Unbelievable- Gay General At Republican Debate Is A Member of Hillary Clinton’s Gay Steering Committee?

Tonight’s CNN debate had a ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ question from a retired general. Apparently the general, Keith Kerr, is a member of the LGBT Americans For Hillary Steering Committee.

Kerr was in the audience and after Romney, Hunter and Huckabee responded, Kerr was asked if he felt they answered his question. Kerr took that opportunity to make a two or three minute speech in favor of gays serving openly in the military and taking the Republicans to task for not supporting that.

You have to hand it to them...the Hillary people are really good at planting questions. At least CNN didn't identify him as an undecided voter.

Cooper said CNN didn't know about Kerr's affiliation with the Clinton campaign and had they known they would have acknowledged it, if they had used his question at all.

Apparently this "general" never attended basic. Or if he did, it was West Point. Let me break it down for you:

Long day, continously standing on your feet, at attention even when eating, already taken a shower earlier yet still smell like rat's piss, then just as the sun's setting (and a lot of times later) racing to the showers ahead of the other flights (platoon-size units) to be first in. Normally your flight will be the last to get there. There's roughly 12 showerheads, enough room for 20 to wait behind them, but in this case there's 60 guys trying to place their shit on a bench or sink as they strip, inevitably brushing up against other guys.

Sound like a perfect place to say "hey guys, who swings my way?!"?

Or you can just do what I did- scream "I have an erection!!" and you miraculously become like Moses with everyone clearing a hole and not looking at you.

5 People fail to understand that this is a Congress implemented policy put and signed by President Clinton himself regarding Don't Ask Don't Tell. Congress has the power and authority to repeal DADT but they refuse to because why? It's a useful political tool to bash the military and the executive at the same time.

21 Thought I'd share the feedback from our Post-Debate Extreme Southwest Iowa party before it gets too late...

Giuliani: Man, were some of us serious about this guy? Out gunned from the start, and really didn't seem to be presidential material to any of us. Wrong on issues and doesn't show any presidential capacity. Will Hillary take him on as a running-mate?

Romney: Gained a lot of respect, though he still comes off too slick and prepared. The gals thought he was quite insincere but the guys were quite surprised and somewhat impressed. Solid on issues, and solid on leadership. Great positions but the gals thought he was too fake.

Huckebee: We were starting to wonder about if this guy is really a conservative from all the blog action, but it looks like they must work for someone elses campaign. Dead-on in leadership as a conservative. Still wondering about issues - especially illegal immigration. Seems to be a weakness for him. Romney has a great counter there. Actually won with the gals and second with the guys.

Thompson: Let-down of the night. My original favorite, but clearly comes across as just not who we thought he was. What a shame.

McCain: Tired old horse that is ready for pasture. Occasionally had a good point, but came across as part of the problem, not the solution. He made it clear we can thank McCain for the $9 trillion in debt, 12 million (or more) illegal immigrants, failed social security and government pork. A few nice points on the Iraq or his passion on water boarding just aren't enough to overlook decades of being part of the problem. Someone please tell McCain that having his 95-year-old mom doing his heavy hitting isn't setting well here either.

Tancredo: A few on the hard right here were hoping for a surprising win but outside some solid comments, it just didn't happen. One-trick pony, even though almost all of us here are totally for his issue.

Paul: Besides getting us all to sing the Jerry Samuals song "They're Coming To Take Me Away" together, is anyone identifying the Paul supporters so we can get them some good clinical help once this is all done? We live close to the Trans-Canadian Highway (drove past several Canadian trucks returning home from Mexico on my way in to work today in fact), but outside of the occasional references to reality, this GUY IS FREAKING NUTS. Someone please get his supporters serious treatment.

Overall Winner? For issues, surprisingly Romney. For sincerity, Huckabee.
Overall Losers: Paul (no surprise), Giuliani, and CNN who can't seem to verify sources worth a damn.

Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. I didn't weigh in earlier because I missed the first half, but having just watched it again up until the point I started on my earlier bit, I cannot freaking understand what the hell everyone's whining about Fred for. His answers were -fine-. Excellent, in fact. He would enforce the borders. Federal spending is a "target rich environment". He knocked Romney and Huckabee -hard- on several important issues. What the hell do you people want? Is he supposed to pull a cane out and start doing an Astaire dance?

I swear, this habit I'm seeing among "conservatives" lately to judge our candidates by the standards of American Idol candidates is making me ill. The jaw dropping shallowness I'm seeing is simply stunning. Go ahead, vote for a RINO because the best candidate on the field "looks old".

35 Fred doesn't have the exuberance or charm. That much has become obvious. In taped recordings, he is witty, energetic and acerbic, but in front of a live audience he's a bit timid, mellow and tame. That is a disadvantage in a modern campaign. Such is true. But I think he can beat Hillary or Obama anyway. I think he'll flat out cream them.
