This was supposed to be played last night at the convention but Rudy ran long (and I think was worth it).

Speaking of Rudy's speech, it was an ass kicking of historic proportions. If he wasn't followed by Palin, it's all we would be talking about. In case you missed it last night, do yourself a favor and take a look.

12 All the speeches were good and hammered home the message the RNC wanted. They also built up to Palin nicely. Rudy was funny and fun. (Can you imagine having to sit through the droning of John Edwards? And he gets $65k every time he puts an audience to sleep, too.)

Huck was better but I still did some surfing. But Rudy, he was a grabber. He was great. He was having a blast. and then -- Babe Ruth came to the plate, and hit one big fat Obama pitch after another out through the rafters.

17 I'm glad they skipped this video. Very glad. It would have been a momentum-killer after Rudy's massive pwnage - comes off as too parochial my tastes. Instead, we went instantly from the high of Rudy ladling out chumbuckets full of red meat straight into the continued buzz of Palin emerging on the national stage and knocking the ball out of the park.

Rudy's avuncularity was the best thing that could have happened to the GOP convention last night.

I watched re-runs of the speeches last night after work. Romney's was completely forgetable. It wasn't necessarily bad, just dull. McCain was wise not to have picked him- watching him debate Biden would've been coma inducing.
