I'm very enthused for Palin. I'm actually more excited about McCain with her on the ticket, right now. I don't think I've ever actually had my flagging enthusiasm stoked by a sweet VP choice before. Good job, McCain, if it turns out to be the case.

As a PA citizen, Ridge was an idiot and PA was happy when he went to washington so we didn't have to deal with the idiot anymore.  Palin is a great choice.  the inexperience is on the bottom of the ticket not like BHO at the top.  The case can be easily seen that Palin will have time to learn on the job not as BHO will have to learn from day one.   Palin is a conservative with a capital C.  The base will rally around her and if MCcain wins she will blunt Hillary in 2012 or 2016.   Palin will be the first woman president in AMerica.   Her oldest served in Iraq.  McCain's son served in Iraq chichhawk argument is done.

While I don't care for the word token, I do believe that some of the most outstanding conservative thinkers happen to be "tokens"--Clarence Thomas is a brilliant jurists. One of my favorites. His opinions generally devestate, whether he's in the majority or the minority.  Margaret Thatcher was the British Ronald Reagan. My favorite conservative, ever, is Thomas Sowell.

While identity politics may play into this decision, the fact is, Sarah Palin is a great choice. And she's ben a solid conservative, and may well turn out to be a great conservative thinker, as well.
