Obama On Imus: I Wouldn't Have Anyone On My Staff Who'd Make Those Sorts of Racially-Insensitive Remarks
UPDATED With Vid

I gotta tell ya -- I'm starting to have serious doubts that this guy is really Jesus.

(PS I hope that doesn't make me racist.)

Piling On: Allah.

Geraghty, on the question everyone except those in the media asks: If Obama disagreed so vehemnetly with the racist, anti-semitic, anti-American crackpottery spewing out of this strutting peacock of a toad's mouth: Why did he continue bringing his young daughters to be schooled in Uncle Jerry's Happy House of Hatred?

Ah, well, Jim, I've got your answer already: He could no more shield his daughters from this man than he could cut them off from their racist grandmama.

Dummy.

How the hell do you justify your paycheck?

Does National Review have some kind of diversity program for retards?

Thanks to cuffy meigs for the vid tip.

BONUS QUOTE:

"He didn't just cross the line," Obama said. "He fed into some of the worst stereotypes that my two young daughters are having to deal with today in America. The notions that as young African-American women -- who I hope will be athletes -- that that somehow makes them less beautiful or less important. It was a degrading comment. It's one that I'm not interested in supporting."

Yeah, meanwhile your uncle is telling his parishioners that white people created AIDS to exterminate them.

That's kind of harsh stereotype too, huh?

In fact, I'd guess that sort of notion would make it sort of easier to do harm to someone of another race. Hate speech can impel hateful acts, right? Dehumanization? Depersonalization? This ringing any bells, jagoff?

Fucker.

Liberal heads are just exploding left and right at this point.  They need to be able to decry Romney's Mormonism, Bush's born-again Christianity, and Huck's evangelicism; however, they also need to either justify or ignore Obama's religious ties, which are far more radical than any of the evil Republicans.  It's just not possible to do, hence the Scanner-like cranium action.

As has been said by many here all day -- Obama is done.

McCain: "Great!  Lindsey will be heart-broken, but shit, he had to know I always fuck over my friends, now didn't he?"

13 Okay, not to get all biblical on y'all, but...

The bible clearly states that if you have a disagreement with your brother you should confront them privately, but if they do not listen, you can take others or bring the matter in front of the church. If they refuse to listen, treat them like a pagan or tax collector.

So, bottom line (from the preachy corner) - Obama had biblical authority to confront Reverend Wright and he SHOULD HAVE. Unless of course, he wasn't truly in disagreement with him. Oh, and why didn't Obama say he's praying for Wright and his racist granny? Just sayin'...

That video is a vertitable goldmine of hypocricy... every damn statement builds a higher pile of it on top of the one before.  Isn't it weirdly ironic how he's smugly cruising along here, thinking "Ooooh, I am sooo scoring!", when it turns out he's laying down soundbites for McCain ads.

Irony - it's just like silvery or coppery, only made out of iron, right?  Right, Teddy?  Teddy... where'd you go?!

19 FYI, did you notice what seattle slough, the troll, was trying to do in the other thread? He is doing what ALL the other good little DNC operatives are doing: scouring the web and combing the airwaves to catch a Republican in an un-pc faux pas.

Their idea of damage control is to play the "gotcha, Republicans are racists, too!" game. They are praying to their goddesses that Limbaugh, or even Ace, slips up and posts something that can be portrayed as racist to deflect from Obama's HUGE problem.

23 Y'all gotta understand that Obama was referring to white -> black racism and not black -> white racism. He had no problem with the latter cuz he's been unprotestingly drinking the kool-aid for 20 years. But let some dumb-ass talk show host who influences no one talk about 'nappy headed hos'? Them's fightin' words, mah brutha!

I swear I am beginning to think Rev. Wright is Karl Rove in blackface.

