Unless it was just my internet connection the Obama portions of the vid were deliberately jittered and repetitive.

I personally HATE that rap affected jittering nonsense and I think it made the thing almost unwatchable.

Just use his words and don't edit the thing for 'effect'. I wasn't in church is effective enough. No need to repeat it a bazillion times in a row as if the audience was retarded.

Shabby shabby video production. Could have been about 100% better with a bit more subtlety. or in fact ANY subtlety.

NPR ran a "report" that was basically apologetics for Rev. Wright. They claimed his message was not out of the mainstream for Black churches, and similar to how a lot of white churches condemn America. And they said he was like his namesake, the prophet Jeremiah, who also issued condemnations.

The thing is, white churches and Jeremiah were telling people to change their ways. Jeremiah Wright is telling his people that other people need to change. There's never any exhortation for his people to do improve. All they're supposed to do is complain about other people. What kind of spiritual leader is that?

I don't pretend to understand the Democratic primary rules (the only thing more fucked up than the Republican primary rules). But I'd assume that all that 'delegate math' that people were trumpeting for weeks to declare Hilary's end still applies. So probably he's toast in the general only.

That said, I personally don't plan on writing Hilary's epitaph until Obama makes his acceptance speech. But I do hope that the delegate mathematicians are correct. Obama is now definitely the weaker candidate.

It's a good thing too, the only weaker candidate than McCain that we could have picked was Huckabee (I'm not counting any of the congressmen, who never had a chance).

You don't have to do that. You probably won't find much but viruses on Limewire.

If you have firefox, you can get either DownloadHelper, Unplug, or Fast Video Download.

(Youtube kinda fucked the programs, but they used to let you save flv files from your cache. Maybe it was just Firefox's last update. I'm not sure, but it pisses me off being on 56-k that it doesn't go from the cache anymore...)

I'll teach you how it works from downloadhelper (DH).
You just search Youtube, or really any site with embedded files, and click on the video's page. The little bubbles on DH's icon should automatically light up. Click the icon and you should see a file name with an .flv extension. Click on this file and it should prompt you to save it. Save it as flv.

Then get a free program called Super.

This is the greatest conversion tool I've ever seen.

You can then take your flvs and convert them to anything you want. Mpeg, Mp3, Avi, Mov, etc. etc.

The only bitch is that converting is sorta like trying to dub something off two VCRs. Sometimes the audio doesn't sync well if you don't know what frame rate they used.

I wanted to do something with the Yes, We Can (iamwill vid) but the thing was like 8-variable frames a second or something and would not convert worth a crap.

That "report" was such a steaming pile. The excuse of "it's just black culture" doesn't fly with anyone who has half a brain. Of course, "it's just my culture" applies only to minorities - it never seems to work for white people who want to fly the Confederate flag.

I seriously doubt this will hurt Obama as much as we hope it will. I'm pessimistic like that. Plenty of blacks and self-hating liberal whites think the good Rev'rend is spot on with his racist rants. "Blaming themselves for everything" should be the next entry at Stuff White People Like.

Hell, that's an easy one. If Rev. Wright can be excused for calls to "destroy whites" then why would we be upset that Imam Whoever in Iran is calling for the "Death of the Great Satan America", or "death to all the Jews"? Obviously this is also perfectly acceptable discourse in a house of worship, and should be allowed and protected.

And the bombings? Just kids being kids really. A bit of high-spirits, nothing to worry about.

Obviously the reason we shouldn't be in Iraq or even going after Al Queda (per Obama) is because the violence, intolerance, and hatred is something Obama thinks is normal. It's just like Sunday church for him, and he doesn't see why anyone would worry about it.

That was what I was supposed to take away from his speech right? That hatred, hate speech, violence, racism, and intolerance are perfectly ok, and we should simply accept them as part of the world?
