why should people care?

This information will greatly impair the ability of the obamobots to run this sort of campaign. It calls in question the origin of every piece of filth they post. The real grassroots people who actually are boonswaggled enough, to  believe everything they put out, they will start to wonder now, every time they see something new show up, be it a commentor or Youtube video. The same way this steady stream of filth starts to seep into people's minds, this truth, this doubt will begin to seep into their minds. It thrusts into the limelight, in a fresh way, Axelrod's background and profitable, unethical "stick it to the man" manner of making a living. It says, how can Nobama be for hope and change if his campaign manager is paid to lie for a lving? Paid to hoodwink masses of people for profit?

59 Speaking as a deeply concerned Christian Conservative (one who shoots guns and has voted "R" ever since Reagan) I'm not sure we have enough evidence to jump to any conclusions based on the sketchy accusations surrounding these so-called "astroturfing" ads.  I think it would be best to just let this whole thing slide before saying anything that might embarrass us later.  It was probably a simple oversight on the part of an eager ad executive who just happens to like Democrats.  This could just as easily happened to any of us Republicans (who earn more than $150K and regularly read the Bible) as well.  Besides, only he without sin should be casting any stones.  Not only should we forgive and forget, I bet the guys behind the ad didn't really mean to do it and will never do it again.

62 I had to go to bed and missed all the action. Couldn't you guys have gotten it done earlier? Or maybe waited until I got up? Sheesh.

On this issue of liberals hitting the conservative blogs--are they ever, and they've got a list. I've seen some suspicious Republican-ish activity on some of the liberal blogs I read--and the libs think everyone who has anything but praise for The Annointed is a concern troll--but it ain't nothing like what I'm seeing on the conservative blogs.

What exactly do they think that is going to accomplish? Wow, a liberal posted a comment on an Ace of Spades post? I'm gonna vote for Obama now. Wow, a concerned Christian thinks a radical, America-hating communist is the way to go? Well, since he's a concerned Christian, I better vote like him! Because I'm a moron!

I used to enjoy the comment section on Urban Conservative, because it was relatively light--but since it comes up high on a google search for "conservative blog", the comments on posts have been looking like Ace of Spades. And most of them lefty trolls. Defenders of the One True Politician. And so on.

What does comment-section astro-turfing get them? Anything? One has to wonder.

66 I was watching Bill Maher on HBO last night. His guests were Ace's pal, Andrew Sullivan, along with Naomi Klein and some guy whose name I didn't catch who looked like an extra from the set of 'Get Christy Love'. The four of them were complaining the Obama campaign in particular and the Democratic Party in general are being entirely too nice. They can't possibly truly believe such a thing--Maher and Sullivan especially--but they push the 'too nice' meme, anyway, hoping to plant the notion in the public mind that ongoing smear campaigns and dirty tricks are entirely the work of an over-enthusiastic netroots chafing at the gentility of the One. Obama is a lightworker, remember. Lightworkers don't play old-school machine politics. So I'll say/write it again: it's time we took it to them hard and low. Let's talk constantly, incessantly about Obama's friendships with Ayers, Aimes, Axelrod and others. Let's talk about Obama and his pastor and his church and its ties to the Nation of Islam. Let's talk about Michelle Obama's anti-American statements--and discuss her fitness as a mother while we're at it. Let's talk about Obama's half-brother living in a shack in a third-world ghetto. Let's really, really talk about Joe Biden--his lies, his plagarism, his absolute unfitness to be anywhere near the Presidency. Peggy Noonan and other supposed conservatives claim the McCain campaign would further divide the country by going virulently negative. They're wrong. And even if they aren't, so be it. The American people should never be able to say of an Obama Administration they didn't know or hear or read anywhere before the election how corrupt or cynically calculating or dishonestly manipulative Democratic Party leadership has become.

Four or eight years of this insidious astrotrufing, race baiting politician will be very bad for America.

While this whole episode (and the others like it) is interesting, ultimately it means very little.  You caught them and they quickly tried to cover their tracks.  Great job!  However, other than getting them to stop this time, you really didn't accomplish much.

First, this will never in a million years make it into the mainstream.  The media will give it a big "Eh, whatever."  The average citizen will never hear a word about this.

Second, you have taught these retards a few lessons about how to cover your tracks.  The next round of this will be disguised even better and be harder to ferret out.

I applaud everyone's efforts, but I don't think it ultimately matters.

