New York Times: Any Florida Jew Who Doesn't Vote for Obama Is Just a Damned Racist

Jews (and non-Jews) concerned with Mid-East foreign policy would seem to have quite a few good, rational reasons to disfavor Obama. Jews would also seem to have the bonus reason that Obama's "spiritual mentor" counts anti-semitic Jew-conspiracy lunatic Louis Farrakhan as a good friend and important intellectual hero.

Not in the NYT's telling. It's all about the racism, "false" rumors about Obama being a Muslim (he was, once, of course), and other sundry "distractions."

The name-calling has begun early. Vote the way we want or we will write mean things about the people of this country. Um, you were doing that already, guys.

I guess it is a rumor that the Obamamessiah will enter into negotiations with Iran, the country that has publicly stated it is committed to wiping Israel from the map.

That's not the half of it. Not only will you be a racist, but you will also lose you Person of Color status and become a de facto white person.

So, welcome. Please come to the meetings in Dockers and a polo shirt.

Leftism is a cancer on humanity.

15 Living in TX I don't get the opportunity to hang with the hebes much and so I have a hard time understanding where they're coming from. It seems to me like they'd have figured out by now that most democrats don't really care if their homies over at the mothership get anihilated or not. Plus, a lot of them are rather well to do, or so I hear, and realise any benefit from the confiscication programs pushed by dems. So why do they remain such a loyal voting block? The Cuban's figured it out soon after they came ashore.

Ah, Cynthia McKinney. Now there's a blast from the past.

As a native Georgian, I've never been more proud of my state than I was the day it gerrymandered the most ridiculously-shaped district in the country to give that imbecile a seat in congress.

Posted by: Andy at May 22, 2008 12:15 PM (C3mTI)

17 pendejo grande,
I have a theory about that, and it is likely to be wrong, but here goes:
The Jewish people in America realize that as a minority, their, and Israel's interested will be best served if both parties are positively inclined towards them. They know that Republicans will support them out of principles alone, but the Dems, having no principles to stand on,  will need some serious quid-pro-quo to become positive towards them.

Not only do they not care, they actively encourage it. Every election year, the right wonders if this will be the year the jews quit signing their own death certificate by voting for Democrats and it never happens, they always sign.

23 This is my favourite part:  Ms. Grossman said she was thinking of voting for Mr. Obama, who is leading in the delegate count for the nomination, as was Ms. Weitz.

But Ms. Grossman does not tell the neighbors. “I keep my mouth shut,” she said.”

So instead, she tells the New York Times.

25 question.  since BHO was a muslim and renounced the islam religion would he not have a death threat over his head from the entire muslim world.  How would a man that renounced islam be viewd in the middle east when he goes on a trip to say Iran to "talk"  would not the theology government issue a fatwa for the entire nation to kill him?

After the '04 election, I wrote a piece called "The hidden Jewish vote."  It's here, in case you care:

http://pillageidiot.blogspot.com/2004/11/hidden-jewish-vote.html

The gist was that a surprising number of Jews were not disclosing their vote for Bush.  I made a wild guess that about an additional 5% of the Jewish vote was for Bush.  (BFD, he officially got about 25%, so this brought it to 30%.)

This NYT article raises an interesting question, at least interesting to me.  Does this mean that Jews are going to admit voting for McCain, or will the Bradley Effect, coupled with the Jewish aversion to admitting a vote for a Republican trump that?

One more thing.  This is from the article:

"A longtime Democratic constituency with a consistently high turnout rate, Jews are important to his general election hopes, particularly in New York, which he expects to win; in California and New Jersey, which he must keep out of Republican hands; and, most crucially, here in Florida, where Jews make up around 5 percent of voters."

If Obama is even slightly concerned about New York, California, or New Jersey, he's in huge trouble beyond even our comprehension.

27 The ideal Democrat candidate is gay, maybe gay and transgendered, mixed race or at least cream colored, and preferably a Marxist although Socialist is acceptable.  Her car is a hybrid with child safety seats and an "I support abortion rights" bumper sticker.

28 The NYT wants Obama to win, so what? How unpredictable can one get? It is a left wing paper selling to left wing people who live in a left wing town to make money so its publisher can enjoy his estate in the Hamptons, another left wing forest. Its tactics of late have been worse than usual, probablys since it backed Clinton,  so has been losing prestige in general, and market share in particular. Here is a contest for you  and your readers Ace. Write the editorial  you think they will write in November supporting Obama for president. The one closest to it in language spirit wins (don't forget to trash McCain in it too) a case of some effete white wine which I will contribute. It shouldn't be too hard since they repeat the same drivel every four years.

29 ""Then God sent a hunter. A hunter is someone with a gun and he forces you. Hitler was a hunter. And the Bible says -- Jeremiah writing -- 'They shall hunt them from every mountain and from every hill and from the holes of the rocks,' meaning there's no place to hide. And that might be offensive to some people but don't let your heart be offended. I didn't write it, Jeremiah wrote it. It was the truth and it is the truth. How did it happen? Because God allowed it to happen. Why did it happen? Because God said my top priority for the Jewish people is to get them to come back to the land of Israel."

-Pastor John Hagee

McCain personally sought this guy's endorsement because of his steadfast support of the nation of Israel.  A support of this nation so strong that he apparently thinks it was worth the death of six million jews to create it.

Seattle Slow:  I think the meaning of that Hagee statement isn't that it was "worth" six million deaths to establish Israel, but rather, that in his (Hagee's) religious opinion, God decided to allow the Holocaust in order to help establish the state of Israel.  Not that I know much about the whole McCain/Hagee controversy (or non-controversy, as is most of what you push in the comments here), but just from reading the quote you dropped, doesn't seem like much of a controversy.  It isn't like Hagee said that he was glad the Jews were killed, as the Right Reverend Wright would most likely have said.  I know it is hard to make distinctions between different sets of words that mean different things, but you should give it a try.

"Hence, expect 90% of US Jews to vote for the Messiah."  Now that's just ironically funny as shit, right there, for a bunch of reasons.

Posted by: Sharkman at May 22, 2008 01:46 PM (UioS4)

35

Hagee says that in hindsight, perhaps God used the holocaust as a catalyst for the creation of the state of Israel.  Wright implies he wouldn't be too sad if it happened again.

The Left sees the two statements as equivalent.

Thus endeth todays lesson on the moral idiocy of the Left.

I guess it goes back to what you believe love is.  what Hagee is saying sounds like he thinks God use a  tough love approach.  that only thru failure, sacrifice, and grief can one person, people etc find true happiness.   while the other side think this would be something God could never do.   I'm not sure where I fall on this.  Logically it makes sense, emotionally I don't want to believe that God could allow such misery.  but there are many other explanations for the founding of isreal.  either way I don't think it is good politically for McCain.  It isn't a wright moment but it might hurt him some.
