4 Actually here's what I think happened. A bunch of hopped up palestinian Hamas guys hopped in a van, labeled it TV (or took at TV van), nabbed some journalists, and went to Hamas going "look, dudes we got the enemy, Fox News guys, we're big boys now!"

And Hamas went "oh crap, they kidnapped Journalists, the world will hate us, get the hell out and ditch those guys, you losers!!! BUT DON'T KILL THEM!"

So the kidnappers said "they aren't pure enough to fight the good fight and attack the great Satan where it hurts, we'll form our own group! Yeah!"

5 I think they were picked up by junior wannabes and when they found out they were Fox guys they went shopping and sold them to whomever has them now, and I agree,it doesn't feel very good.

6 Well, it wouldn't be bad for us if we had the right kind of ruthless approach to dealing with kidnappers like this. We should announce that if our guys are not freed, we will execute 10 al quaida prisoners every hour until they are. If our guys are executed, we kill all our prisoners. Then we go into the Gaza strip and tear it apart until we find our guys or we kill every member of al quaida there, and every member of Hamas if necessary.

7 And the countries who hide and abet and aid these terrorists are members of the UN and we should leave the UN its the real AXIS OF EVIL

8 Now in case you think BattleofthePyramids is extreme, let me relate a conversation I had with a former co-worker of Lebanese extraction.

He related a story in Beruit, where some terrorists captured a hotel and held the occupiers hostage, wanting several other terrorists held prisoners freed, else the hostagees would be killed.

The Lebanese response was to bring those prisoners to the hotel and inform the terrorists that the prisoners would be executed on the spot if the hostages were killed. The alternative was to spare the hostages and leave the hotel; the prisoners would remain prisoners. The terrorists chose Plan B and left.

The lesson, my Lebanese co-worker explained, was that the culture of the region is to respect power. So, to expand on BattleofthePyramids comments, if we were to match the kidnappers we actually need to name the Gitmo prisoners to be executed, so they know we are serious.

Not that I expect us to be that serious.

9 Heading on a different slant, I believe the reason the Palestinians are seriously working to free the Fox News people is because the kidnapping by an Al Qaeda franchise in Gaza creates linkage (whether apparent or through appearance) between Al Qaeda and PA/Hamas. It also shifts "blame" from Israel to the United States.

I believe that the Islamic militants don't hate the U.S. because of Israel, but the other way around. By pushing the proxy (Israel) out of the way and putting the principal (U.S.) in front, this group has opened up the full retaliation of the United States on PA/Hamas. It also links the seculars to the religious. This may be why the MSM is downplaying the kidnapping.

Again, not that I expect the U.S. to do a full retaliation.

10 What a fake! I called this on day one, but unfortunately, it'll never be proven. These guys staged their own kidnapping. Nothing fits here. Look at their mannerisms -- the way they turn their heads to each other, so calmly and poised, throughout their plea videotape. Who's in control there? If they're so terrified by hostage takers, why aren't they looking straight ahead. They look like they're acting. And how come no groups ever heard of this new one?
