A Life in Full: Benzion Netanyahu Dies at Age 102
He was the father of current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. I had never heard of him before but his obituary is a fascinating read:
Born Benzion Mileikowsky in Warsaw, Poland, in 1910 and moving to Mandatory Palestine in 1920, Netanyahu was a devout follower of revisionist Zionist leader Zeev Jabotinsky, who advocated Jewish military strength and the establishment of a Jewish state on both sides of the Jordan River. Netanyahu served as his personal aide until Jabotinsky's death in 1940.He then edited right-wing Jewish publications and earned a Ph.D in history from Dropsie College in Philadelphia. Later, he was a professor of Jewish history and Hebrew literature at the University of Denver and Cornell University, where he served as chairman of the department of Semitic languages and literature.
He and his wife Tzila had three sons, Benjamin, Yoni, who was killed in an operation to free Israeli hostages from an Entebbe, Uganda airport in 1976, and Iddo, a doctor and playwright.
When you've seen your life's dream come to fruition and the least well-known of your children is merely a doctor and an acclaimed playwright, you've done quite well in life.

There's a bit of a lull in the action now. The anarchists did a hit n' run and are apparently regrouping around the Old Spaghetti House. Two other large groups of protesters are still on the march where they'll join up at Westlake, so I think the Black Bloc is waiting for the crowd to swell so they can use them for cover. Well kind of but it takes some extra work:
You would be surprised that even license plate information can be found online. An old trick I use to use back in the day was searching Government Smog check sites for the plate. Not only would they say if the car passed or not, often the website would list the smog shop that serviced the car or VIN # of the car. Then I would search on the VIN # for more details and/or ask the smog shop for the vehicle owner's information.
If that doesn't work, Brandon also notes that there are a few other options available to you. While it's unlikely you'll be able to get the information covertly, you can use a Request for Record Information (INF 70) form to identify a car owner. Additionally, some states (like my home state of Minnesota allow you to go to a simple database site and pay a small fee.

Still up, about a year ago there was talk about quitting the site and turning it over to the visitors, or something, but it looks like its still limping along. I visit it about every other day. It looks like he still puts an hour or two a day into it. As far as being spot on in the analysis, he's usually spot on.

That's why i never watch the local news, they always follow the same template - airhead anchors give synopsis of story - dipshit field reporter gives same synopsis of story - videotape gives yet again same synopsis of story, in four minutes we hear the same damn thing three times, drives me nuts, just give me a paragraph or two on the web thanks.

I almost never click on a video link-the information in them is too hard and time-consuming to access. With text, I can assess the value rapidly and skim until I find something worth reading (or not). I think web video is easier to produce but that it is harder to extract and value from it. Text is also much less ambiguous.

Just saw Weasel Zipper's video of the Kabul campaign stopalooza. I only watched until Barry skipped up the stage then muted and watched our troops. Man, compare the crowd noise to when President Bush used to visit the troops. Look at their faces.. They are not faking it for The Won, our boys and girls on the front line. Imagine being told, "We are bringing Chicago to YOU." Barf.
Compare and contrast this limp video of SCOAMF to the youtube, "President Bush makes a surprise visit to Iraq" as the contrast is amazing (September 3, 2007). The troops roar when his name is announced. They are smiling with joy and pride behind him as he speaks. Oh! President George W. Bush rarely uses the word "I" in his speech to the troops that Labor Day. I miss him. And I thank him for his continued work with returning vets and wounded vets. God bless this man.

According to the Washington Post, bin Laden wanted to kill Obama, in part, because he felt Vice President Joe Biden was "unprepared" to step in as commander in chief. Bin Laden's planned assassination of Obama involved hijacking Air Force One, the Post said.

And around here the technique is, in the middle of what you describe, they always pull an "action"; for example if it was story about gas prices--HA--they'd pull a nozzlefrom a pumpand put it in a car. Kind of hard to desribe but every single story has it.

It's shown up on some 2A and gunblogger sites, along with identification of the weapon as a Kel-Tec PF-9. Take it with a grain of salt, and then another handful of the same salt.

lol. Yes, multiplayer for a hack-and-slash game with one main character. That's not even enough to put the series on life-support, but enough GoW fan-boys will buy it to probably give the developers a modest return for what will be a game comprised of discarded levels from other GoW games.
I can't tell you how underwhelmed I am about GoW:Ascention, and that sentiment is coming from the guy who geeked out about GoW3 for about a year. Ugh. They should have just ended it with GoW3 or with Ghost of Sparta at the latest.

