Palin Bio Video

This was supposed to be played last night at the convention but Rudy ran long (and I think was worth it).

Speaking of Rudy's speech, it was an ass kicking of historic proportions. If he wasn't followed by Palin, it's all we would be talking about. In case you missed it last night, do yourself a favor and take a look.

7 That not suprising ability to give this speech is one reason I thought earlier that Rudy was going to be the VP nominee. I didn't support him during the primaries but I would have had no trouble voting for him if he did get the nomination.

12 All the speeches were good and hammered home the message the RNC wanted. They also built up to Palin nicely. Rudy was funny and fun. (Can you imagine having to sit through the droning of John Edwards? And he gets $65k every time he puts an audience to sleep, too.)

14 polynikes #9: I saw some of Romney's, but frankly it didn't seem natural -- too much the professional pol, so I was going back and forth to other channels. Huck was better but I still did some surfing. But Rudy, he was a grabber. He was great. He was having a blast. and then -- Babe Ruth came to the plate, and hit one big fat Obama pitch after another out through the rafters.

17 I'm glad they skipped this video. Very glad. It would have been a momentum-killer after Rudy's massive pwnage - comes off as too parochial my tastes. Instead, we went instantly from the high of Rudy ladling out chumbuckets full of red meat straight into the continued buzz of Palin emerging on the national stage and knocking the ball out of the park.

Rudy's avuncularity was the best thing that could have happened to the GOP convention last night.

Linda Lingle - meh. Too slow and dull, frankly, though that may have been the fault of the telepormpter. I was thinking, ``C'mon, gal, quit pausing - every line can't be an applause line for God's sake.''

But I agree with Rockmom - having her walk out right after Rudy spoke was the way to go. And by God is she ballsy. What's the betting that McCain will start introducing himself as ``Governor Palin's running mate''?

Palin did well enough introducing herself at the beginning of her speech. The video is redundant.

Since Fox just ran it, I guess that means it's not showing at the convention, which is fine by me. Those who want to see it can go online or ask a Republican friend to screen it for them.

I watched re-runs of the speeches last night after work. Romney's was completely forgetable. It wasn't necessarily bad, just dull. McCain was wise not to have picked him- watching him debate Biden would've been coma inducing.

Thompson, and even more so, Guiliani and Palin were excellent.

I think Thompson gets a bronze, of everyone who reiterated McCain's PoW story I think he did it best (and longest).

McCain will probably suck. He's not a good speechifier.
