Only for the three years of her probation though. After that, if the kids who got screwed want to recoup the remaining money they'll have to sue her in civil court.

Never heard that one but have heard of the college experiment whereby participants would take a drink, then push a car to the end of a table without going over. It seems 40% got better as they got more alcohol. Of course there is always the point that one is too drunk to function but for a while there, some folks improved. Much like I used to shoot pool. Between 3 and 12 beers, I was steady as a rock. After that, I was drunk and couldn't shoot for shit. So then I drove home!

Sort of, as was my family, though there was no such thing as "France" at the time - Norman is probably more accurate. My people ended up in modern-day Britain in 1066 with Billy the Conqueror. After that, they became Irish, to the point that what few ancestors we've been able to track down came to America during the famine with no money or ancestral holdings.

It's a pretty good slice of time starting in 1912 and going on up from there, linking real historical events to the changes happening in England in terms of the peerage etc. It also does a good job illustrating the "upstairs/downstairs" part of British life during that time period.

heh. yeah all those busted bones are takin their toll on me. But as a kid i hated oatmeal so much its pretty funny to me as a grownup every time i make it for myself, and love it. Sometimes if i have some extra and it gets kinda congealed... i take it out back to my favourite horse and feed it to her. She goes crazy for it.

My first marriage was like yours Gushka. It was horrible. You are right it feels very weird sometimes the way he treats me. But it has never been scary with him. There was a gun show today (and tomorrow) at The Cow Palace (SF, CA). The line at 10:00AM to get tickets must have been 200 yards long, perhaps 500 people.
While in line, I watched the people leaving the show ... very many of them with handtrucks of ammo.
One guy carried 2 boxes, probably 1000 rounds each. He was straining, and had to stop occasionally, to recover from the weight.
People are motivated. I think the JEF will suffer an un-presidented loss in November ... any plans Holder has to grab guns, incite riots,etc.,will have to happen very soon ... and yet, I don't see riots ... too much ammo in circulation ...
Coincidentally, with the large ammo purchases, or maybe ironically (or perhaps leadically) I expect the Fast and Furious investigation to heat up in June ...

anyway last year i got tired of this one guy in the competitions who had trained his big ol horse to shove around my friends' very polite little horses and intimidate them with his stallion, while he whupped up on them with a vulcanized rubber mace. So i have this Big black gelding who has a wide streak of honey badger and a little golden mare who is flat out intelligent and mean. I plan to fix his little red wagon with them. And i got this sweet little blood bay colt that will do anything for me cuz he just loves me like that, including take a whupping from a much bigger horse and just stand while i fight the other rider.... I am really curious which one of these horses is gonna fuck him up worst. IM hoping it will be the little tiny mean golden pony. Shes a beautiful piece of work, and it think Sir Clompety Clomp deserves to have his ass handed to him by a girl on a PONY. What do you think?

Which horse to take? I'd take the blood bay colt. The other horses might fight a bigger horse for a while but it sounds like the colt will fight to the death to protect you.

striking the opponents horse on purpose is unsporting. i wont do that.but i dunno. we shall see. i dont know if the bay is braver than he is small and light. hes built like a medium size thoroughbred. The black colt loves me but is built like a brick shithouse (we also taught him tricks, which makes him amusing company.) I saved each one from certain death, so they all freakin love me. The black and the tiny mare were saved from starvation, the bay from bad injuries, so complicated nobody wanted to fuck with him. But those injuries make him kinda weak. I'd just hate for Sir Clompety Clomp to knock him over, and wreak his confidence in me.
That black on the other hand may very well take that act the stallion pulls and pull it right back on him. I will report back on my practice sessions with my friend. My armour is fairly light being leather or a canvas and plate brigandine. i have to see how i will fight this dude. I may use a mace and then again i may use a rattan can sword. really depends on how i do against my pals. we will round robin the horses against each other and i will see what they all do. All of them wear neck and head armour. they get pretty used to the sounds going on, and the fact the chanfron (head armour) protects them.
But i would never hit one on purpose. you can paralyze one like that. That dude may kinda be a creep but its not the horse's fault.

my kid sandbagged me into dating Grim with the help of friends and her birth family sisters. She desperately wanted me to feel happy and safe again. but then she was older, about 18 though brain damaged, so she always seems about 15. That little rotter conspired against me!
i think the quality of the men and the depth of the relationship really make a difference. I pretty much never do anything that meaningless, which was one thing that made it so hard for me to get dating. So she got my friends to "just happen" to have him around, after they had him rescue me while i was too sick to escape or resist. Theres something a woman just cant resist about a marine coming in to do her dishes and take out the trash and clean the kitchen while shes sick. Its undeniably seductive.

