I'm burned out and either I'm just going to dump this all or I'll never get around to it. Contra my crap blogging today, there's news busting out all over.

Hot Air: Hillary pushing Wright story on superdelegates. She has her predicate: I never understood why the superdelegates would turn to her, trailing in both delegates and popular vote, when she was the weaker candidate. But now Hillary -- Hillary! (?) -- appears that she may be stronger. She can thus make a decent pitch; Sure, I'm a little behind, but that's only because the media didn't do its job and expose Obama for the flawed (perhaps fatally) candidate he really is.

Obama racked up his small lead before the Wright stuff broke. Once again, the media's lack of "intellectual curiosity" for any story that might bite a Democrat in the ass hurts the Democrats: They can protect Democrats, but not forever.

Be sure to watch that interview with Anderson Cooper. Note that Obama... eh, I'll save that for a full post.

Newsbusters: Yes, a study of the Craig, Vitter, and Spitzer scandals demonstrates conclusively that Republicans are always tagged with party identification in a sex scandal, while Democrats almost never are.

Hot Air: Obama sinking like a rock in important state polls (general election swing states and upcoming primary states), both against Hillary and especially McCain.

Gotta watch that hate, son. One day it's gonna burn you up.

Hot Air: Media continues insisting McCain made a "mistake" in stating that Iran assists Al Qaeda. Military intelligence, and simple normal human intelligence, strongly disagrees.

NewsBusters: And on that point-- NBC desperately flailing to change the story from Wright's wrong remarks to McCain's right ones.

CNN: Governor Breesden of Tennessee suggest a "Superdelegate Primary" -- that is, a pre-convention convention -- so that superdelegates can cast their votes before the convention and stop the bloody brawl between Clinton and Obama while the wounds still have time to heal.

LGF: Washington Post forced to correct reporter's completely made-up quote, supposedly by Brit Hume, that Rev. Wright "blames whites."

MKH: Obama squandered his opportunity to actually start this whole "healing" process we've heard so very much about. Squandered? Bullshit. He never had any intention of healing anything except his own ailing political fortunes.

9 That video of Reginald Denny brings back lots of bad memories. I was living in Hollywood during the riots in a very unusual apartment building. Immigrants from Mexico and Central America lived on the first three floors and black and white Americans lived on the 4th floor. During the riots, everyone in the building were united against the lawlessness exploding outside. We knew that we had to watch out for ourselves because if a threat emerged, a call to the LAPD would not result in police assistance. We blocked off all of the entrances and exits to the building except for a narrow alley entrance. For several days 4 or 5 residents (black, white, and hispanic) patrolled the building 24 hours per day. Our little security force was able to equip itself with weapons from the building's residents. We had plenty of handguns plus two 12ga shotguns and an AR-15. I am still amazed at how such a diverse group of people quickly came together and helped one another without the slightest racial tension at all.

Badhack Hustlin' Kaboomba is completely done. You simply can't win an election as a dem without the moderate female vote. Even should he make it to the general, he'll get zero crossover, zero moderate female vote, and in my opinion, a smaller percentage of the black vote.

There are a lot of entirely rational black people in this country who are just as sick and tired of this shit as white people are. My neighbors are a black military family ... we don't discuss politics, but I know this guy (Marine Master Sergeant), his kids play with my SO's kids, and there's no way in hell he'd vote for Obama.

Anyway, this isn't going away ... if I were a rational Dem (yeah, I know, few and far between), I'd push this story fucking harder to get him out of the way now.

But if he can't clean up his own back yard, how is he going to do it nationally (assuming it needs to be done anywhere other than in the minds of bigots like himself and his "mentor"). Bingo. I'm conscious of who is around me when I'm out in public and, if it's dark or it's not a fairly well populated area, I get concerned whenever *anyone* comes up, male, female, black, white, brown, purple, whatever. It's simply prudent.

I'm a pretty tough chick and I've taken self defense classes and I'm careful not to place myself in dangerous situations. But the fact remains that I'm five foot nothing, in my 30's and out of shape. God forbid something happen, because if it does, well, my odds of being harmed are pretty substantial. So, hell yeah, I pay attention to what's going on around me. I deeply, deeply resent being told I'm racist for noticing what's going on around me. I do not think there's a danger because of race, I think there's a danger because of the relative physical prowess. That's not an unreasonable concern. And I will be damned before anyone tries to guilt me into ignoring basic matters of personal security.
