Abortion Artiste Update: Faaake!
Update: And Now It's Real Again?

Performance art, the NYSun reports.

I actually believe them, but note this is really is, at heart, only her claim:

"Ms. Shvarts is engaged in performance art," a Yale spokeswoman, Helaine Klasky, said. "She stated to three senior Yale University officials today, including two deans, that she did not impregnate herself and that she did not induce any miscarriages. The entire project is an art piece, a creative fiction designed to draw attention to the ambiguity surrounding form and function of a woman’s body."

If there's evidence it was faked, it's not being presented nor even described.

Correction: The ink and Vaseline was half-misread and half made up in my own head. The article doesn't say how she faked it. Presumably it was (supposedly now) just menstrual blood.

Thanks to See-Dub for asking about that.

Just a Prank? Via See-Dub (now aboard on Michelle Malkin's blog), it looks like this was just a pure pranking. Punking as art. Her "art" apparently consisted of hoax press releases only, or at least that's what this statement by Yale suggest.

Caught in Punking: Now the deranged "artist" is claiming Yale is lying and covering up, and that her "art" is in fact real, and she did everything she claimed to.

She says only she does not know if she was ever pregnant, but she took all the steps to make herself so.

I don't know. Now this back-and-forth dueling press release thing can be part of the "art" too and I grow bored and just want them all to die in a fire.

That no one called bullshit earlier is less an indictment of our gullability than it is a measure of how far, based on their prior "performances," we believe the pwecious unhinged artistes are willing to go.

8 "Had these acts been real, they would have violated basic ethical standards and raised serious mental and physical health concerns."

Are you kidding me? The fact that she even thought this crap up did not "raise serious mental and physical health concerns."

Oh, I dunno. It comes down to stupid things kids do. Is lying about self-induced miscarriages worse than swimming in urine or shit? Obviously, lying like that in public shows very poor judgment.

Yeah, she should get a failing grade for not using the materials she said she used on her art work, and then chraged with fraud or some other crime. Lock her away. Whats next a oil painting made of dove brains?

Common!

15 You have to admit, her art project is the logical conclusion of abortion in this country, where a baby is a "burden" instead of being treated with any human consideration.

Abortions are done with no pain killers whatsoever for the baby, despite the fact that we know babies recoil from pain in the womb.  You can't even come close to doing this to a pet or farm animal, or someone would throw you right in jail.

A lot of people don't know this, but several babies actually survive late term abortions every year and are "born alive".  Usually the nurses just leave it to die.  Congress tried to pass a "born alive" law that required babies to be given legal protection if they survive an abortion, but Obama gave an impassioned speech saying why you should still be able to kill them outside the womb. That's our mainstream moderate Obama.

I think the future of Abortion is game shows, where pregnant women offer to have their pregnancies terminated depending on how they do or the results of viewer call ins.

16 O.T.:  Because Il Papa is in town, ever plaintiff's atty is getting a soundbite demanding he do more to prevent future abuse. Here's a clue: parents don't relinquish your control to anyone. Why are kids being allowed sleep overs at rectories? Or, with other adult males who are not close relations?

Numerous commenters here seem to have been pretty well punked.  And I even thought it plausible for a very short time, before I really thought about it.  But plenty of people got taken in, because they wanted to be Outraged!, and they probably wanted to believe the worst.

In a blue-moon moment, the normally stunningly-stupid Amanda Marcotte managed to make an apt comment today, to the effect that if self-administered abortion / miscarriage were that easy, the pro-choice movement would never have adopted the coat hanger as their symbol.

As I said yesterday, all it takes is for the supervising professor and/or department chair to intervene with their RESPONSIBILITY to define exactly what "work" gets school credit or not.

SO THEY PUT THEIR SPIN ON IT. "Hush, hush" confidential! @ Drudge:

The story about Aliza Shvarts' project, published Thursday in the Yale Daily News, swept across blogs and media outlets - including the Drudge Report, Fox News and The Washington Post - before Yale issued a statement saying it investigated and found it all to be a hoax that was Shvarts' idea of elaborate "performance art."

"The entire project is an art piece, a creative fiction designed to draw attention to the ambiguity surrounding form and function of a woman's body," said Yale spokeswoman Helaine Klasky.

I don't care if this was a hoax or not. She's a vicious cunt who should be institutionalized and sterilized. Unlikely as it is, there is a small possibility that she'll breed.

I'm sure she is a proponent of euthanasia and animal rights. Maybe she can do a 'performance art piece' about it by, say, climbing into a cage of hungry lions. About the only value she has is as protein.
