MSNBC Hackette: You Will Agree With My Premise That Medical Marijuana and Gay Marriage Are Hugely Important Issues Or I Will Cut Off Your Mike

"You're kind of in my house now."

She also expresses her view that by refusing to agree with her premise that that local reporter's questions about medical marijuana (which I just linked below) were "important" to that state's voters, @tpcarney was "demeaning" her and "insulting [her] network."

This clip is illuminating, somewhat. After Carney's kicked off due to his refusal to play the left's Reindeer Games, a Democratic strategist opines it's a "red herring" that we must talk about the GDP and jobs, and argues that George Bush won in 2004 by talking about "gay marriage, gay marriage all day long."

Thus, he argues, turnabout is fair play.

If you were wondering whether that Examiner piece below -- that Obama and the Democrats are going to run solely on cultural issues, and attempt to squash any mention of the economy -- those doubts may now be safely laid to rest.

My recollection is that the Dems and the Media wish-cast every goddamn scenario they could think of -

- Bush will jigger the gas prices by releasing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in June .. no, in July ... no, in September.

- Bush will play politics in Iraq by reducing troops ... no, he won't --- okay well, he'll do something political

- Bush will ... and so forth.

Bush, to his credit, said about the Iraq war policy "Screw the politics - I'm going to do what I think is right and face any consequences."

so no troop withdrawals, et cetera.

... Bush won, btw, on the issues.

Let the candidates laud their mothers.

Romney's mom was an extremely talented, educated and strong willed independent professional woman who CHOSE to marry, stay married, have children and raise her children, succeeding in homemaking before seeking to become a Senator, a progressive for abortion rights (but not tax funded?).

Then there's Obama's mom who chose to make everything all about herself all of the time.

Same here. ....And we locked the door whenever we were doing things that, um....we didn't want them to see us doing.

As for breast feeding..... For me, the time to wean them, was when they had enough teeth to start using my breasts as chew toys. ....Which was ataround 9 months. ....It's not like I kicked them out the door or anything....they still got lots of cuddling and rocking chair time. ....Just no more chewing up mommy'sboobs.

But my son slept with us alot when he was little. He was always coming in afraid of the dark or a monster in his closet. That stopped when he was about 8. Then when my husband left us, he had a hard time dealing with it so he slept in my bed for about a year and a half. That all ended when he hit puberty.
Big deal.

Only among Democrats is their a significant net advantage to Obama from embracing gay marriage, suggesting little backlash from black voters and validating the idea that this will help energize his base. Only 11 percent of independents say Obama's change in position makes them more likely to vote for him; 23 percent say it makes them less likely.

If you want things to stay the way they are you don't go around making a stink about it, but you do react when other people want to change the status quo.

This notion on the Left that the Right are the instigators in the culture wars is not only wrong, it's plainly ignorant.

359 How much more obviously can they possibly show they're coordinating with the Obama administration? This is just hilarious.

Heck, right after the Dog-Eating Retard started occupying the White House it came out that Stephanopopoulous was holding morning meetings with the White House.

From NewsBusters in 2009:

Back on January 29, we discussed the daily strategy phone call engineered by Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for friendly TV commentators and "reporters." Politico reported that Emanuel has a daily phone conference call with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, and CNN's James Carville and Paul Begala. With Rush Limbaugh's raucous CPAC address, as he termed it his "first address to the nation," we can see at least one example of what is likely an attack strategy resulting from the Emanuel phone session with a rush to bash Rush the day after the appearance.
As soon as the sun rose on the day after Limbaugh's CPAC appearance, three of the four of the phone call participants attacked Limbaugh with the same talking points. It seems obvious that they coordinated their attack together in the Obama secret strategy session. It is amazing that a president's staff can have such power over major media figures without a peep being heard from those that only months ago bashed former presidents over a perceived undue, even "dangerous," control of the media.

365 The thing is, they can't run on gay marriage.

They can use it for precious days where the headlines aren't about the economy, but they can't actually run on it.

No one is going to elect a 'look, squirrels!!!' platform, and gay marriage loses elections. Hell, Prop 8 was in California! This is a loser for the dems in one of their most reliable states.

Blue collar rust belt is the key to this election. I bregrudgingly admit Romney is tailored kinda great for that demographic, which Michigan roots, executive experience, and the aura of financial sense. But add in 'Obama's focused on gay marriage' and that sweetens the deal for voting GOP for a lot of these people. Not only does it help show Obama is way off the mark on the recession, but ,most of these people think gay marriage is wrong.

I think they hope Romney takes the bait, realizing there's ground to gain on gay marriage, because with Santorum that led to many saying he's not focused on the right issue (I think this attack was unfair to Rick, but whatever).

374 I'm unemployed. The one job prospect I thought would come to fruition - I'd been working on it for months - fell through today. I feel awful. And when I hear Obama talking about fringe issues - like gay marriage - I get pissed off. He's got no plan.

A lot of people are hurting in this economy, even those who have jobs. When the Democrats talk about fringe issues like gay marriage, or what Romney did when he was in high school, people are going to realize the guy is simply out of touch.

No, the issue is that Republicans are going to "take away" Democrats' free stuff.

That is why Obama might win.

380 speaking of elephants in the room......
I just came home from a election pollworker instruction class ( CA ). So, we are not allowed to ask for ID (unless they are listed as "new" (never voted before)).
So.... I innocently asked, well what if Joe Schmoe comes in gives his address votes and a few hours later, another Joe Schmoe comes in give the same address wants to vote is upset that JS#1 voted in his place.
So.... now am tolet JS#2 vote with a provisional ballot.
So.... am I the only one that see this elephant?

381 I was forced to listen to Air America shortly after Bush was reelected. Man, they were crying about gay marriage. Absolutely nothing else was the reason why they lost.

382 Hang in there, Mike.

It can be so tough when you've been out of work for a while. Keep digging.

It's because of folks like you that the GOP needs to get behind Romney.

383 You know, it's amazing how far the MSM will go to cover for Obama.

I wrote a little bit about it here: http://bit.ly/JLgnXo

384 I always thought it was good manners to show respect to people that 'enter your house' and are your guests. This was rediculous - only second to Piers Morgan's interview with Jonah Goldberg. Why dont conservatives simply boycott MSDNC for awhile - their ratings are in the tanks so bad that the three viewers will hardly notice.

385 I think the gay right Romney is concerning himself with is the same one the rest of the public is concerned with. The right to be able to start a business or grow a business, the right to keep more of your own money, the right to choose your own doctors.

bush did do a lot of promising to amend the constitution to keep those icky gay citizens from stealing marriage away from decent people. clinton advised gore that going after gay people is always a sure winner. for the past several decades, both the left and the righthaven't beenableto resist dragging gay folks into the middle of everything...but i guess that's what those homos get for existing.
as for this tv confrontation, the hostess did have a point: as o'reilly often says, "this is my show, i ask the questions."
