Dana Perino Pwns Helen Thomas [Kensington]

Over at the Corner, Kathryn Jean Lopez points to an exchange between lovely/creamy White House Press Secretary Dana Perino:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

and hideous terrorist apologist Helen Thomas:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Q Why should we depend on him?

MS. PERINO: Because he is the commander on the ground, Helen. He's the one who is making sure that the situation is moving —

Q You mean how many more people we kill?

MS. PERINO: Helen, I find it really unfortunate that you use your front row position, bestowed upon you by your colleagues, to make such statements. This is a — it is an honor and a privilege to be in the briefing room, and to suggest that we, at the United States, are killing innocent people is just absurd and very offensive.

There’s a little more at the link. For further enjoyment, Hugh Hewitt interviewed the old bat last year, and guess what? She sounds like any other garden variety moonbat – devoid of substance and incapable of rational thought. Here’s a link to that interview.

On a related note, Paul Mirengoff at Power Line mentions attending an Ann Coulter speech earlier this week. Ann reveals that one thing she'd love to do is to serve as the President's Press Secretary for the rest of his administration. I would dearly love to see that happen.

4 The fact that the Press Corps doesn't "Throw Helen From The Train" says some pretty unpleasant things about them, too.

Helen Thomas doesn't act so much like a reporter as she does like a spoiled brat in a perpetual temper-tantrum.

Comics make much of the image of the old person in diapers acting like a baby. Reality is not so pretty.

Oh my goodness, yes!  The way in which she would habitually cut those jackals down would only be half the fun, too.  The other half would be watching them get relentlessly apoplectic.  Imagine David Gregory getting the vapors when Ann cuts off his latest preening stupid pose of a question.

11 Dana just flat-out smokes.  She's a female version of Dee Dee Myers.  Some entrepreneur needs to do a "Babes of DC" calendar.  Dana would be January.  Who would be February?  I'm drawing a blank.....although Condi in those high black boots WAS kinda hot...

This followed the above exchange:

Q    Do you know how many we have since the start of this war?

MS. PERINO:  How many — we are going after the enemy, Helen.  To the extent that any innocent Iraqis have been killed, we have expressed regret for it.

Q    Oh, regret.  It doesn't bring back a life.

To which I wish Ms Perino had replied:

No, regret doesn't bring back life, but it does reflect the lack of intent to take innicent life.  Both observations explain why the terrorist in the world never do express regret for the many tens of thousands of innocent they kill.

Send a thank you card to the troops courtesy of xerox. Go to the site and pick a design, add a message, and they will send it for you.  You can send as many cards as you want. They just ask that you pick different designs so the troops will get a variety.

NO.  As usual, it's time for a little Godfather II:

PERINO :  You were around the old timers -- and meeting up on how the family should be organized. How they based them on the old Roman legions and called them regimes -- the capos and the soldiers. And I worked.

THOMAS:  Yea, it worked. Those were the great old days you know. And one was like to Roman Empire. The KENNEDY Family was like the Roman Empire.

PERINO :  It was once, THOMAS -- when a plot against the Emperor failed -- the planners were always given a chance to let their families keep their fortunes.

THOMAS:   Yea -- but only the rich guys PERINO. The little guys -- they got knocked off and all their estates went to the Emperors. Unless they went home and uh, killed themselves -- then nothing happened. And their families -- their families were taken care of PERINO.

PERINO:  That was a good break -- nice funeral.

PENTANGELI: Yea -- they went home -- and sat in a hot bath -- opened up their veins -- and bleed to death.. And sometimes had a little party before they did it.

PERINO:  Don't worry about anything THOMAS .

Now, when she says, "Tell us what you really think about John Kerry," Henry fetches a flip-flop.

Asked if "anybody thinks that Bill Clinton should be in jail," Henry barks.

In all seriousness, she doesn't have an employer. For several years, she's been down to syndication in very few (almost zero) papers. 69 The old White House press room is built on top of the pool FDR had put in when he was president. I believe Richard Nixon was the one who had it enclosed; i'm not sure when it was covered and made a press room (Regan?). Recently it was remodeled and FNC gave the public a look at what it really looked like, not just the podium and the blue curtain. The pool is still there, white house staffers popped open a hatch in the floor between the front row of press seats and the podium revealing power cables, a/v cable, and a framework of lumber holding the whole thing up over the sea-foam green tiled pool. That hatch was damn near right in front of where Helen sits. If Tony Snow had pushed her in and nailed the lid shut, would anyone have cared?

74    You folks are confusing me but you sure seem to amuse yourselves. I'm wondering if Helen Thomas might be referring to such information as: "The IBC released a report detailing the deaths it recorded between March 2003 and March 2005[57] in which it recorded 24,865 civilian deaths. The report says the US and its allies were responsible for the largest share (37%) of the 24,865 deaths. The remaining deaths were attributed to anti-occupations forces (9%), crime (36%) and unknown agents (11%)." And that's the old news. It doesn't include the last two years. Or the actual invasion in which "the (IBC) reported that 7,299 civilians are documented to have been killed, primarily by US air and ground forces. There were 17,338 civilian injuries inflicted up to May 1, 2003. The IBC says their figures are likely underestimates because: "it should be noted that many deaths will likely go unreported or unrecorded by officials and media."
One of you offered "No, regret doesn't bring back life, but it does reflect the lack of intent to take innicent [sic] life.  Both observations explain why the terrorist[sic] in the world never do express regret for the many tens of thousands of innocent they kill." We seem to be doing a lot of unintending to death. And I wonder if Dana Perino is writing any of those regret cards? I'll bet she dots her "i's" with hearts, awwww.

77 dear TMF,
thanks for the note and here's some Latin for you: when you refuse to address  information aka facts and rely instead upon insult it is called an attack ad hominem. now why don't you instead of presuming me to be a fuckwit actually address the issue at hand.
we are none too popular and becoming less so for our extravagant use of airpower to assault insurgents and limit our casualties and oh by the way killing a bunch of other people. thus metastasizing the problem. this is familiar to those of us with memory of viet nam. 40% of the  american casualties there were after nixon came to power and kept the war going for prestige/domestic political reasons, knowing full well there was no triumph possible by force of arms. i think there were something like one million and a half "regrettable" deaths there. shall we do an encore?
i'd be happy to hear what informs the "seems to me" part...   do you have any casualty figures for example?

They are comining home to develop leukemia, brain cancer and lung cancer among other things. Oh, and study these pics carefully. This is what your grandbabies might look like.

313 Ronaldo supposedly spent over $20,000 on champagne (even though he doesn't drink?!) before heading back to Paris Hilton's house. Judging by the fact that Paris (followed religiously by tens of paparazzi) left her curtains open for all the world to see Ronaldo was there, she may be looking for some extra publicity.
