As a Concerned Christian Conservative, I'm Angry About McCain's Lies About Obama
Update: Now Stocked with 20% More Racist Lies That Concern Me Very Much

But as far as lies go, these are awesome.

Bonus: Harry Reid says there will be no legislation on the financial mess, and confesses he doesn't know what to do.

Now that the lobbying money from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae is cut off, I guess I understand his need of further guidance.

More Lies... Via opensecrets.org:

Still More Lies... Obama connected to these messes through Tony Rezko and his corrupt Iraqi crony/supporter.

Thanks to Jim.

His name? Barack Hussien Obama

6 Yes, some of us are willing to stand up and fight for America.  Which will mean, occasionally, having to fight against our party's own nominee.  But we fight on, nonetheless.

Others, unfortunately, will pack it and quit fighting the moment the next NRO rumor starts floating around or they misread something.

7 Hi everybody, as a Christian clinging to my guns and religion, I am very concerned about Senator McCain's lies. I am sure that you all know that most evangelicals such as my such are Jesus freaks and psychopaths, but I hope that you can join me and Pastor Phelps at our God Hates John McCain luncheon/ Prayer for our Messiah. 9 McCain doesn't need to utter one more word in this campaign. Just show this speech 24/7. (Okay, he probably should show up for the debates....but just as a matter of courtesy).

Kidding aside, if McCain can keep body-slamming the MESSIAH to the mat as he does in this video, I think all of us can look forward to Nov 5.

10 There McCain goes again, spoiling a perfectly good election by bringing up the truth.

11 My friends, America's best days are ahead of us. The problem we've faced so far can be summed up in three words: Not Enough Mexicans. Mexicans aren't responsible for the poor lending habits of the mortgage industry, and they aren't shooting at us in Iraq and Afghanistan. Most of them aren't even shooting at us in Arizona. I may not know much about economics, but I do know that tens of millions of unskilled laborers who don't speak our language are the foundation of a 21st century economy. That's why it's so important that I reach across the aisle on this issue, and join with fair-minded Democrats in pointing out that anyone who disagrees with me is basically a member of the Klan.

12 Don't you wish McCain would run this ad?

Pelosi - not our fault!

Reid - I have no fuckin clue what to do!

Obama - it's above my paygrade

McCain - I've been warning congress about this since 2005. My reforms were blocked by democrats in the Senate. Elect me and this will never happen again.

15 Right lorien,

A choice between a man who's service to his nation is part of the history books and a man who has to inflate his thin resume every news cycle just to appear relevant to the national discussion.

May Obama's supporters follow in their messiah's footsteps and visit polling places around the nation on Nov. 4th and vote "Present."

My god, if the RNC doesn't cut an ad immediately with that clip of Harry Reid they are imbeciles.  Maybe if Reid had appointed someone with a brain to head the Banking Comittee instead of the worthless gasbag Chris Dodd, they might know what to do.

That video is Made.Of.Awesome.

Yes and more please, Sen. McCain. You've been warning people about this for a long time, and even tried to get a bill passed in 2005 to pull in Fannie and Freddie excesses.

Just like The Surge, John McCain was right years before most people even thought there might be a problem.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, asked today what actions Congress can take, said, bluntly, "No one knows what to do. We are in new territory here. This is a different game. We're not here playing soccer, basketball or football, this is a new game and we're going to have to figure out how to do it."

29 OK, I'm paranoid enough to post via a sock puppet, since I've given out enough of my own personal bio for someone to figure out who I am if they care, and I'm thinking there are more than a few Obamanoids reading AoS, and several of them here in Minnesota, and it could make things a bit uncomfortable with my co-workers:

I was a delegate to the Minnesota AFL-CIO convention this past Sun - Tues in Duluth (don't ask how; it just happened....)

And there's a bit of good news in the polling:

Apparently, according to AFL-CIO internal polling, nationwide, about 50% of UNION members are still undecided (in Minnesota, the number's around 35%.) That's simply unheard of, at least since the end of Ross Perot. And while most of the decideds are of course in the Obama camp, folks that are undecided this late in the game quite often don't bother to vote at all.

The Union organizers are plainly worried. They openly blame a lot of this on racism. After all, when the Union tells you to vote for a white guy, you damn well go out and vote for him -- no questions asked.

