It will shock precisely nobody that while every conservative blog is pwning Wissam al-Okali for being a stooge of Moqtada al-Sadr's, Andrew Sullivan is of course featuring an al-Okali propaganda picture as a poignant indictment of the war. Wassim al-Okali's Specialty: Maybe not the same woman, but al-Okali definitely has a favorite subject matter. Back on July 10th, this same photographer snapped a pic of another sad elderly woman, that time claiming that gleaming, undamaged bullet had hit her bed.

Those bullets are called "silent killers" because there is no noise made when they are thrown, versus the very loud noise when shot from a gun.

I call BS on the "bullet" in the second (originally July 10th) picture.
1st off, the bullet is not copper jacketed, and second, you can see the radial tooling marks on it, thus, that is not a US military bullet.
US military bullets are lead with full copper jackets (called hardball), and that thing looks like it is a steel bullet that has been turned in a lathe.
Good try Wissam al Okali, but no consolation prize for you.

Of course, she's holding brand new unfired and possibly unchambered NEW rounds (they look very clean, if you handle them a couple of times and let them sit around, the brass becomes distinctively unshiny, and when you load them up in the magazine, and/or chamber them, the get scratches around the casing).
I've not held a .50 caliber armor piercing round, but even if it's steel and doesn't deform on impact, it's certainly not going to stay shiny and have a nice pointed tip. Further, the way she is holding it shows she's holding the shell casing. Again, an unfired round.
Unbelievable. Gotta dodge those new out of the box unfired bullets, after all, you might trip or something.

Well, the fact that the photog has earlier work that is eerily similar to this one, including the un-spent round, kind makes me more suspicious of the legitimacy of this woman's claim, not less. I don't think that the suggestion that this is a staged picture, and thereby a staged "event" is overreaching in the least.

Guys, I just shot this to Ace in a an email and updated my own site to relfect this, but to teh best I can determine this is civilian ammunition. .223 Remington to be precise, or if a bit more muscular, the Vietnam-era, 55-grain M193 round our military hasn't fielded in a very long time.
Our military 5.56 ball ammo has a green tip, our tracers are orange, and our AP rounds are black.
Clean tip=civilian cartridge.

Kevin, you've got the wrong bullet in your comparison phot that you made for Ace. The bullet you used on the left is clearly a 7.62x51 NATO round, not the much shorter and more dramtically tapered 7.62x39 Russian designed chambered for the AK.
I'd also note that we don't field the M-60 any more, it haveing been completely replaced by the M-240 years ago, unless some Guard/Reserve units still have a few stateside. The othe U.S. small arms that use the 7.62 NATO round are M-14/M1A variants (pretty popular with some contractors, as well) and some of our sniper rifles.

No seriously, she might be a dear old lady who has no idea why this young man with the camera keeps having her hold up bullets. The problem here is that this exposes the legacy media's failure to cover events in the middle east. They are at best guilty of laziness and being stingy, trying to cover things on the cheap. At worst, they're aware of the desire by these guys to manipulate the US through the media and are either ambivalent or willing assistants.
See, this woman may very well have suffered several bullet holes in her house, including one in her bed, and the cameraman didn't think the bullets looked impressive enough (or they couldn't be dug out). That's not the issue, bullets do end up somewhere and its not impossible. The issue is that these pictures are absurdly false and misrepresentative and yet the legacy media is still presenting them as valid news.
Whatever their motivation or intent, that's just doing a poor job. As long as they keep relying on these Stringers, they need to have more stringent and careful editors. Maybe one with some experience with guns and the military, or the middle east. At least one that doesn't run screaming while clutching his man purse to his sunken, hairless chest at the sight of a bullet.

对于微型泵抽气端阻力的大小可以用仪器测定，把它与泵的技术参数进气口允许最大阻力Por值比较就可以知道选型是否合适。通常根据经验采用简便的方法确定，比如下述几种情况都属于负载较大（即泵的抽气端阻力较大），只能在微型真空泵范围内选型：①在泵的抽气端要接很长的管道，或管道弯曲点多、弯曲厉害甚至会阻塞封闭，或管道内孔很小（比如小于φ2毫米）；②在管路上有节流阀、电磁阀、气路开关、过滤器等元件；③泵抽气口与密闭容器连接，或该容器虽未密闭但进气量较小；④泵抽气口与吸盘连接，用于吸附物体（如集成块、精密工件等）；⑤泵的抽气端与过滤容器相连，容器口放置滤网，用于加速液体过滤。
