Turncoat Unhappy With Other's Duplicitous Behavior

You just can't trust anybody.

After claiming in March of 2009 he "absolutely would not switch parties," Arlen Specter defected to the Democrat party the following month. Because, after all, it's not about being a Republican; it's about holding onto power. And saving your own skin. He later went on to give Obama the 60 votes necessary to pass Obamacare--against the wishes of the majority of voters.

Former Sen. Arlen Specter (Pa.) writes in a new book that President Obama ditched him in the 2010 election after he helped Obama win the biggest legislative victory of his term by passing healthcare reform.

Specter also claims that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) did not uphold his promise to grant him seniority accrued over 28 years of service in the Senate as a Republican.

Poor guy. They treated him like this, and he was such a nice man.

Rick Santorum just emailed to say, "That's right. Arlen Specter, he's a stand up guy."

99 Just want everyone to remember, in the 2004 election - Specter was sitting on I believe the judiciary committee - so Bush and the republicans didnt want to take a chance of not supporting and having him win anyway. If that happened, I'm not so sure he doesnt help block Bush's judicial appointments.

It would have been a risk they probably were not willing to take in 2004. Maybe it was dumb, who knows, but that was the lay of the land in 2004.

They called him personally and explained they were trying to hold onto a 51 seat majority, and they couldn't NOT support a sitting Senator, and maintain any amount of discipline in the rest of the caucus.

What really ticked him off was Santorum backing Specter. As he put it, Santorum had no downside to backing Toomey in the primary, or at a minimum staying neutral. The PA GOP voters punished Santorum for it in 2006.

I ALWAYS got those two mixed up. I could never remember which one was the fat nosed liberal, and which was the opportunistic, pinch-faced scold.

We've had some real winners in the Senate down through the years. I could count on one, maybe two hands, the number of R Senators in my lifetime that I've admired.

185 What I don't like about Sarah Palin is she doesn't know when to shut up. She simply cannot answer a simple question in a brief way. "common-sense solutions" Her run-on long-winded answers are so tiresome.

Whereas treating with the Soviets to thwart an American President's policies, as Teddy did, is the highest form of patriotism I guess.Still, we have to defer to a Democrat's views on treason, which are derived from first-hand knowledge and experience.

208 "On his radio show, Ring of Fire, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr not only took the opportunity to defend a tweet accusing Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) of being a prostitute"

In fairness to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., as a Kennedy, he is an expert on the subject of prostitutes, ho's, and sluts. I will repeat something I've said before. There is a book from a number of years ago called "The Dark Side of Camelot". It was heavily footnoted. If you want to understand just what frauds politicians can be, read it.

The gist of the book is that members of that family are entitled, out of control, immoral, unethical, disgusting trash, who aren't the competent politicians that are portrayed in the media. There is nothing surprising about a member of that family letting a girl drown in a sunken car while he runs off like a slimy coward and tries to save his career. There is nothing surprising about these people constantly endangering lives of innocent people by driving under the influence.

The only surprising thing is that there are still liberals so lacking in decency that they would give credence to the garbage from that family.

221 Traitors are always thrown overboard after they've served their purpose. No one trusts a traitor in their councils, not even traitors from the other side.
