Here in Houston, about half the workforce is expected to take tomorrow off. On the Gulf Coast, we get hurricanes and tropical storms. In Houston, for whatever reason, our tropical storms do more damage than our hurricanes. (to whit: Hurricane Alicia - broke some windows. Rita - took down some power lines; Tropical Storm Allison - drowned the whole of downtown and killed people all the way up to Kentucky)

Here's something to cheer you up, Ace: they're doing a big multimedia tribute to the great white whale... uh, Ted Kennedy in the Democratic National Convention. It's like handing the Republicans a big gift certificate to the presidency.

See, Ace, this is when Twitter might be useful. You could lay on the couch and send messages like: Where's my kleenex? Get me a juicebox, morons! I got to take a leak, do not change the channel. etc.
We would know that you are still breathing and you wouldn't be alone in your time of sickness.
