I cannot really comprehend the reason to allow this cocksucker to visit Ground Zero. Perhaps he can also be allowed to visit Arlington Natonal Cemetery to spit on some of the graves of American servicement he helped kill.

Stop the ACLU notes Iran has been helping Al Qaeda for years; what's the point of the trip? So that Ahmadinejad can get an up-close Bomb Damage Assessment?

Denied? So they say now;

An advance team for the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, asked earlier this month that he be allowed to lay a wreath at the World Trade Center site during the opening of the United Nations General Assembly next week, but the request was denied, New York City police officials said today.
Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly caused considerable confusion earlier today when he suggested that the request was still pending. In fact, police officials said later, the request — made at a meeting that included the Secret Service and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey — was denied for reasons of security and safety. They added that Mr. Ahmadinejad’s aides had asked that he be allowed into the pit, where construction is taking place.

Where is the press statement from Senator Clinton? I mean, she did say all this about sanctioning Iran.

If something bad were to happen to Ahmadenejad while visiting Ground Zero, that'd make a pretty good casus belli (at least to the nutbags in charge in Tehran), which would go along with a lot of their tough talk lately.

Anyone remember what happened to the bad guy at the end of "Rising Sun"? Wesley Snipes is chasing him through a construction site, and gets held up for a few seconds by a small crew of "security", only to rush up ma few seconds later and see the bad guy's hand disappearing below the quick-dry cement being used as the foundation for the new construction going on.

I don't think it's accurate to claim Iran has been helping AQ for years. It's pretty complex, but believe it or not, the country that helped us unseat the Taliban most, with logistics and intelligence, was Iran. They hated the Taliban and were scared of AQ and were elated to see each get what they had coming.

Lately there are claims that the mullahs are hiding high-level AQ's in Iran. It is unlikely that the ruling clique in Iran is actually harboring these guys and laughing at us. It is possible that rogue elements have some AQ's on ice somewhere, but it is just as likely they have some AQ's locked up in the basement and kick the shit out of them for laughs.

Middle East politics are so complicated it makes ours look like The Itchy and Scratchy Show. It's not so simple to pick out the bad guys and assume they are all working together against our interests.
