Obama Unleashes Hope And Change Mob Of Drooling Supporters

Stanley Kurtz has been the driving force examining the links between Barack Obama and domestic terrorist William Ayers. You can read about his efforts to here.

Last night Kurtz went on WGN radio to discuss his efforts to get the University of Illinois at Chicago to release documents from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, of which Ayers was a founder and Obama a onetime board chair.

It was at that point that The Chosen One issued a vicious rant and important action alert to his avenging angels.

What followed was two hours of an hour and a half of conversation (which the Obama camp was invited to participate in but declined) and 30 minutes of apparently mostly incomprehensible rantings and personal attacks on Kurtz for having the temerity to wonder just how close Obama was to this terrorist bomber.

Guy Benson was at the studio and describes the scene.

... It didn't take long to discover that the Obama campaign—which had declined invitations to join the show for its duration to offer rebuttals to Kurtz's points—had sent an "Obama Action Wire" e-mail to its supporters, encouraging them to deluge the station with complaints.

Why? Because, naturally, Kurtz is a "right-wing hatchet man," a "smear merchant" and a "slimy character assassin" who is perpetrating one of the "most cynical and offensive smears ever launched against Barack."

Evidently, much of Obama nation is comprised of obedient and persistent sheep. They jammed all five studio lines for nearly the entire show while firing off dozens of angry emails. Many vowed to kick their grievances up the food chain to station management. After 90 minutes of alleged smear peddling, Milt Rosenberg (a well-respected host whose long-form interview show has aired in Chicago for decades) opened the phone lines, and blind ignorance soon began to crackle across the AM airwaves. The overwhelming message was clear: The interview must be put to an end immediately, and the station management should prevent similar discussions from taking place.

One female caller, when pressed about what precisely she objected to, simply replied, "We just want it to stop!" Another angry caller was asked what "lies" Kurtz had told in any of his reporting on Barack Obama. The thoughtful response? "Everything he said is dishonest." The same caller later refused to get into "specifics." Another gentleman called Kurtz "the most un-American person" he'd ever heard. Several of the callers did not even know Stanley's name, most had obviously never read a sentence of his meticulous research, and more than simply read verbatim from the Obama talking points.

As the saying goes, read the whole thing.

Apparently not much effort was made to actually refute the charges, just call names, question Kurtz's character and above all shut down an inconvenient inquiry.

Add this to the Obama campaign's attempt to bring criminal charges against an independent group who produced an ad bringing attention to the Obama/Ayers relationship and you see that Obama's new style of politics look pretty damn familiar.

If the Obama people are getting this worked up over whatever Kurtz is looking into you have to think they are worried about what might turn up.

Good luck Stanley.

*I changed the title because Brownshirts overstates the case. We've listen for 8 years to dumb ass comparisons of Bush to Hitler and I shouldn't sink to that level. Sorry, I got a bit carried away.

Below the fold...in case you missed it is the American Issues Project ad that has the Obama campaign demanding a federal criminal investigation.

1 Get ready for Emperor Odious. If this asshat gets into the White House, be prepared for henchmen such as these to crush "the highest form of patriotism," dissent, like steel toed boots on cockroaches. Free speech will be under assault as never before in the USA. It will be a de facto revival of the Alien and Sedition Act.

2 Someone needs to tell that jackass that he isn't in Chicago anymore.

That he's doing stuff like this so openly makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes. I hope the GOP lawyers are ready to fight what I think is going to be the biggest use of voter fraud in our lifetimes.

5 It's not like this is new. To the left, and especially the Obama-style in-need-of-medicaton left, drooling has been standard discourse for a while.

Because left-of-center politics is more about feeling ("I feel your pain") and less about facts, what you end up with when you ask them for facts is exactly what Kurtz got on Rosenberg's show. It is what you will always get from the left.

Let them drool. To normal people, they are the very best argument against Obama.

6 Best part of the action alert.........

"Be honest, but be civil"

Apparently honesty and civility are mutually exclusive.

7 Apparently not much effort was made to actually refute the charges, just call names, question Kurtz's character and above all shut down an inconvenient inquiry.

Standard playbook for these thugs Ask Ken Starr.

I love how these idiots justify speculating on the most outlandish conspiracy theories about Chimpy Bush McHalliburton and his jewish cabal of 9/11 covert operatives by disingenuously stating, "Hey, we're just asking questions. Nothing wrong with that. It's patriotic to ask questions instead of just going along with the government's version of things," then turn around and throw a fit when someone wants a look at public documents concerning their precious Messiah.

Scratch a leftist, and find a fascist underneath. The entire foundation for their ideology is based on untruths, so they have to shut down debate.

12 The original headline didn't miss it by far.

Obie's campaign is attempting to suppress any and all criticism of their Messianic savior.

They are attempting to get an ad pulled from TV.

They are attacking the Republican donor who ran the ad.

A reporter was arrested in Denver. That same reporter was doing a story which may have been critical of the Dims.

Yeah, the original title did not miss it by far.

Dark days lie ahead ladies and gentlemen.

Dark days.

Jonah Goldberg is the Orwell of the 21st Century. Fascism with a smiley face, indeed.