Over and over, we were exhorted to approach our "brothers," ("you know which ones....") and explain to them the importance of this election, and what a disaster it would be to have four more years of the "Bush-McCain Administration" (if I hear that phrase one more time, I'll puke -- and not a hangover puke, either; but a totally grossed-out projectile vomit.) The implication was, you'll never change their opinion about how unwise it is to have a Black president, but you should be able to convince them that four more years of Bush/Cheney/McCain/Rove would be worse. (Karl Rove is still, evidently, the lead puppet master in this whole sordid, diabolical scheme, that began with the theft of the Election of 2000.)

If a million-plus hard-core Union folks simply don't show up (they don't even have to vote McCain) in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Minnesota, Obama doesn't stand a chance.

Incidentally, in two days of speechifying from every leading Democrat in Minnesota, and every leading AFL-CIO person in America, not one of them said a single positive thing about Obama, besides that he'd sign the so-called "Employee Free Choice Act," and State Senator Tony Sertich (who totally botched a bogus "nephew doing a third tour in Iraq" story" -- he was apparently simultaneously going back to Iraq and only getting the mental health help he needed because he lied and said he was suicidal), filling in for Obama, mentioned that Obama had a "compelling life story," without ever bothering to say what or why that might be....)

Yep, it was all about how disastrous McCain-Palin would be (and almost all the speakers insisted on pronouncing her name with a short "a" -- I don't know why), and how disastrous the Bush-McCain administration has been.

Several speakers repeated the same lame joke: "Well, we're here in Duluth. At the next break, I want you to all go outside and look north. You can almost see Canada from here. Now you have as much foreign policy experience as Sarah Palin...."

But usually at these things, you'd expect a: "What a great friend of Labor Senator Kerry, or Vice President Gore has been...." There was nothing like that about Obama. Just, "McCain would destroy the country, and the Republicans are trying to scare you."

I was strangely encouraged by the whole spectacle -- even if I did have to shake Al Franken's hand.

Interesting thing - before AIG (actually Elliot "John" Spitzer) got rid of Hank Greenberg, AIG was a house of Republican donors (basically Hank and his guys).  I remember looking at a donation map of NYC in 2004 and the AIG building was the only decent-sized red dot.

Thanks for not giving me credit on the email with all the Fannie / Freddie donations, since I sent it from my work email.

It's a good clip, but the line at the beginning makes me miss Reagan (even though I'm not quite old enough) and pine for the hypothetical president "Two Fist" Thompson.

Still, this makes McCain ahead of the curve again.  I was on my campus yesterday where Team O! was making sure people were regestered to vote.  I ignored them until I remembered the commie must not win and I better do my part.  They'll probably call me in the morning on nov 4th.  Thanks Obama!

you'd think rank and file union people would be scared to death of the end of secret ballots that democrats are pushing.

I work with a union president who wants the secret ballot to end- I'm guessing the reasoning behind that idea is to allow for targeted union intimidation of individuals.  I'd like to ask the union prez more details, however, he won't speak to me since I admitted that I didn't think waterboarding was a torture and that I thought forcing people to buy health insurance was taking away their freedom of choice.

Posted by: shibumi at September 17, 2008 06:58 PM (tZB/c)

43 I work with a union president who wants the secret ballot to end

Of course the unions want it to end. They get more members, practically guaranteed, which is probably millions and millions of dollars for the democrat party. And they get relevance.

While screwing the workers, but we won't talk about that. Because we all know that unions don't intimidate, only eviiil corporations do that.

Posted by: lorien1973 at September 17, 2008 07:04 PM (fE4SP)

44 "I'm guessing the reasoning behind that idea is to allow for targeted union intimidation of individuals"

Pretty much. The whole "Employee Free Choice Act" (or Freedom to Choose Act) is about being able to organize a Union simply by signing cards (which, of course, would identify you by name as being "pro-Union") or not (which, of course, would identify you by name as being "anti-Union.") So we could go down the list, and say:

"Hey, Smith, you ain't signed your card yet -- what's up?" (If you get the drift....)

It doesn't even look any better at the official propaganda site:

EFCA

There's very little downside to it to rank-and-file Union members, since it doesn't address internal elections, which will still be by secret ballot, and is mostly about "organizing" non-union businesses. (How a secret ballot allows the management to intimidate workers has still never been satisfactorily explained....)

Me too. It takes away a lot of the impact when he gets crusty like this. Cindy needs to start packing a stun gun so she can give him a zap every time he does the smile. A little negative reinforcement would go a long way towards improving his communications skills.

A zap or two every time he brings up amnesty wouldn't go unlamented either.