Posted by: LiveFromFortLivingRoom at March 18, 2008 06:25 PM (0aWv2)

25 Hmmm. Obama stated he wouldn't appear on Imus' show again because of the phrase "nappy-headed ho" which was uttered once, in jest, at a time when he was not present. Yet, Obama did and will voluntarily attend and finance a racist, pastor/mentor/father figure's (and damn proud of it too, BTW) church for twenty years immersed in poisonous, vile hatred directed at whites, Jews, and AmerKKKa while seeking his counsel and personal prayer, did and will lie about the associations while claiming the association is still proper and acceptable despite timely tweaked political caveats, and did and will ensure that his family and precious offspring get to hear the disgusting message and divisive rants condemning his homeland and advancing offensively repeated conspiracies to tear it down. You see, Imus is a racist. Obviously.

Now that's some nuanced equivalence.

Oh, and a pile of bullshit that could fertilize the Milky Way.

Jesus is weeping saying WTF?

I mean, if McCain said something about his own mother being sexist/racist/lacking in taste, it would reflect very poorly on him.

You can't pick your relatives, especially the ones who =raised= you, but you sure can pick the church you go to in the U.S. And you decide on the words that come out of your mouth, because that's all you've got, Mr. Do-Nothing. Show some appreciation, asshole, and don't crap on your grandma.

I sure wish I could find someone asking for Rev. Jesse Jackson's opinion, or perhaps Rev Al Sharpton's take on Rev. Wright.

I would have suspected that as black ministers of national political prominence that they would be on everybody's show.  They could tell us what blacks really believe.

As for those spreading AIDS throughout the community, how about an analysis of their political affiliation?  Heck, let's call for a Congressional committee to study the matter to see if they are Democrats or Republicans.

40 Okay, Barry, here'za deal...

I will express my guilt for all the nonexistent slaves my ancestors abused in County Cavan, Ireland, the day you accept guilt and personal responsibility for every rock of crack sold in the hood, every child gunned down in a gangbanger driveby, every Fitty Cent CD ever dropped, every abandoned child, every sleazy Sammy Davis Jr expose ever written or yet to be written, BET, and the Oakland school system.

I'm waiting.

Posted by: richard mcenroe at March 18, 2008 08:29 PM (e+exz)

41 Sammy Davis? Sleazy? Oakland? Are you mad? The sight of Sammy Davis, Jr tapdancing for Jerry's Kids, whilst holding a drink and smoking a cigarette and managing to keep his entire upper body still like Lord of the Dance or something?
Classic entertainment and as wholesome as it gets, my friend. Those 'exposes' are just done by muckrakers. And not quality muck to begin with.

Sammy was a God! Truly. And a damned fine actor.

Look how well Atlanta, Detroit, Houston, LA, Chicago, NYC and New Orleans are doing. That isn't their fault. I blame the Bee Gees. Or Crocodile Dundee, who did a movie Ice Cube should have gotten. Just another cracker racist.

He fronts for black racists but poses as a man above the fray when it comes to those who inadvertently misstep and open the race card door.

Our boy Barack can cheerfully listen to TWO DECADES  of anti American rhetoric disguised as religion and then say it's not something that  informs his own world view...can I say Horse crap here?  No, I can't, because I'm a cracker, and a conservative and  I haven't called the Obama call center to confess my race baiting

59 #52 "Shortly after 9/11"

About 9/16?

"particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security"

Note that he doesn't say it was the Iraq War that made him quit, rather talking about the Iraq War reminded him that true patriotism 'is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security," which is what made him quit.

Maybe like "chickens coming home to roost" are of importance to our national security.

"[Imus] fed into some of the worst stereotypes that my two young daughters are having to deal with today in America. The notions that as young African-American women -- who I hope will be athletes -- that that somehow makes them less beautiful or less important."  -- Obama

You mean a stereotype like this one:

"no black woman can ever be considered for anything outside what she can give with her body...." -- The Rev. J. Wright

Someone explain to me which stereotype is more damaging to Obama's daughters, the one quoted by a random radio personality those girls will probably never listen to? Or the one spouted by the family minister who baptized them?