I listened to Kurtz on Milt Rosenberg last night. There were Obamabots calling up whose voices were shaking with rage at WGN allowing a journalist to describe his research. This old Milt Rosenberg guy is a courtly old dude who was totally verklumpt about the lunatics calling his show. He kept asking people what Kurtz was dishonest about, or what was wrong with looking into Obama's past activities and associations, since he wants to be President and all. The bots just kept repeating how unfair, unprecedented and outrageous it all was. They all mouthed the same Obama propaganda, not an original thought in the whole bunch. Then every now and then a feisty conservative would get through and give a thumbs up.

My favorite part was that Obama's "action alert" email told the bots they weren't getting "equal time" to rebut Kurtz's accusations, and the bots needed to demand equal time from WGN. But Rosenberg's producer came on the air and said they basically begged Obama's campaign to send someone to the show and they'd let him be on for the whole two hours to offer "rebuttal." But they refused to send anyone, while still bitching they didn't get he opportunity to send anyone.

This didn't phase the bots at all. They kept repeating how was Obama going to send anyone, he was in the middle of a convention. Milt pointed out that Obama's national (international?) campaign headquarters is basically across Michigan Avenue from WGN, it wouldn't be that big of a deal for someone from the campaign to walk across the street. Was the whole headquarters empty? The bots just kept repeating that WGN was basically lynching Obama by launching its "attacks" during the convention.

Surreal indeed.

The GOP talks a good game about the "Market place of ideas", but for the last 20 years they have been losing that battle badly. They have yet to really call the MSM out on the carpet for that, and that is why the big 0 will win.

28 The Ayers ad is in heavy rotation up here in NEPA which I find v v interesting. This isn't exactly a Republican stronghold and now with Biden being cast as the Chosen Son of Scranton I'm frankly amazed that the tv stations are running it. I'm not sure what it means, other than that the tv stations want the ad revenue. But I'm just raising questions. That's patriotic after all.

Posted by: alexthechick at August 28, 2008 01:52 PM (SHHaV)

29 It wasn't TWO hours of brownshirt ranting at all. I'm listening to the podcast of the program right now. The first hour and a half is a very calm, thoughtful discussion between Rosenberg (the host) and Kurtz that covers a wide range of related topics, running from the Annenberg challenge to community organizer politics in general. Rosenberg has a great "old man" radio voice - very NPR - and if you're interested in listening to a very sedate and measured discussion of the whole Ayers issue and its related tangents, I'm enjoying it myself.

And then the last half hour comes on. What a hoot! Rosenberg and Kurtz read the "OBAMA ACTION ALERT" earlier in the program, specifically the "talking points" that callers should use, and then were audibly grinning as callers kept citing them almost line-for-line like little robots.

35 Deep down, the Obama Socialists are no different than their brothers of Mao's China, Kampuchea, the Third Reich, Mussolini's Italy and the USSR. Moderates on the left had every clue that Obama was of this more radical "Joe Stalin with good looks" heritage from how he cleared his opposition rather than competed on ideas. For someone with no experience nor accomplishment to rise so quickly, it's a function of something behind the scenes causing their rise. Powerful sponsors and ruthless practices to silence any opposition are the hallmarks of Obama's program.

I wonder how much Obama's Reign will tolerate the gays, deviants and other useless misfits. Remember, Obama will "make you get out of your comfort zone" and "make you work."

I had a political discussion with a black co-worker last night. He is off the rails unhinged about Obama and hates McCain as much as Chimpy. This is a professional, smart black man who works in the criminal justice system. The average black guy on the street is going to lose his mind if Obama loses. I truly fear it will be very ugly, indeed. I also agree that the dems will be willing to pull out all the stops on vote fraud this time.

After I told him that I was voting for McCain he became very angry and started with the talking points. McCain dumped his first wife, he was a fake war hero, he is a Bush clone, etc. I will not be bringing up politics at work from now on. You would think that a group of criminal justice professionals (probation officers and surveillance officers) would be right of center, and you would be wrong. I would say the dems have about a 60/40 advantage in my office. But, this is Michigan. Not exactly a republican stronghold. Last R to win here was Ronald Reagan.

fugazi, strange. I talked with a black person about my age who'd come here from Flint and she was more or less okay when I said I was leaning to McCain. Mind you this was some months ago, before the convention period, and black rage was then focused on Hillary. (McCain wasn't even thought about.)

Anger isn't something that just goes away for those who have a political or religious mandate for it. All or nearly all those Hillary haters are now McCain haters. (In our case, Kerry haters 2004 are mostly Obama haters now. Although, as I'd said earlier, I don't feel that Obama has betrayed our country and our civilisation as directly as had Kerry, so I don't choose to hate Obama as I did Kerry.)

44 The upside to this (which is obviously on orders straight from Obama), is that these types cannot restrain themselves. If Obama manages to win, then it will be in deep conflict with America's very soul. We will quickly reject every aspect of Obama. We will pay a heavy price (remember the millions killed thanks to Carter... even Mugabe is a product of Carter), but at least this crap never lasts in America.