Oh that is wonderful! I love it. I don't think Sissy will admit it but I think she was trying to set me up with Stuck. Sissy and I have always been very close. I was ten when she was born and our mom was an alcoholic. I took care of Sissy because mom couldn't or wouldn't. We both have different fathers and mom brought more boyfriends home than I can count. I thank God everyday for Sissy. Without her I probably would have ended up just like mom. But I couldn't because I had to take care of her. I got married at nineteen and Sissy came to live with us, I'm not sure mom even noticed. She hated Scott even before she found out he was a cheating scumbag. I never saw it back then but she did! I wish I had listened to her more.

I guess where I'm going with this is that things can grow -- but only if you have the right seeds in the proper environment. We know Stuck is funny, smart/witty, concerned about honor and correct behavior, and courageous (because nobody ever shows courage by saying, "I'm brave, I'm brave, I'm brave" -- they show it by going, "ready or not, here I go........"). We know you're funny, smart/witty, and concerned about right and wrong, as well. We know that you've been thrown together by an outlandish and surreal set of coincidences and circumstances, and that you've hit it off. That's a really great start.
What grows from here will be shaped partly by external events, but mainly by the two of you. I had spent some time with the BH when the 1989 earthquake hit here -- I briefly made sure that my apartment wasn't on fire (I had been home sick for the day) and made my way to her workplace (which was heavily damaged and later condemned). Finding this vacant, I pressed on to her apartment and made sure she was safe. Then, with no power, we went out and found dinner. External event -- earthquake; relationship -- strengthened.
I had a situation where a routine doctor visit turned into a nightmare -- I had prescription antibiotics that caused a severe reaction and the doctor refused to consider the antibiotics the problem until I had a 106-degree fever, was delirious, and broke out in spots from head-to-toe. The BH took care of me through that. External event -- malpractice; relationship -- strengthened.
You don't look to test your relationship -- life does that. But each time you overcome some situation, you can look back and say "we worked well together." We're going on our third decade. But it's been building all along.

For some reason, I spent a lot of my time in Junior High and High School playing games.
In Junior High, we had a word-association game we called "THIMK". You and your friends took turns responding to words that you called out, trying to avoid a high score. Scoring events were: non-sequitur, 2 points; repitition, 5 points; time-out, 10 points. Sample play: game, board, nail, finger, accuse, defend, fortress, castle, rook, cheat, fair, booth, game -- repetition, 5 points.
But I digress -- one from High School was "the elevator game". Whenever you get into a confined space with someone not in the clique, you start a story (in the middle) that is surreal, suggestive, and engaging....ending only when the outsider leaves the group. The object is to out-weird your group and freak-out the stranger. Sample play: (clique in elevator) "I hope he's there." (stranger gets on elevator) "....and the party was getting a little beyond what I expected." "Well, you could have expected the dwarf -- he's been at each of the last four." "Mike? Oh, yeah, he and I have become good buds -- he showed me a trick about tying my toga that's done wonders for having it fit better......no, it was that other chick and her little show." "The thing with the ping-pong balls?" "I've seen that done better. No, the thing with the donkey." "Yeah, seriously, chocolate sauce?!?!??" (stranger gets off elevator) "Did you see that guy's EYES?!?!?"

Looking on the 'net it looks like a concrete shelter with a capacity of 3 to 5 people runs between 3K and 5K plus labor for installation.
I would think installing it sub-grade away from the house and trees would be preferable. I would also rig some kind of antenna for a cell phone so I could call out in the event the door was blocked.

Emily & I had 25 years together and with a bad heart ( which was not known until autopsy ) she could have dropped dead at any time. We just did not know. Hot on the heels of all the talk about how Democrats don't support mothers... there is supposedly some video where Romney is basically saying that women, even with very young kids, have to go to work. Something to the effect that staying home isn't an option. And that parents who don't work need to learn the dignity of work, by working outside of the home.
You kind of wonder if maybe the same PR consultants are working for both parties... because the Rosen flap, the Obama response, the Romney response, and then these videos (if they exist)... it almost seems like it was tailor made to make Romney look like a hypocrite, out of touch with middle class people, elitist, etc.