I can appreciate that, but the reason this is a problem -- the reason astroturfing works at all -- is that critical thinking skills are lacking in the populace. Part of the problem is an educational system that's been shitting all over critical thinking, not just ignoring it, for at least half a century.

Medicinal: What exactly do they think that is going to accomplish?

Internal fractures, measured by and compared to the Democrats' own fracturing. Of course, the difference is that RINOs and conservatives aren't usually trying to appeal to reds. That is, Leftism is defined by fracture and "change" (talk about code words...), agitation and misdirection. After all, a population that knows what it wants and that it doesn't have it doesn't need agitation. Only those poor slob oppressed proles need to wake up to the reality of their chainzzzz!

I heartily concur!& so does my husband, and so do our sons. One of many reasons we have home educated our youngest (he's 15). He has been keeping his neighborhood buddies informed and they are all public school students and graduates (oldest already enrolled in Nat Guard and scheduled to deploy in spring). You're right, but I still believe there's hope! Just listening to those guys is like reading a younger version of these commentors talking. It's flippin' awesome!

Our oldest (24) was recently discussing politics with a man older than me, at his new job. The man was a conservative, etc, etc. He couldn't believe how knowledgeable and conversant my son was in the issues he was concerned about. It was so cool! Yeah, I know, I am braggin' about my kids and that's kinda cheap, but, there really are others out there who are thinkin'! Not as many as we'd ike, but enough to keep me hopeful!

Factcheck.org has a piece claiming that a McCain ad is false. Why, because McCain accuses Obama of spreading lies about himself and Palin and uses factcheck as proof. "But no," sez factcheck Obama's campaign is not the source of these false rumors about McCain and Palin these just sprouted up on the web.

Guess fucking what.... Yes, Obama's campaign IS the source of net-lies and web-turds and it is being proven every day now.

Good work guys.

93 Whoever submitted this to Fark jumped the gun a bit. IT greened far too early in the morning to get the flamewar it deserved.

Of course, the basic reaction from the Obama supporters is two-pronged. A) Continue the attacks against Palin with slight variations (Well, her husband was a member of a secessionist party!!!) and B) Attack Rusty, et al, as right-wing loons with no credibility (ironic for people who use Kos as their main news source).

I genuinely hope this gets picked up by someone and followed through to the end. You guys have done fantastic work.

You know, this whole astroturf thing was clever, but Obama's people would be REALLY clever if they got the whole of the media covering their ass for them, running "fact checks" on their opponents while leaving them alone, making up wld stories about McCain and Palin and running them front page, getting big name reporters to tell people to leave Obama alone.

That would be pretty smart right there.

102 Unfortunately, I just got back from a business trip, and am NOT up to speed on this at all.

1. Is there any way to get this story on Drudge? That would make it much more difficult to it difficult to ignore since so many outlets (t.v./print) link to and use Drudge stories.

2. Part of the problem (as I see it) would be to make a SUCCINCT, yet compelling synopsis for Drudge as to exactly how the Axelrod/Obama campaign are actively using surrogates to smear the opposition.

Now I was with several PUMA's and had brought in free chocolate, so the ‘really?’ and such I got in response might be influence by that.  Still, they were not dismissing it as something outlandish.

Too bad I didn’t speculate out loud wondering if Obama did this to Hillary in the primaries.

Posted by: Brian72 at September 22, 2008 05:18 AM

Yes, scary.

Even scarier...if Obama is elected, then the media becomes his de facto propaganda mill. They already are for his campaign, but covering for a socialist government takes hardcore propaganda efforts - as in "Ministry of Information" hardcore.

There will be no watchdog, no accountability, no checks and balances.

Ace, as someone commented in the flaming skull thread early, early this morning, you left out a (4)... that all of this happened about a backwater politician in a matter of days that only the conservative blogosphere had been discussing (on the periphery) prior to the surprise announcement.

So the "concerned citizens", none of whom were using Alaskan ISPs etc., were all of a sudden experts going back decades on an unkown politician that the vast majority of Americans (and Canadians!) and the MSM couldn't have named ("Who is the Governor of Alaska?") if there were a $100,000 prize riding on it.

The speed and organisation of the attacks is evidence of them being organised and not just unrelated bloggers, YouTubers etc. posting about something new or hot. (Kind of like how Russia just happened to have its Black Sea fleet at sea and have an organised and supplied army all ready to go on its borders with Georgia when the Georgians launched their retalitory attacks against the separatists.)

[My apologies if anyone's already raised this issue in the comments, above.]

