CNN Reporter Anti-War Activist Heckles John McCain In Iraq

Code Pink:

uring a live press conference in Bagdad, Senators McCain and Graham were heckled by CNN reporter Michael Ware. An official at the press conference called Ware’s conduct “outrageous,” saying, “here you have two United States Senators in Bagdad giving first-hand reports while Ware is laughing and mocking their comments. I’ve never witnessed such disrespect. This guy is an activist not a reporter.”

...

Michael Ware has also publicly expressed his views on the war last year in an interview with Bill Maher, saying, “I've been given a front-row ticket to watch this slow-motion train wreck … I try to stay as drunk for as long as possible while I'm here … In fact, I'm drinking now.”

He seems to be heavily invested in mocking any war-supporting politician who suggests the surge is working.

Which, you know, it is, at least for now. But I guess Michael Ware has trouble seeing that from the lounge at the Intercontinental Hotel.

Pish-posh.

The MSM is either unbiased or conservative.

2 You should also check out Cal Perry, also CNN. LGF links to a recent piece of his where he can't hide his admiration for suicide bombers.

3 Perhaps we haven't been giving enough consideration to the idea that ALL the MSM might be drunk or stoned stupid.

I remember watching Col. Hackworth bloviating on CNN before Desert Storm and being certain he was soused.  Maybe it's more widespread than we think...

4 While McCain does deserve to be heckled, this is a stretch. I wonder what CNN has on it's webpage about this incident?

These are just the latest in a long string of intentional hit-and-run attacks by Michael Ware against the US in Iraq:

But notice that there's no, or almost no, criticism of him from the msm.

The msm is truly on the other side, and more of a threat to us than al Quada.

6 Remember the Famed Tuskegee Airmen who never lost a plane during all of WWII?

Well it turns out that it was bullshit.

And it only took people 60 years to figure out that it was nearly impossible to be true. It just goes to show you that if a story is PC enough and makes you 'feel good' nobody gives a damn whether its true or not.

7 Hey max. If you want to make a link:

1) Highlight the words that you want to make a link out of

2)Click the little button that looks like a little piece of chain that just to the right of the button that looks like a clock.

3) When the box pops up, paste your link into the second "source" box (the long one)

4)Hit "apply" (this step may be unnecessary - i havent made sure yet)

5)Hit "ok"

and your done.

Note: If your using Safari you may not be able to see the buttons. Sinistar couldnt.

8 This is the go-to guy for any terrorist propaganda against the US. He had the sniper video just "fall" into his lap one day. He is a terrorist spokesman, as far as I am concerned.

9 This would be the last straw that caused me to stop watching CNN but that happened about 10 years ago.

I bet Mr. Ware is sad that he is too young and missed the fun of Vietnam.  Since he didn't get to spit on returning vets then, this kind of crap will have to do.

10 Following Max's link, if you click the Newbusters site, it appears Ware has a history of making drunken rants. So, who in our military has anything to do with this asshole? He hobnobs with terrorists and gets a stiffy when ever he can report something negative about our troops.

a-a,

It shows as a working link in the New Comments thingy, which is what I used for my post. (For New Comments, copy and paste produces a working link, at least for me.)

And believe it or not, I do know how to post a working link in old comments.

13 Ware also claimed that the insurgents were "West Point" types who were fighting for the freedom of their country. Part of the reason he can maintain contact with the insurgency is that he is willing to pass on their message via CNN to the American public. It would be interesting to know what deals CNN and Ware have made with various factions over the last few years. If a bunch of thugs were chopping American heads off they would be considered criminals and reporters would not work with them. If a group of thugs is randomly murdering Iraqi's it's a story and people like Ware can look for a pulitzer. It seems a bit racist to me.

This douchebag is a disgrace.  And I actually view his rant as progress.

Let 'em all finally grow up and remove the transparent veil of impartiality.  It's fucking bullshit and everybody knows it.

Let's all be big boys and girls and admit that we're on one side or the other.

Q: What's the difference between Michael Ware and Rosie O'Donnell?

A: One's a frothing-at-the-mouth, left-leaning anti-American propagandist with no journalistic integrity who doesn't deserve a platform and the other is a fat annoying lesbian.

And not the cool man-lesbian kind.

A CNN reporter pining for the good 'ol days when Saddam was in charge.  Then they could lounge around in luxury while not reporting the news.

Posted by: Darth Randall at April 01, 2007 06:28 PM (oLULt)

22 I was always under the impression that Ware was at least respected by most pro-war supporters. And Ace, to my knowledge, he's not one of the Green Zone reporters; his reputation stems from the fact that he does go out into the dangerous areas to report first hand. Maybe he's compromised himself with the insurgents to be able to do this, I dunno.

But while I'll perhaps grant that he was being rude in the way he went about saying it, the most important question seems to be whether what he claims about McCain's statements is true or false. If McCain's talk about Petraeus was as untrue as Ware claims, then I'd be pretty ticked off about it.

I'll admit I've been incredibly skeptical about the claims that the surge was working; from the beginning I figured that the insurgents were just hiding out for a while like they did during the other US offensives (e.g., Fallujah) until we started to relax again.

That is quite a stretch, Darth Randall.

Consider this:  If the surge is really and truly not working out and if Ware is indeed "at least respected by most pro-war supporters" and "he does go out into the dangerous areas to report first hand" -- then he would have far better ways as a journalist to get that story out than standing around heckling two US Senators on camera.

He could simply report on his claim.

Apparently he has no evidence to show.

.

Posted by: The Machine at April 01, 2007 07:17 PM (L/jMX)

25 That was me, not Darth Randall.

My basis for saying he is respected is that, for instance, various steadfast pro-war types who I've heard on Hugh Hewitt (Austin Bay and Michael Yon for a couple... I can't recall the others' names) referred to him as a fair and genuinely interested in going out and seeing what was really going on.

And as for telling and not showing... come on, you know that's not how these live interviews go. In those types of segments, reporters are talking heads just like the senators. I'm not trying to carry Ware's water here, but you're going to have some criticism more substantive than that if you're going to convince me he's an ideologue or anti-American shill.

I've been watching Ware for years and never heard him say anything good about America or what we're doing. The only thing surprising to me is that it's taken people this long to notice it. As for Bay and Yon, i don't think it would be a stretch to assume they were just showing Ware some professional courtesy.

Once again, Drudge proves that he is like Dan Rather on crack.

You should stop hyping Drudge's stories.

And, you should show a little class and apologize for circulating crap to your audience.
