Lib Photographer Gleefully Springs at Chance to Make McCain Appear "Sinister" for Atlantic Cover; Proudly Admits Her Bias

The picture that gay gossip site and antisemitic conspiracy newsletter The Atlantic chose was horrid enough, but check out the noir-heavy shot she had wanted to use.

mccain1.jpg

A Touch of Evil, much?

And seriously, the picture they ran deliberately makes him look ancient and, thanks to the prominent lumps in his face, ridden with melanomas. And the photographer admits that was no happy accident.

Newsbusters shows that The Atlantic knew all about her hardcore bias, but apparently she was just what they were looking for.

Meanwhile, it's actually difficult to find an Obama picture in which liberal photographers haven't managed to shoot him with a halo around his head.

Thanks to CJ.

Well Slap My Face and Call Me Susan: Wife of Atlantic's owner a huge donor to Obama.

From Vanderleun, who notes Obama campaign staffers may have discovered the key to beating Palin: writing, producing, and filming campy parodies of Les Miserables.

As Fark says: You're doing it wrong.

PS, Obama's staffers are, um, not diverse. I haven't seen so many white people outside a KKK White Pride Olympics. (The KKK White Pride Olympics consists of four sports: golf, lacrosse, yacht racing, and Greco-Roman wife-beating.)

Other Pictures from the Gallery of McCain Grotesques: The Atlantic can't claim they didn't know.

4 Not to change the subject, but I'm trying to watch some fucking college football, and I'm suddenly struck by the beginning of the NBC commercial for some golf-bullshit called the Ryder Cup. Like I give a fuck. But anyway, it begins with lots of flag waving and U-S-A chanting. I was like, what the fuck is this? on NBC?

Like I said, I'm struck that the only time it's OK for NBC to be proud of your country is when they try to sell some stupid sporting event, like the stupid fucking Olympics.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled program.

10 You know I kind of  like that look too.  Doesn't make the media any more honest, though.  Gosh they way they edit interviews and rely on debunked talking points and stage pictures....you'd think they were running a psy-ops campaign rather than reporting  Isn't there something in the journalism hand book about that being wrong?  Just wondering.  I can't get any media critics to take up the question, you know?

11 Greenberg isn't just a "committed democrat," she's a fucking moonbat.

Her website is called "The Manipulator" and she does political photos? Fuck that shit. They pulled Sully back and pushed her forward?

She's freakin' Sully with a camera. Look at her site, she's crazy in the coconut.

The left is losing this election more than the right is winning it, and it's because they're so mad out of their heads with hatred they can't even lie straight anymore.

12 Please be sure to look at her site where she uses a portion of this picture with a monkey pissing on the top of John's head.

www.manipulator.com

Woops. Just looked and she's changed it to one that says "I called my wife a cunt."

And I guess she changed it again before then because I don't see it in google cache.

Suffice to say, it had his head coming up from the bottom with just eyes showing, and a male monkey with huge balls pissing on the top of McCain's head. I sure with I'd captured that. My husband, a photog, found it on the PDN.com.

Perhaps it is the frustration they get when after all of their work conservatives and Republicans still win elections.  Perhaps they feel they have to grab the electorate by the collar, shake it, and scream "There!  There!  Can't you see it yet?  They are evil!  Evil, I tell you!  And you clowns still vote for them!  What. Me, I'm gonna give her a call after McCain is elected.  Just to say hello and ask her how her day is going.

Andrew complained that Sarah Palin's OBSTETRICIAN refused to answer questions from teh NYT.  This is supposed to be suspicious.

Has Andrew honestly never heard of HIPPA?  Does he want his doctors answering questions from news papers about his medical status? Geez. WTF is wrong with him now?

Please.  It's right on her website, which is linked.  It's not a home phone number, it's a business number.  And if she wants to make her photography business political by turning it into a propaganda outfit, then I've got no problem calling her and saying what I think about it.

Posted by: Chris edwards at September 14, 2008 01:56 PM (RR9VH)

116 Tony,

I think you're overreacting.  It's a business number.

Does it feel creepy when Ace says, "Hey contact The Atlantic and tell them what you think about Andrew Sullivan's Palin bashing."?

He did just that recently.

Business contact information for reporters/editors..etc also gets posted when someone spots a particularly egregious example of bias. And a lot of us call and email.

Creepy?

Have you ever called a local business to complain about something?  Is that creepy?  What if a local art gallery ran a display that you found offensive?  Would it be creepy to post the gallery's phone number so people could call and express displeasure?

Or are we only supposed to express displeasure with large businesses and corporations?

If so what is the cut-off?  10 employees?  50?

Look, I'm not advocating violence here. All I did was cut and paste the contact info from her business website. Social and economic pressure are a legitimate way to modify business behavior that you don't agree with.  People do it all the time. I'm gonna call and give 'em some shit after the elections. Big deal.

Posted by: Warden at September 14, 2008 02:16 PM (KXbGD)

117 Social and economic pressure are a legitimate way to modify business behavior that you don't agree with.

And just to be upfront, this, although true, isn't my intention at all.

I just want to give 'em a call after McCain wins and say, "Good morning! How are you all today?  Hey, some election, huh?  Great day to be an American, doncha think?"

That's all.  I just want to taunt them.

Why?

Because I'm an immature asshole.

In regards to this photograph:

1.)  This man does not "fist-bump" his wife on national TV.

A man only "fist-bumps" a chick in public after she beats him in an arm wrestling match.   Obama is a neutered man.  His wife is infinitely more menacing than he is.  Reminds me a lot of Bill's relationship with Hillary.

2.)  This man could actually stare down Vladimir Putin.

3.)   This man will hunt down and kill islamo-fascists with extreme prejudice.

4.) This man's VP will hunt down , kill, and then EAT islamo-fascist scum-bags.

The caption for this photo should be "I'm John McCain, and I approve of this photo, bitches!"

172 Factors Replica Watches About The Rolex replica watches Oyster The Oyster is so closely get in touch with Rolex, and it is inevitably that some people think these are the only Replica watches Rolex manufacture. Others suppose that there is a single Oyster watch. But as a matter of fact, the name Oyster does not actually meant for a rolex Watches particular watch you can buy rolex watches or even to a series but to a type of case that available in some of the Rolex ranges. History The Oyster case was first released in 1926. The objective was to protect the workings of the watch from dust and moisture. Early watches were far from waterproof. The Oyster tag heuer Watchescase was an tag heuer watches innovative design to eliminate these problems. It had a new double locking crown that screwed into place. Before she set off she was presented with a Rolex Oyster. When she arrived, the watch was still working perfectly. The resulting publicity gave the new case a massive boost. Why is it called Oyster? Legend has it that Hans cartier Watches Wilsdorf cartier watches, who invented the Oyster, chose the name because the new case reminded him of the difficulty he had experienced prising open oysters at dinner. Since then the Oyster has further, particularly advanced. Many Oyster watches today are omega Watches perpetual-self-winding, in other omega watches words, it does not require to expose the mechanism to the outside world in order to wind it.