Chris Christie, not the perfect conservative, but unmistakably a fighter. Allen West, a man who sees clearly and always stands up for what is right. Jim DeMint, who works steadily in the background to make common sense triumph. In some sense, I feel that these four do a great job of covering four distinct philosophical bases.
Seems like a better crop than we had in the "Bob Dole is our nominee" days, to me. More focus.
And what do our opponents have? Not much, from where I sit. One putative God, whose feet display their clay at pretty much every appearance now. I cannot be the only one who saw Obama "saluting" in Afghanistan today, and was reminded of Mikey Dukakis in a tank.

Frankly, Christie is a fiscally conservative moderate at *best*. I know the East Coast Crowd sometimes don't get us Westerners (spits into spitoon) and our fascination with things that go bang - IMHO someone who doesn't "get" self-defense doesn't "get" freedom, period, ever. That person will always be an issue, because their core philosophy is different from our founding philosophy.
And you didn't even mention Issa, who despite the glacial pace of certain issues has got a lot done.
But the fact is we *are* in hugely worse shape as a country, both economically and in terms of freedom, and it's been getting worse almost my entire life. The fiscal progress of the Congress in the late 90s has been more than rolled back, and we've lost more territory on rights than we've won (significantly in the last few years).

Then a pound of Bov Evans sausage, get rid of grease. Also pour the hot rinse water from the pan over the sausage in a strainer.
Then put the sausage back in the pan with a half stick of butter. Then put about 8 heaping tablespoons of flour and mix it.
Then put a little less than a gallon of mile and put on low, stirring occasionally. Then put on high when it gets real hot and stir constantly till it gets real hot. Then shut off stove.
And that there is perfect biscuts and gravy. Also use tobasco on the finished product and pepper throught the cooking.

Biscuits are a pretty easy adventure. The key to baking is to have a good scale, an idea of your true oven temp (oven therm)and to use recipes that give both volume and weight measuremens.
That said, I rarely bake breads...but biscuits are too damn good not to make yourself.

This ignores the cumulative state, local, business, and individual debts though too...

To be honest, I'm mostly just bored and trying to make conversation. I've given it a passing thought in times past, at least for something small that related to my military experience and religious beliefs. However, it's not something that I'm seriously considering.

The new attack is to create a huge follower spam "bomb". It's been done to a couple of people I follow, butI'm notsure where the attack part comes in. Maybe by creating a lot of follower churn at some point? They alerted Twitter right away and you can bet I'm keeping an eye on *my* follower numbers as well.

Buying a coupon as a gift, I could kinda see. Kind of a cheap, shitty gift, but a gift. Like a few months ago, my dear old mom bought a bunch of IHOP coupons so I could take her to breakfast a bunch. And...it kinda worked actually. The coupons cost $15 bucks. One coupon was for a kids meal. Trash. Four coupons were for free pancakes, which IHOP gives out anyway. The rest were buy one meal get one free. Okay, that was cool. And the BOGOs were mostly used up save for, like, one. I can't remember how many BOGOs there were, but they accounted for the majority. Still, once you knock out the shitty useless ones, the cost per BOGO increases. And they expire on top of that. Huh? That's retarded. So that one that never got used never got used because it expired. Fucking gay.

No. Gas is no problem. Plenty of stops on a regular spacing. The Alaska Highway has a few branches and there are some great ways to do a trip -- some of your options are:
Take a ferry from Bellingham WA up the inside passage to Haines or Skagway, then drive (or vice versa) --
Take the Cassiar Highway - very rural, usually see a lot of black bears and caribou -- // Take the Alaska Highway, but take the branch thru Jasper thru Edmonton, Calgary, etc. // Take the Alaska Highway, skip Jasper and route down thru Dawson Creek //
You can cross the Canadian border lots of places -- several in WA State, my favorite is north of Grand Coolee // or in ID north of Bonner's Ferry, or even further east into Montana. You can also route back west to Vancouver and cross near Blaine.
All of these are worth it. I urge people to make a loop -- go up one way and back another.
