MSNBC going "wobbly" on Obama?

Is this the first tiny crack in the MSNBC facade?

...it's also clear that he hasn't been able to stay on offense. John McCain has been trying to force Obama into a debate not about who's the "change" candidate, but who's the "maverick." For if Obama is voting with his fellow Democrats almost 100 percent of the time in the Senate...is he really a guy who's gonna change anything?...

10 Cooler heads have prevailed at NBC.  A company that's been around for as long as it has isn't prepared to risk it all following the lead of a two-bit sportscaster dragging their failing cable outlet over the cliff.

They'll still lean Left, but they'll at least stay in sight of the center.

It may seem counter intuitive but the sad thing for me is that Obama's candidacy has revealed to me that we have not moved as forward into a colorblind society as I had thought.  When I read numerous articles regard to black Republicans either voting for Obama, stating they haven't decided who they will vote for or failing to endorse McCain, it tells me everything I need to know.

I could understand if Obama was a middle of the road Democrat but he is the most liberal, socialist candidate the Democrats have ever fielded and that includes McGovern.  Anyone who calls themself a Republican no matter what ethnicity that is not working to prevent an Obama election has never been a Republican and has been lying.

Of course, there are exceptions to the black support of Obama, but they are geniuses so what do you expect.

It's been a long f'n election season, and it's going to get worse as time goes on, not better. Because of campaign finance laws (thx, John McCain!), politicians have to spend more and more time campaigning to reach more and more donors for smaller and smaller amounts.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 2012 election season starts in 2010.

From Obama-exposed

My fellow Americans:

As your future President I want to thank my supporters, for your mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative achievement, my pastor's relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan dictator Moamar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.

I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal behavior somehow qualifies me for the Presidency after 8 years of claiming Bush's youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.

I would also like to thank the Kennedy's for coming out in support of me. There's a lot of glamor behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped Martin Luther King, Jr. and Teddy killed a female employee with whom he was having an extra marital affair and who was pregnant with his child. And I'm not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally and figuratively. And I'd like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support. Her love of meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the White House. Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or achievement, but because I make people feel good. Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist guilt. I say things that sound meaningful, but don't really mean anything because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have meaning, then that means you have to think about them. Americans are tired of thinking. It's time to shut down the brain and open up the heart. So when you go to vote, remember don't think, just do. And do it for me.

Thank You.

Barack Hussein Obama, Jr.

It has already started.
Hillary's cadre are "supporting" Obama, but their support is helping to kill him.
Biden reminds everyone he isn't the candidate she was.
People like Estrich and Rich Cohen (WaPo) are writing articles critical of McCain, but the articles don't help Obama. They criticize McCain on points that Obama is even more vulnerable on, or they explain how Obama has to do something contrived to cover their point, so that when the contrived event happens, Schmidt has the video ready to plug in for the commercial.
Ask William Jefferson Clinton, the 1992 Campaign started before the 1988 ended and it and the 1996 one will both continue as long as Bill lives.

49 OregonMuse: "I wouldn't be surprised if the 2012 election season starts in 2010."

I think we're past that already and have been for some time. We no longer have election seasons, really. It's a perpetual election season for incumbents. I guess you could say it "starts" when a challenger comes along, but campaigns are like the cycle of life... contiguous and never ending. Votes are cast to curry favor and get contributions to retain employment. Almost no pander is too offensive if it gets the right balance of money/support in the offseason.

"...if Obama is voting with his fellow Democrats almost 100 percent of the time in the Senate...is he really a guy who's gonna change anything?..."

I wonder why this has never occured to Dems.

Kestral, etc... you guys make an excellent point.  The media turned against Howard Dean overnight, but turning against Obama might be harder just because of how far over the top their support of him has been.  But if Obama loses, the media and other Dems will take some time for introspection.  They will see with clarity and the benefit of hindsight, and may wonder just how they could have been so blindingly stupid.

The answer, I think, is that a huge faction wanted to be done with the Clintons, and Obama was their only chance.