We are so fucking tired of this. So fucking tired of having to the job of the MSM. So fucking tired of the hypocrisy. The double standards. So tired of seeing the blatant bias of those who would be the gatekeepers of this election.

125 This story really goes to the heart of the deception and subterfuge which is the candidacy of  Barack Obama. During the Democretin primaries all we heard about was this allegedly massive "grassroots" wave that arose spontaneously unmediated from "the people" against the corrupt Clinton machine. It was always "grassroots" this and "grassroots" that yadda yadda yadda... and now we know that it was all an elaborate, intricate and skillfully executed deception on a mass scale, perperated with the full complicity and succor of the MSM.

Barack Obama is an marketing trope.

(oops, redundant)  They never reveal their affiliations.  Of course, they're just "concerned citizens". 137 Wow. This pack of thugs makes me miss those upright, square dealing Clintons. And I'm serious about that. This ass terrifies me.

Also, good job on this story, but I'm with the rest of the eeyore's on this. Unfortunately, it won't do much in the way of bringing down The One.

138 MSM: Gee whiz, we’d love to look into this story some more, but we just got a hot tip from Sarah Palin’s hairdresser’s cousin’s girlfriend’s plumber, who told that stuffed her bra in seventh grade. We have no choice but to wonder what else she’d be willing to deceive the country about.

139 How's about bringing some guns to a knife fight?
1. Barack Obama's medical records. Where are they? What is he trying to hide?
2. Barack Obama and Terrorist William Ayers. Barack Obama lied on national TV about his knowledge of William Ayers. What's the truth? What is he trying to hide?
3. Barack Obama's "lost years". What is he trying to hide?
There's a theme there, if the McCainiacs would just start hopping on it.
We can only hope for the sake of our democracy that someone does hop on it.

141 I do wonder if part of this story was meant to draw out the astroturfing comments and track their IP addresses.  I have no idea, but I'm seeing a lot of suspicious folks here and at Rusty's.

EC, if you go to http://www.annegartlan.com/hype.html it notes that she is an SAG member.  Not sure if it matter much... she was obviously a paid talent, but if this is the right person, I want to know how the legit consumers of her work feel about her smearing Palin with this horrific ad (if you haven't seen it, you should check it out... it's a doozy).

Those who think this is not a big enough deal to destroy Obama: you're right.  We live in times of huge problems economically and with the war, and people care about that a lot more than this.  But Obama isn't trustworthy, and this will play into that at least somewhat.  We do not have the full story yet.  No one knows how far this will go, but given the dumbness of the Winners (no one could be dumb enough to hire them again, right?), I think we'll see a lot more to the story.  They are 'crisis management pros', and they are scrambling like their faces are on fire.  This scandal will go further, in my opinion, and I think it will get pretty juicy.

"eswinner" is not sitting at the computer watching right-wing blogs post stories.

"eswinner" does not have a staff vigilantly monitoring the internet for damaging stories.

Neither, for that matter, does Winner & Associates.

Loose shit.  If nothing else, W&A is the archetypal ad firm for the 24-hour news cycle.  They monitor this shit to specifically tailor their clients' message.  They have to; if they get exposed, their efforts lose the organic homemade feel that is their raison d'etre.  So, yes, I have no doubt that some flack is sitting at his computer monitoring the Internet buzz.  They probably get e-mails from Google et al every hour just to see how often "Winner & Associates" gets mentioned, just to make sure nobody's making them famous.

Besides, you still gave them lead time.  "I didn't mention Winner & Associates in my hints. So why would they be on notice?"  Birds of a feather?  I never drive drunk, but I make more of an effort to buckle my seatbelt, keep under the speed limit, etc. during the semi-annual "Over The Limit: Under Arrest" crackdowns on drunk driving.  Why?  Because cops will easily pull me over for lesser offenses just to go fishing for a DUI.  Similarly, you gave Winner a full-day headstart and even tipped that it would involve astroturfing from a PR firm connected to David Axelrod.  Come on: they're assholes, not idiots.

Now, yeah, the rest of the post, specifically the part about the Winners pulling their ads just as they were on the verge of pulling down "Dramatic Chipmunk"-level YouTube hits, is definitely telling.  Unravel that string.

And by being this arrogant and cocky, the entire Obama campaign and it's supporters are gonna drive themselves right off a cliff.

This is big news, which is why no one outside of a few right-leaning commentators will mention it. The MSM will prove that this astroturfing by Axelrod shows how evil Republicans are because loving, wonderful Democrats have to lie, cheat and steal to win elections.

