Roland Martin: Republicans Should Keep Politics Out of the NFC East

Now, for everyone on the left and the right, please, shut up for a moment and consider the broader issue here.

We have a crisis in America and Aaron Rodgers exemplifies that. He's an unproven quarterback who is now in the spotlight, forced to carry a team far too soon.

I can't forget the young wide receiver in the NFL documentary Everybody Loves Me who talked about going to court for the first time, dressed as Superfly, only to be counseled by counsel to put on a suit and a tie. That one decision has altered his life in a significant way.

But let's be honest. A ton of parents aren't having this conversation, so why not deal with it in the public policy arena?

We desperately need comprehensive moron NFL football picking before tomorrow's game at 5:55pm EDT that incorporates all of these issues if we are to attack the problem -- and enough of the blowhards on both sides who think their way is the only way. What do you think?

I think the Giants are going down in the East and I mean that with love and respect. Lotta love.

Do you think my ass looks too big in this picture?

2 I guess Roland Martin is an idiot, since everyone else knows that Aaaron Rodgers' Packers are in the NFC NORTH.

3 These first few weeks make picking winners very difficult. I have to guage a team on last year's performance, kinda, until I see what this season's roster can and cannot do.

4 Shifting to the AFC West: I'm just afraid that Obama's speech will be the last time this year that people cheer that much at Mile High Stadium. Go, Broncos! (I'm pathetic.)

8 I guess the fucking Giants are supposed to run off a couple more Super Bowls before people show 'em any love.

They'll sure as shit do that before the scum-sucking criminals from Dallas ever win another playoff game.

I saw that retard Paul Zimmerman pick the Eagles to go to the Super Bowl. WTF is he thinking?

Posted by: JWF at September 03, 2008 07:56 PM (Zo0Fr)

9 Giants going down?  Tough call, Dave, what with them losing both Strahan and Umanyouri (sp?).

Yeah, the Giants defense will not be as strong as it was last year when they won the big one.  So unless the magic carries over from last year, I doubt they will repeat.

I was at pre-season Giants game recently and someone showed up wearing a Romo shirt.  He was able to get Brandon Jacobs attention and began waving his Romo shirt at him.

Jacobs responded by simply shaking his head and pointing to the finger upon which he will be placing his Super Bowl ring.

Classic.

WTF does the line in NE vs. KC mean?

Also, I think that rotund sucker of cock backhandedly accused Republicans of playing the Muslim card; he said the economy was Issue #1, and then said (paraphrasing), "if you broke, it doesn't matter if you pray to Jesus or Allah or whoever."

11 Paul Zimmerman for something!
he is now MY idiot.

13 This was posted amid the smears in the Andrew Sullivan thread, but I think it is more appropriate here, as Ace is buying into a language game that hurts my friend the Rialsplitter and I find that disturbing. My friend is who he is, and leave him the hell alone without dragging him into all this bizarre weirdness on the Internet. Don't play the democrat's game, please. He's a rock composer, producer, and businessman and demands to be taken in thhose terms and that level.
Until there is "Sufficient public interest" (as the Supreme Court st the bar) to change first amendment protections, knock it off. Once there is sufficient public interest please use his Proper Name.

I am profoundly disturbed by something that is happening in the political arena involving Andrew Sullivan, Obama, Hillary Clinton , Mrs. Palin, and my friend the Railsplitter (who has posted here before and who shadow-worker I am here at the Loyal Party office), a declared candidate for vice president. The Railsplitter-- it is apparently illegal to mention his proper name in the media-- is the biggest underground rockstar in America, bootleged notoriously, largely by leftists.

This matter has been saturating the internet for sometime and has now boiled over beyond tolerable boundaries.

The Democrats, who are following the rules of Semiotics, which use a signifier to represent the signified in discussion, were using the Railsplitter as the signified, and a woman known to him from college (it is believed that she is fantastically wealthy through ghostwriting popular music) as the other signified.
Obama was the signifier for him and Hillary Clinton was the signifier for her-- Or so at least they convinced those who follow popular culture, particularly the entertainment industry. So the masses of voters were "energized" by this supposed contest between the signified as using Barack Obama and Hillary clinton as "stand-in/front people". The "energized" mass of voters then chose between the two famous people and cast ballots for the supposed contest's front people. Even John McCain accepted those terms, calling Obama (the signifier) "the world's greatest celebrity", which was falling into the Democratic Party's strategist's well-planned trap.
In fact what we expected to happen did in fact happen, that is, that once Obama won the nomination the fakey semiotic definitions were redefined so that the Railsplitter was "represented" by Mrs. Palin and attacked mercilessly-- attacks which were held back until Obama became Obama and the Railsplitter became the vice presidential candidate and attacked using Mrs. Palin as the "stand-in."
Now of course, the Railsplitter is the Railsplitter and Mrs. Palin is Mrs. Palin and any connection between the two is not only a non sequiter, but viciously politically and intellectually dishonest.
I plead that the Republican Community respond to any semiotic linkage of Mrs. Palin and my friend the rockstar with merciless mockery, shaming, and cries of foul politics. Be relentless, as most of the attacks on the railsplitter are completely spurious (he is gay, he is the secret president, he is Michael Jackson, George Bush, Saddam Hussein or the like.) These are all dirty applications of semiotics, taking an innocent person-- a rockstar leading a conceptual party and unwilling star of an internet reality show devised by and managed by Andrew Sullivan (who proper name I will withhold). and holding him to ridicul at the same time as trading in bootlegs of his music compositions.

Fine if they want to mock the Railsplitter-- he's an easy victim/ performance artist-- fine. Like I said, he's been savagely mocked and attacked-by-insinuation under the names Saddam Hussein, Michael Jackson, George Bush, and God alone knows what else. But this has nothing whatsoever to do with the Republican Party. He calls his affiliation Loyal-R, is a Registered Republican, has been a member of the NRCC off and on, and donated $26.50 to John McCain's campaign. And that is the only connection to the Republican Party.

It is egregious sliming of him, but as his shadow I have witnessed the relentlessness of the attacks and humiliations; he and I weather it, let it roll off our rhino-skin backs. It's just his life now-a-days and we view it in terms of anti-competitive business practices.
But to play on his fame to get voters for the Democrats through word-games and media-stoked legerdemain-- AND THEN, after Obama has piggy-backed on his fame, to use his personal flaws to launch a highly co-ordinated and premeditated smear on the McCain/Palin ticket AS IF there were some connection between the two other than dirty pool by the Democratic Leadership and their media and activist tools is so outrageous that it demands a withering counter-attack by Republican bloggers laughing them to scorn.

The whole matter just proves how wicked and scummy Obama, Hillary, and the Democratic activists have become.

Exposure of the dirty, cruel game and disconnection of the semiotics linkages should make the voters disgusted, just disgusted with these con-game Left-wing perpetrators.

14 Why is there a fat black knothead in Bristol Palin's bedroom, inviting the rest of America to join him?

What a pervert.

15 His actual given name is Rollin' Martin. The CNN HR person transcribed it incorrectly as they were hiring him during a long distance phone conversation. Hence the phrase, "Callin' it in".
