Former Hill Superdelegate Claims He Was Informed of Explicitly Racial Strategy for Beating Obama

My, my. One could almost get the idea that Democrats are as racist as they accuse Republicans of being.

A Democratic superdelegate from New Jersey said this week he is worried that unifying the party behind Barack Obama may be difficult because the Clinton camp "has engaged in some very divisive tactics and rhetoric it should not have."

U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews, who supported Hillary Clinton throughout the primary season, disclosed he received a phone call shortly before the April 22 Pennsylvania primary from a top member of Clinton's organization and that the caller explicitly discussed a strategy of winning over Jewish voters by exploiting tensions between Jews and African-Americans.

"There have been signals coming out of the Clinton campaign that have racial overtones that indeed disturb me," Andrews said at his campaign headquarters in Cherry Hill Tuesday night after he lost his bid for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination.

"Frankly, I had a private conversation with a high-ranking person in the campaign ... that used a racial line of argument that I found very disconcerting. It was extremely disconcerting given the rank of this person. It was very disturbing."

It should be noted that Andrews just lost his bid to run as the Democratic candidate for NJ Senator, losing to thousand year old fossil Frank Lautenberg.

So he may be looking for employment in Obama's administration.

The Clinton camp, however, was far too classy to point that out.

Oh wait, no they weren't:

Clinton's campaign issued an angry response to Andrews, who once was charged with lobbying other members of Congress to support her.

"Comments like these, coming so soon after Congressman Andrews' crushing defeat, are sad and divisive," said Clinton's chief national spokesman, Phil Singer.

This is all likely true and is glorious to see the democrats being exposed for the race hustlers they are, but why do people always talk in terms of only whites when speaking of the democrat party or indeed America. 92% of blacks vote democrat. They make up a sizable part of the democrat party.

Bill Clinton complained of Obama playing the race card first in SC. Everybody said he was a liar. Clinton started it with the Jesse Jackson remark and 'fairytail'.

I'll bet Obama did start it. Thanks to Rev. Wright we whites have been getting something of an education on the black church. Obviously Wright doesn't represent the totality of the black church but we do know it is an activist and networked church. Every heretofore unknown black pastor on TV after the Wright story finally broke already seemed to know very well who Wright was. I did too thanks to Hannity but they knew him from conferences and conventions and inter-church communication. I just wonder how many pastors were umm 'speaking' against Clinton from the pullpit before the vote and what they might have been saying. Would such things depending on the context of the sermon not constitute playing the race card?

Not really, that idiot Brian Williams won't be leading the news hour with this story, no one really will bother talking about it at all.

With all the race hustling that goes on that is excused by the media, this is minor.

Unless they can twist it around to make it look like it was a Republican's fault, of course.

What is disturbing is that knowing that Hillary would DO ANYTHING to get this nomination and yet could find nothing to get Obama with?

32 Barack Obama, who art in Chicago,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
In America as it is in Illinois.
Give us this day our daily government benefits.
And forgive us the inherent and instinctive racism of all white people,
As we ignore and excuse the blatant racism of those with whom you surround yourself
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from Republicans and Whitey.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.

33 >> and yet could find nothing to get Obama with?

This time around it was the Maoist wing [SDSers] winning out over the Stalinist wing [FDRers] within the Dem ranks. Kind of a coup, really. So it isn't about getting Obama with stuff, but organisation behind the primaries. Can't make crap stick if you can't organise the power to make it happen.

I think maybe this will signal an overall change in the way the NYT and Harvard set will behave in the future, BTW.  This kind of ideological coup always does, like after 68 when the radicals took over from the old Left. They will now become more aggressive than ever, no matter who wins the general.

34  Hillary's model of campaigning i.e. primary as socialist/general as left-centrist  is as dated as macrame wall art, shag carpet and avocado colored appliances. The aging hippies in the senate, house and voting booths that have been biding their time as the minority are feeling their oats. the straddle is no longer an option for a democrat. McTame is coopting the straddle on the right to his benefit and our despair. God help us.

Thanks, now I remember where I first heard Lautenberg's name. And as I recall, it took a frantic, last-minute ruling from SCONJ to nullify pretty much every NJ election law in order to get him on the ballot, since Toricelli was, like, a criminal.

Although I don't quite see how that would necessarily disqualify him from NJ politics.

The sweeping overreach of the ruling took my breath away. I mean, when you NJ guys do corruption, you really play hard ball.

8:33 Somehow, having endured '68 at the time, there is no political differentiation between the Hillary and Obama ideology. The Clintons are as aligned with the SDS as Obama. The difference is age, color, sex, and blank record ambiguity. The Machine determined which CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN based upon their mutual Marxist/Fascist HOPE to completely own the White House with ALL strings tightly attached.

Obama the totally malleable manipulated Pinocchio "lightworker" follows on command of puppeteer vs. Hillary the "heavyworker" leader who won't roll over on command -- Such a simple choice for a puppeteer to make.

Hillary is the Energizer Bunny who can take a siesta now as Little BoPeep.

39 maverick muse -
I see your point, however I'm examining method and ideological basis with my views on 'which political machine, etc.' Which isn't to disagree strongly with what you say.

I'm looking especially at 3 worlds theory, cult of personality, the mass line and new democracy as the hallmarks of both the SDS and Maoist line of thought, then comparing them to Obama's rise [and the coincident of a newly-reborn SDS]. The original SDS and Black Lib players are within Obama's base, but who are Hillary's? The remnants of the Great Society Liberals.

The lines are there. I'm trying to envision where it will go next, what kind of new Left is coming down the pike. Could be wrong, could be right.
