LGF Gets a Correction from the MSM

As usual, they falsely described some over-the-top comments as "blog posts" written by the site's author.

Which isn't merely clueless-- we know the MSM knows and understands the distinction, otherwise, you know, they could be doing hundreds of stories about the death-wishes and cancer-hexes regularly offered up by leftwing blog commenters. Indeed, whenever a leftwing blog is taken to task, liberal defenders (including those in the MSM) immediately object "those are just comments!," even when they're not, such as the case with big Democratic macher Kos' infamous "I feel nothing -- screw them" statement.

So we know the MSM generally understands this distinction -- and certainly any goddamned reporter covering the Internet beat. Why then was this "error" ever made in the first place?

Do not ascribe to malice what can be better explained by stupidity and all that, but in this case, stupidity is not, in fact, a better explanation. CAIR pushed a hit into the MSM and the MSM dutifully complied.

Actually, I think that that was a comment to another post. It was made by Kos, himself, of course, but a comment nonetheless.

And it's not like Chuckles Johnson hasn't spouted some pretty insane things himself in the past, or that his comments aren't a fairly reliable cesspool. For myself, one of the more irksome aspects of both sides of the 'sphere is the pearl-clutching that goes about the other's haters, especially the ludicrous claims that one side is worse than the other. Shit, over-the-top is often what makes things interesting, or at least, hilarious.

I remember one day when Ace & Goldstein showed up at Tbogg's after a period of particularly brutal snark aimed their way. Ace was lecturing Tom on how he should run his blog, and Jeff was, God, who knows what Jeff was trying to do, though it seemed alot like blithering. Not to pick on Ace, or anything, because Tbogg has a gift for getting under people's skins, as evidenced by similar strange visits from Patterico, Dan Collins, and a couple of other wingers whose names I can't recall. Ace actually accorded himself best of that lot, except for the weird, brief alter-blog.

Tbogg has now done his part to save righty bloggers from themselves. You have to register at FDL to comment. Think of it as imposing a cooling-off period.

Regarding Gateway Pundit, Little Green Footballs and their recent "run-ins" with theSt. Louis Post-Dispatch: A paragraph in an article published today in the Lee Newspapers-owned Arizona Star gives me reason for hope when it comes to the the future of the Post-Dispatch and other liberal newspapers owned by Lee:

"Over the past year, Lee's stock has fallen from a 52-week high of $35.65 to $12.08 in trading Tuesday. It hit a 52-week low of $9.51 in January."

Translation: If they keep doing what they've been doing, they'll keep getting what they've been getting. Eventually, stockholders will revolt and changes will have to be made at newspapers like the Post-Dispatch. Perhaps, they'll even experiment with objectivity in reporting. What a concept!?

I don't remember Charles Johnson defending CAIR, but it is strange how the St. Louis Dispatch, known for their left leaning stance, along with many other left-leaning MSM organizations seem to defend CAIR so easily.

Liberals have gone beyond, "I am against war fighting," into "I am against America doing the war fighting" and that has lead to "I support anyone willing to jeopardize the lives of Americans." From professors like Ward Churchill to my own personal experiences talking to Liberals to Lefties thinking Barack Obama would make a great commander in chief despite the 100% lack of evidence by way of accomplishments.... endless.. endless...

It's one thing to support a liberal ideology.... But a whole new thing to become an extremist who thinks Che Guevara is a war hero. Or Micheal Moore showering love over Fidel Castro by wishing he would be his guest speaker at his award ceremony (where of course Moore will win an award or 1,000 of them because no one is claiming the Award givers are Conservative, much less fact checkers).....

You can feel free to delete my comments above but I felt so compelled to make 1 last point of clarification to my words above.

There's no comparison between Charles Johnson making a bad comment versus KOS making a bad comment because KOS would never and as far as I know HAS NEVER apologized or took back the bad comment while Charles Johnson has no problem in apologizing or taking back any mistakes he makes.

In interviews when it is brought up KOS immediately goes into VICTIM mode and says, "That's old news....My opponents just want to smear me."

?????? Hello???? Mc FLY?????? Maybe we want you to tell us if you are the un sympathetic little prick that you made yourself look like in your comment or if you made a mistake!

In fact... His articles are constantly updated over the course of the day and in many respects he updates to correct something he said that he later found out not to be true.

I never see LIBERALS correcting themselves. Never....

Furthermore.... Ann Coulter saying that John Edwards is a Fag, outrageous as it was, is not the same as KOS feeling no sympathy over slaughtered Contractors merely wanting to make Iraqi Citizen's lives better.
