Shocker: Spitzer Doing Whores For Six or Seven Years, Maybe Even Ten, and Feds Can Prove It

Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been soliciting high-priced hookers for at least six years and possibly for more than a decade, sources tell The Post.

The question has to be asked:

Why was the Emperor's Club never investigated, and did Elliot Spitzer ever spike an investigation or demand that cops close a file on it?

Some will say "Ah, well, perhaps no one ever really knew about the Emperor's Club, so no such action was ever necessary."

Well. The Attorney General and then the Governor sure seemed clued in, eh?

This whole thing is like Pretty Woman but with ugly people.

Any Spurned Political Wives Missing From These Pictures? Hm! I can think of one.

Thanks to Hot Air for that.

The Sort of Irresponsible Speculation That Only Blogs Engage In (And Not the MSM, at Least Not When It Involves Democrats!): Let's assume, as seems highly likely, the Emperor's Club is mob-protected. Someone said it would be under the control of the Bonano Crime Family, but it's not necessary that we know exactly which mafia it pays tribute to.

Now. Spitzer's famous prostitution-ring prosecutions. Did they, by any chance, involve prostitution rings not controlled by the Bonanos (or whoever)?

Were these prostitution rings he busted Bonano (or whoever) controlled?

Or did he... you know... kind of only take down whoremongers who were not in the crime family of his own particular favored whoremongers?

I could throw something out there like taking out the competition but I really don't need to go that far. Do we know for a fact he went as tough on his own preferred mob's whore-rings as he went on other mobs'?

That seems to be an interesting question to ask. The answer may turn out to be quite uninteresting and disappointing to us Republicans, but then it could turn out to be very interesting and also disappointing to the MSM.

Wouldn't that be something relatively easy for the MSM to dig into and find out about?

OK, maybe I did.

2 Again, I have to chuckle at the name "Emperor's Club" and it's implications and the irony of an anti-corrupt-corporate-buster Democrat belonging to it.

3 I think the reason this stuff doesn't get investigated very closely is because people like the governor are taking advantage of it. How many other politicians are involved, what other big names? What people from other countries, what names we'd know like Giuliani, Rangel, and so on? Cops would rather just not bother with that kind of firepower aligned against them.

8 It's limerick time:
There once was a governor from New York
Whose wild whoring proved him a big dork.
When caught in his crime,
Said the red-faced client nine,
“At least no live boy or dead girl did I pork.”

10 How can I be expected to not objectify women, when our elite role models, such as the exhaulted Governor of New York -Mr. Spitzer, have done nothing but teach us lower, less intelligent beta males, thru their actions and deeds, that it is perfectly OK?
Fur crissakes, if you look at the picture in the link, he's ogling his wife's ass like a piece of meat. Go get'em Gov!

11 I bet Elliot has friends who also indulge in the Emperor's Club. I wonder how long it will take for those names to surface?

Posted by: natesnake at March 11, 2008 03:36 PM (YcXTT)

12 Pretty Woman did have Jason Alexander as a balding ambitious lawyer.

Which leads to one conclusion: The Governor of New York is George Costanza.

13 Hey, wait a second.
Maybe Spitzer was a sort-of 'Donnie Brasco' - deep undercover guy *investigating* the world of high class hookers and used his position as the chief law enforcement officer to put himself in a position to be blackmailed
Which would lead to further investigations and, eventually, arrests of much, much, much more important people - possibly brown people.
~ shudder ~
God Bless You, Elliot Spitzer, for putting yourself in Charm's Way.

38 Whoever ran the ring could getenough leverage to blackmail the governor.
If it was a crime family, they could get him to pass them inside information.
They could get him to decline prosecution.
They could get him to influence state contracts.
They could sell the blackmail information and/or photos toa third partywho needed leverage.
Whether or not any of those things happened, the governorput himself in a positionwhere every executive decision he made as attorney general or as governor comes under suspicion.

Oh, she knew all right. And in going out and standing next to this scumbag, she's shown herself to be no different than the, ahem, ladies of the Emperor's Club.
The only woman I think was truly blindsided by this kind of thing is Dana McGreevey. I was firmly in the 'she had to have known' camp until I met her at a function and came away convinced that she was that rarest of creatures, a truly naive political wife.
