| McCain...I'll Show You The Chicago WayIf Obama says, "Abramoff", you say Ayers. If he says, 'you have a lot of houses', you say, "Rezko" Responding to Obama's taunt about not knowing how many homes he owns, Team McCain goes for the balls.“Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people ‘cling’ to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?”As a conservative I know I'm screwed no matter who wins this year, it's just a matter of degree but I'm really starting to enjoy this campaign. And it hasn't really started yet! Obviously the McCain folks realize just how nasty this campaign is going to get and I imagine that's got to be factoring into the VP selection. I think that's a strike against Lieberman, at least I hope it is. Yeah, Joe will go after Obama on Iraq but will he throw the Rezko/Ayers type dirt? This is a job for one man and one man only...Bob Dole. Added below the fold...The Obama ad on this 'controversy'. well, we don't have a conservative candidate, but at least we now have one that can fight back.

Well it's about damned time! Hopefully Brian Rogers doesn't wind up in the Phil Gramm Memorial Doghouse over this.

Watching The One's campaign trying to go negative reminds me of this.
How many times will they smack themselves in the face before they get a clue? Many, I hope. Posted by: mesablue at August 21, 2008 01:33 PM (5yNaE) 10
This has definitely been the funniest election ever. About 2 years ago, I thought this election had been going on for too long. Now? I wish it would never end. If Obama! chooses Biden I won't need to watch reruns of the Simpsons for the duration (the campaign or their term in office if elected), real life will be even more absurd. When McCain says anything about Obama that's nearly as shitty as what he says about all of us who aren't politicans every time he opens his face-cunt, let us know.

I like the pit bull response but for the record...there are no private beaches in Hawaii... none that I'm aware of, but then again... I'm not obama.

Er...Obama's vacation house was a mile or so away from where I grew up and my family still lives. The beach was NOT private. In fact, there are NO private beaches in Hawaii (except military bases). I suppose the SS may have kept some sort of protective barrier around him and temporarily closed off that particular section of beach. But that's not a "private" beach.

When you are The One!™ (pbuh), beaches will be made private for You.

Selected edits, for informational purposes only: "Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii during which time the Russians invaded Georgia and bought his own somehow obtained / was given a million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon (can America afford to let anyone obtain The White House this way?) really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula (but, puzzlingly, not mortgage payments or the price of gas) and thinks regular people "cling" to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who's in touch with regular Americans?"

Enough with the nice bullshit. We are the ones who will take it in the shorts if obama makes us go commie.
How about, Is the family who whines about partially paying for their Ivy League educations while earning $300,000 to $500,000 a year, in touch with average Americans? Posted by: grc at August 21, 2008 02:29 PM (YleVG) 18
McCain's staff are a swift bunch. Bravo to them. In other news, Howard Dean has overlaid another fresh photo of Joe Trippi on his dartboard... Posted by: David Ross at August 21, 2008 02:29 PM (GwV+j) 19
Yeah, that's the stuff. This is what the base has been begging GW to do for 7 years. I hate McCain, but I'll probably hold my nose and vote for him if he keeps punching Obama right in his big, fat commie cooter.

Hmmmm.
This election has turned the 24 news channels into the political equivalent of E! And I like it! Posted by: memomachine at August 21, 2008 03:38 PM (3PLow) 21
Hmmmm.
My favorite? Michelle Obama complaining, to struggling housewives in West Virginia, about how it costs her $10,000 a year for sports and piano lessons. Holy Fuck Batman! You're complaining about spending $10,000 on shit when your audience would find $10,000 a godsend just to pay the bills!? Posted by: memomachine at August 21, 2008 03:40 PM (3PLow) 22
Mccain is an older man with a lot of money (from his wife's beer distributing). Most Americans think that's pretty legit.
Obama is a kid with a bunch of Chicago crooks who made tons of money at a law firm helping Rezko (won't release his records on it), and getting crooked house deals, etc etc. He's the kid who got it all easy and slick. Mccain's wealth is not a big deal, because most Americans expect experienced old leaders to have wealth. Obama's wealth is a problem because he has no way of explaining how he earned it. He got it easy and illegally. Posted by: ghy at August 21, 2008 03:56 PM (8jYMc) Posted by: kate1215 at April 09, 2009 04:22 AM (ocBZe) 24