Seriously, this would end a campaign if it weren't Obama and the press weren't all busy sucking his hoo-ha. Since it is The Chosen Sphincter Muscle, this will go down the memory hole and the next bullshit astroturf video will go viral the Friday before election day, meaning no one will find out the truth until it's too late.

I dislike McCain. A lot. I've made no bones about that little fact. However, I'm extremely worried as to where this country will go if the lying cocksuckers in the MSM and the Chicago machine boys from Obama's staff get hold of the Whitehouse. In fact, I'm not sure how we'd recover from such a thing. Black would become white. Up would become down. New Coke would become the "real thing".

174 I know Kasper's a long-time hand, so he's not sowing dissension, but he and MobyLoooo are right to an extent.  IF, and that's a big IF, BO can pin this to Republicans, we're fucked.  But it's a pretty bipartisan group of malefactors in this mess, and BO has the Fannie/Freddy donations as an anchor on his ability to use this attack effectively.

All in all, the financial crash will either really (REALLY) shake shit up (read: riots and gunfire in which case the election will go to McCain simply by virtue o0f it being too dangerous in the big cities to go vote) or it will pass without much impact on the election.

Even people who aren't politically savvy that I've talked to know that McCain is not Bush's friend.  Palin cements that status, and makes the ticket appealing to the working and lower middle class demographic.  It's a perfect move.

The only thing that really remains to be seen is whether Biden in fact jumps out so Hillary! can take over.

As for AstroturfAxelrod, this is a good story, and will get picked up some.  Sadly, its impact will only be to make the Dems cover their tracks better, though. I hate teaching them how to do things right.

Good work,  though, RUsty and Ace.

What, exactly, do you suppose Ace can do about the financial crisis? Hmm?  Pretty sure he's mentioned Obama's ties to Fannie and Freddy.  After that, there's not much he can do, since it's out of his hands.  Similarly, how can he act to contain the Wall Street bloodbath so that it doesn't affect us?  Again, I think he's empty there.

This just got a mention (albeit in passing) on Fox News. The context was a concall earlier today where Steve Schmidt opened up on the NYT for being in the tank for BHO.  From what Carl Cameron reported, the question Steve was asked was about "some allegations on the blogs that David Axelrod was behind the smearing of Sarah Palin."  'Not sure how/why Schmidt immediately ripped into the NYT, though.

Not exactly a MSM headline, but a mention in less than 24 hours nonetheless.  Not bad.

192 No, rd, I'm not singling you out at all.  Calling Ed out for pessimism and defeatism is fine.  I'm not suggesting you have to keep up with names.  (I don't)

But when we have an influx of folks who insist on shouting down any disagreement and call people liars and traitors (mobies), then it's a bit irritating.  Questioning someone's bona fides when the questioner is utterly ignorant is very much akin to shitting on a carpet when you don't know who lives there.

194 Alright.  So now I’ve read the story – but didn’t get to see the pictures [not complaining!].

I don’t mind being late to the party, here…  And y’all can call me naďve or “just another dumb blonde,” but if it was so easy for one company to do this for the alleged “chosen one,” why hasn’t any one done this for John McCain [other than most members of the GOP just are not willing to stoop so low – that we have some morals and ethics and all that – but politics being what it is…]?  And, beside the fact, that if a Republican did it, it would be front page news on every single paper in the entire world tomorrow.

Honestly, with all that is going on – in the “chosen one’s” favor, I don’t even see how we stand a chance – no matter who our Party’s candidate is.

And, thankfully for blogs, I do get some news.  And try to keep up…  [Of course, it’s not always easy with so many blogs being blocked by Websense – the most useless program in the entire universe, as far as I am concerned – we wouldn’t want to be able to see what the rest of the world is up to, now would we!?!?]  I can’t stand to watch CNN International and Fox News is on – a lot – when our satellites are not being blocked [they are, currently, it being Ramadan and all…  Bastards!  Not Fox, the powers that be, here in Saudi Arabia].

There is my Riyal or so…  It’s worth about .37 in U.S. Dollars.

200 Well, I'm a huge fan but I've never donated cause... well, I'm poor. Still, there is one possibility here: there's at least some staff on this bozo's payroll that is trolling the internet for "astroturf" and "axelrod" and checking every site.

201 Ace, I think it's time to start trapping all IP addresses coming here.  And then start posting in the left hand frame all DNC and Obama posters from those domains.  If they come in from proxy servers, then reverse proxy away.

Charles Johnson did that when the Reuters sock puppets were causing trouble at his site.  You may want to send Charles a note.
